Education / Why Is It Difficult Securing An Appointment At Portugal Embassy? by moxiesera: 5:35pm On Jul 27, 2023
Hello people,

I understand most embassies require you to book for an appointment online when applying for Visa to travel, however, I understand some embassies give allowance for walk-in appointments were you pay to get an available slot sooner than waiting particularly in urgent circumstances. Like I know UK embassy allows for that's. But pls why is Portugal embassy different?

I have a friend who just secured admission for a masters program in Portugal and needs to resume school this September. However there seem to be no available slot on the Portugal embassy website portal till December. He even called the embassy to ask if he could pay for walk-in appointment and they said he has to book online that they don't do walk-in and there is no other way for him.

Please any advise for my friend? Kindly share any related experience you might have had🙏

And it came to pass!!!! I’m a testimony of grace and determination.

2017: Dropped at Personality stage
2018:Dropped at Verification stage
2019:Dropped at Verification stage again
2020:Offer letter came in!!!!!

I had received countless rejection letters from various companies that at some point I lost confidence in myself. It was like my hard work wasn’t paying off and it wasn’t easy reassuring myself.

Nevertheless, I was ready to improve on my skills given the little opportunities I could find. From volunteering at a relative’s newly formed firm, to running an internship program at a multi-cultural environment. And today , I can smile and say, Never give up on yourself.

Please there is a place for prayers, but also, you have to be informed and smart about the recruitment process. While some may go through the process seamlessly, not everyone is naturally gifted (U understand what I mean). So for future reference, work diligently with the informations that are available on this thread and you are good to go!!!

Ask questions. When it come to the personality test, you have to be consistent and meet PwC’s expectations. Also, there are questions to test if your are honest, so don’t go and choose statements that are over exaggerated (E.g I ALWAYS trust the people around me).

Lastly, for the interview, rehearse the questions with someone that is experienced and would give you their honest feedback. And where possible, write out your responses. Prepare adequately and you will find yourself flow naturally during the interview. Also, be calm, cause anxiety could be your greatest enemy.

Lastly, when it’s time it’s time. Everyone’s timing is different. Sometimes your delay is cause God wants you to learn vital lessons of life. But when it’s time, even you will know that the job is yours.

For those that didn’t make it through, try again next year and also try other places. Most importantly, DON’T BE IDLE!!!!. Even if it’s an internship or volunteering experience give it a try. Also, remember the experience you need to build for yourself given the various possible behavioral questions that could be asked.

If you got a rejection mail, may God comfort you. Don’t give up, okay?

Mixed feelings everywhere.

Judgement week.. I've been fighting with two spirits for the past one week. One keeps telling me not to worry and the other one keeps telling me where I messed up.

Las Las, we go dey alright

You are quite fearful and I understand the feeling. I mean, I can say that intuition could sometimes come out true especially when you know you’re telling yourself the truth . But dear, at this point, worrying cannot change anything. And yes, positivity is the best disposition but also, failure is not the end of the world! So have a free mind and hope for the best!! Even if you are not selected, you could always try again or better still God could grant you a greater opportunity. Cheers!!!

LOOOOL. I guess you must have checked my profile. Honestly I agree with you as someone may get easily confuse. i will tell you my dynamism but my account will be deleted or changed after this recruitment.

I started changing behaviour for fun when I entered Unilever Trend. Something just happen to the point that I lied. Yes I lied I must admit. But when I was criticised, i immediately opened up and begged the group since it wasn,t right.

My normal self is, it is not bad to give tips about what happened in interviews for others to benefit especially to those that are naive after all that is the purpose of Nairaland. When i mean tips-- i meant the structure of the question by giving example without saying the main question which is a lot better than what I have experienced in this trend as some went as far as saying the real qustions. That was the reason i said that whatever we have experienced in this trend as never happened in PWC Nairaland until all interviews are concluded.

So when a guy came here to insult me unreasonably ( I dont know if it is you as i am not sure if the person as changed account), considering what others have done-----I had to counter him immediately because he did not do what you just did.

Please regardless, let’s just have peace on this thread and hope for the best outcome.

We have all benefited from this thread in one way or the other. While some chose to share the details, others gave highlights and some have been completely silent. But it’s all fine!!

At the end of the day, it’s your personality and what you say to the interviewers that will earn you the job. So let’s just wait for the results in peace.

All the best to those awaiting interview!!!!

HEHEHE. With all this listing of questions which have never happened before on Nairaland until after the deadline attended interviews, I can assure you that anybody still having interview from monday onwards will automatically pass, no excuse, except if the person does not have communication skills, network problem or low experience at school and work. How I wished my interview is this week or next week, the interviewer will faint in pleasure LOL

Spot on!!! You have to just be your best self and prepare your best, given the informations that are available. But also, it’s all about you, so if you have really prepared well and you have the experience- work, school, volunteer, family owned business or even church Please be prepared to share it cause it all ends there.

I mean it’s very competitive and whatever would sell you as thé best fit you shouldn’t even be shy or anxious about saying it.

And don’t let the 1st stage destabilize you. Take your time to think, first note sharp points that come to mind on your paper then start to talk. Don’t hold back and make sure you end with confidence!! That lunches you to a great second phase.

I’m hustling like you all, this is my 4th time of trying the recruitment process but 1st time I’m getting to the interview stage. Whether I got all questions right or not, one thing I did not allow to get in my way was fear. So pls be calm.

And yeah, it’s a SHE talking, so trust me when I say relax

All the best!!!

The site is much better now. The passport that kept showing "processing image quality" finally went through and i have successfully submitted the application. I guess the traffic was really bad and that was also the reason for the invalid email or password error. kiss

Please eat before you leave the house o, got to my venue by 8:10 am and finished my interview by 4:30pm, hunger almost finished me...

I discovered that a lot of persons didn't scale through the quantitave section in my set, this may be attributed to the fact that calculator were not allowed. You know how annoying and time wasting it could be when you are trying to divide big numbers.

My advice is this practice many fraction question, probability, simple interest, business maths, sets, what are complementary angles n supplementary angles, any business maths you come across. In order to be fast wen multiplying or dividing learn to how to divide through by 10 to reduce the numbers.

The questions were not difficult by it's really easy to fail... thanks to the guys that shared materials with Me, may God bless you

Successes everyone, bye for now
