HealthRe: The Doctor's Guide To Overseas Training by MovingTrain(m): 7:11am On Sep 01, 2014
lomaxx: Most respectful cephalo-caudal greetings to my chiefs in the house. Straight to the point, the issue of overseas training for the Nigerian doctor has been heralded by a myriad of questions- most unanswered and unattended to. This has necessitated a compendium of what you must know about overseas training as a doctor. I stumbled on an ebook to that effect and it is in the most bit very comprehensive.

So in my usual spirit of doing-the-little-I-can-for-my-fellow-Nigerian-out-there, I'll like to share with medical doctors and students who want to explore career possibilities outside the shores of Nigeria and hopefully come back one day to make the system better than the quagmire it is right now.

The countries covered are United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

For those interested, drop your emails and I'll forward it to you.

Best of luck.
My email is judeokolie@ymail.com
Thanks in anticipation.

HealthRe: JOHESU Sues NMA, Says Doctors Strike Illegal by MovingTrain(m): 8:20am On Jul 17, 2014
This is one of the most dicey matters in recent times. The Nigerian health sector is laden with a time bomb and JOHESU just pulled the plug off another grenade by suing NMA.

Looking at the Hippocratic Oath sworn by doctors and the practise of medicine, one will realise that only very little of that Oath, if any, has been violated.
I can categorically say that no doctor is at home sleeping. They are all working, saving lives somewhere, still having the patients as their primary objective but within the private setting.

Now we must realise that a patient is a patient be it in the public or in the private setting so I could boldly say there's no violation of the oath.

Looking at the claim by JOHESU that NMA is not a registered trade union and as such cannot embark on any industrial action or movement, this can only highlight the exact holistic aim of the union, which is to dethrone the doctor via a professional coup.
They move to distort the sanity in the sector, and yet wants to tie the doctor to his consulting chair.

I wouldn't give a thought to the claim holding waters but peradventure it does, the government, the judiciary, the patients, the general public and every parties involved should realise that

1) There is a contractual agreement between every employer of labour and her employee and if any breach is observed, either party can pull out.

2) Every doctor in the country has the right to decide which sector to work in, be it public or private. It all depends on choice and sanity of the environs.

3) There is no violation/abandonment of the Hippocratic Oath should every doctor in the country decide to practise within the private setting.
This is because the practise of medicine is patient centered and not sector centered..

Etcetera..

The Nigerian Health Sector is highly volatile at the moment and should be approached with utmost caution. I appreciate that both parties have reasonable claims.
Nonetheless, the outcome of this unnecessary/unhealthy professional rivalry is in all our hands.

... And yes, I am a Doctor..
Christianity EtcRe: Catholic Bishop Calls Homophobes 'sick' by MovingTrain(m): 5:06am On Jul 16, 2014
I realise it's either 99% of the people here didn't read the article or didn't understand it..

The Bishop states clearly he's over 100% against homosexual acts and same sex marriages (abortions too) just as the church is but doesn't subscribe to casting those that indulge in them into an abyss..

He believes Homosexuals still deserve respect as human beings but should be looked upon with compassion and prayed for with the hope of redeeming them just the same way Jesus himself looks upon sinners and goes to them.
Remember Jesus says He's not here for the righteous but for the sinners, so should be the Church too.

I just can't fathom if the black race has something innately wrong with her reasoning/understanding or we are always too lazy to read. No offense intended..
HealthRe: When Doctors Go On Strike Death Rate Falls. by MovingTrain(m): 1:14pm On Jul 13, 2014
I personally reason in line with the research findings about death rate when doctors are on strike. It might be lower, granted.

But this has a very simple logical explanation, data and statistics for birth and death are taken in hospitals, when doctors are on strike these sick patients won't visit the hospitals and most probably die at home thus leading to lost statistics.

So yes, RECORDED death rate might be reduced when doctors are on strike but ACTUAL death rate is however increased. It's not rocket science per say..

messi shudnt b among, hasnt bin lively in dis world cup, just scored a few important goals against poor opposition durin d group stages. JAMES RODRIGUES SHOULD WIN IT.he is worthy, then muller
Going by the meaning of the word "Importance", How many important goals did Robben or Muller score?

Messi on the other hand singly qualified Argentina from that "group of poor oppositions" and his passionate drive set up the goal against Switzerland which ensured them a place in the quarter finals..

SportsRe: OPINION: Could The Presence Of Neymar And Thiago Silva Have Changed The Game? by MovingTrain(op): 11:19pm On Jul 08, 2014
abatically: Yes the presence of Neymar and Silva would have made a huge difference. Germany would probably win but it would have been a close one. Brazil rely too much on Neymar to create their chances. He carries the team going forward and he increases their morale. Brazil also lack a true striker..... Fred and Jo are useless I have been shouting all these while.

Thiago Silva at the back has always been the one making David Luiz look good. Without him, Luiz is shyte at the back and that was exposed today. David Luiz is good going forward but he sucks at defending. Thiago's replacement Dante is even worse. Brazil suffered the consequence of building their team around one player (Neymar). Germany on the other hand are more technical. You don't know who is their best player, they play as a team. if u remove Muller they will still play. Remove Kroos, or klose or Ozil, it doesn't stop them playing as a team.
Nice analyses.. We need more views..

But I think they were playing with morale and confidence from the outset @Onlinebizexpert..

Germany is simple better than them.
SportsOPINION: Could The Presence Of Neymar And Thiago Silva Have Changed The Game? by MovingTrain(op):
I have been wondering and would seek expert opinion on this subject matter.

If Neymar and Silva were in the match against Germany, do you think the outcome would have been different?

Personally I think their presence would have mattered very little to the German virulence and as such wouldn't have changed the game..

What do you think fellas??

On the abuse part sir, you are not so far away from the truth. My dad at a point patronized road side, query qualified auto mech/technicians.
As at the time the stepper motor was changed, my 306 was having idling issues as you rightly pointed out sir.
My biggest question now sir is how to revert all this. I don't stay in Abuja to bring it to you. I work in Enugu.
Please help.. Then peradventure all this sensors you mentioned have been butchered off, what next? Would they be so very expensive to replace?
I really want that baby back. Here are some pix..
