Your Christians refuse to be realistic about something you know nothing about, because Na the religion wey our parents train us to when dem born us we dey follow Being realistic? How? The guy was indirectly mocking his maker and you claim he is being realistic. I have no problem with what he says but he should be mindful of his words. Brazil 3-4 Nigeria (31 July 1996) This is not a story you’ve heard. Not a story you’ve read. But there’s a lot that needs to be said.
The story still feels like a dream. Who survives a 3-1 onslaught by a star-studded Samba squad — and goes on to win 4-3? Nigerians watched the match in the wee hours of the morning, the period when sleep tends to be sweeter, but the result was certainly real and definitely more delicious.
Parading around the likes of Bebeto, Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Juninho, Aldair, and Roberto Carlos, Brazil were overwhelming favourites to clinch the Olympic gold at Atlanta ’96. Nigeria brought their dream team — Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, and Sunday Oliseh, coached by Dutchman Johannes Bonfrere — but it’s possible not one soul believed they could get a result.
3-1 down and with 12 minutes to go, either a comeback spirit possessed Nigeria, or the team was lifted by thousands of prayers muttered half a world away. Ikpeba reduced the deficit from 20 yards before captain Kanu equalized with a goal mouth scramble.
Then, three minutes into extra time, the whole of Nigeria quaked with thunderous screams of “goal!”
It was not just any goal; Kanu’s second was plated with gold.
Wild celebrations erupted across Nigeria. People filled the streets, some running stark naked, some lighting up the dark by burning tires. There were drinks aplenty as shops and restaurants reopened to make massive sales. It felt as though Nigeria had already won the tournament.
And that they did. Nigeria went on to beat Argentina 3-2 in the final — with another comeback, of course — , clinching the gold medal and making Olympic football history by becoming the first African team to do so.
After the historic match, forward Sunday Oliseh said, “I guarantee you that as I talk to you now, everyone in Africa is celebrating. There is no sleeping tonight. Everyone will be happy" |

TheSuperNerd: Clearly outside the body, the virus won't survive under a temperature of about 60 degrees Celsius and above. But within the body, once the virus is in, there is actually no "known" way of killing it. The body's immune system just have to fight it off as the patient engage in the treatments leading up to recovery.
So trying to expose your body to high temperature won't actually work. Raising your temperature above the normal 37 degrees Celsius to let's say 45 degrees C (which can kill a man too) still won't kill off the virus (but may see it lose its vialibility but what's the need when the host is already dead at this point).
Even when you drink Hot water/fluids or have a hot bath, it won't exactly change your body temperature which remains stable thanks to homeostasis UNLESS you are ill.
Additionally, I don't think the Human skin can "consistently" endure a 60 degrees C water bath or endure being exposed to a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. wow..I understand now. thanks for the enlightenment |

cc thesupernerd ...and other doctors here
is it possible for human body to get sterilized without any deleterious effect? Am thinking since the virus can't thrive in warm environment, infected people can be healed by increasing their body temperature for like two days. |

safarigirl: chidi, I don't know what kind of soccer analyst you are, but the moment I read this line, I was certain you are blissfully clueless about this virus and you have no business gauging someone else's knowledge
Let me not delve into how pathetic it is, that you would spew the same inane trash that white people have been spreading to make themselves feel better about their own inability to detect this disease.
Even WHO has applauded Africa for their response to the virus, but you believe they too, they don't know what they are talking about. Do you know that European airports were not testing travelers for the virus when they landed? Do you know the American tests go for as much as $3,000? Do you think 80% of the American population could afford testing? It spread because people could not even go to hospitals to get tested, because It was too expensive
Some of you can never believe that the white men you worship are fallible, you will rather believe that Africa is not doing enough, than that Europe/America actually messed up.
Let me tell you, if this virus was actually here, we would know. You know why? Because people would be dying at an alarming rate and someone would have spread word, the same way people were dying in a village in Bayelsa, and we heard it. The same way people died of Lassa fever in Ebonyi and we heard it.
People are not falling and dying, the virus has not spread, Africa is the least affected continent, white people can't believe it, so, they have convinced gullible negros like you, that it is your fault that the cases aren't widespread, that somehow, your government can detect Ebola and Lassa fever, but Corona Virus is too advanced for their minds, that all of you live on trees and in huts, so, you would not be able to detect a virus amongst you.
You are a brainless race, lesser beings, inferior to the caucasoid and mongloid races, you are incapable of handling anything within yourselves. Useless to the world and to yourselves.
Chidi, that line you wrote, is a disgrace to your ancestors. oops...you could have just made your point without insulting the guy. That is bad pls. we all enjoy your analysis here. Carry on |
