@moyeb If you really have a good job job like you said to be able to sponsor family members abroad and also visit sometimes yourself, I would advice you not to ruin that opportunity by travelliing to us.when you get to us the first shock you will meet is how to legalize your stay, nobody is ready to give you a single dollar or show you support like we do here in Nigeria. The second shock is the kind of demeaning job you will find yourself doing just to pay bills and survive and not saving up anything even 1k dollars which is ordinary 350 k naira. They don't recognize the degree you came with from Nigeria.I can go on and on.In a nutshell don't mess up the good life you have in Nigeria.I am advising based on personal experience. The choice is yours
Dear aariwa,
Thank you for your advice.I never said I want to leave my job.Secondly,I'm aware of all you just said.I was talking about sending my wife and two kids which we've already commenced the process.I will leave my job at the right moment when all is sorted out.
Remember,we all have plans.

My wife was almost crying cuz we both responded well to all the questions asked but i strongly believe its bcuz we have no travel experience though this is my fourth appearance but 1st as a family.

Thinking of going to Dubai for a week and later reapply by August cuz our intention is to deliver our second child in America.

What do you think house. Your advises most welcome
Hello Tiwatayo,
We share similar experience when I first got to the US embassy with my wife and son in 2015.Then I had travelled to Italy and some european countries on my own but my wife and son had a virgin passport with no international tavel experience. The VO asked if we had travelled together as a family and we said No.Next thing he told us that we werent qualified for the visa.Knowing the reason we were denied the visa, the following weeks I prepared our documents and applied for a South African Visa which we got.we travelled to Cape Town for 2weeks in october,2015.
By Sept of 2016,we reapplied for the US visa.My wife was already 2months pregnant. We got there and it didnt take so much questioning the visa was given to us.
My advice, take a family trip somewhere.Reapply again.By the way,Prepare yourself very well concerning your wifes pregnancy cos it could be one reason you'd be denied again.Make your intentions clear.

BlowJobs:
A word of advise for Nigerian youths (University undergraduates, graduates, Corpers and recently employed youth).

If you plan to migrate ( you look forward to it, dream about it, Nigeria frustrates you, you get depressed with the situation going on in Nigeria), Migrate while you are young and have all the strength to "struggle". Don't wait till you get older. Don't wait and keep hoping Nigeria will get better (it might never be). it is best you achieve your dreams now and acquire so much skill so that when that time comes and Nigeria is better, you have so much to give back to Nigeria (or it is best you have options so that when you move back to Nigeria, if things don't work, you can bring out your foreign passport and leave at ease)

Don't be that person at 40 years old running from Embassy to Embassy.
Don't be that person at 40years old looking for ways to move his/her family outside Nigeria. Don't be that person writing English test, GRE, GMAT, Filling out Immigration questionnaire at 37years old. DO IT NOW if you really look forward to migrating. The time to start is NOW!!!

you only have one life to live. Do you wanna live it with constant Electricity or Generator noise?. The choice is yours.

For married/ Family people, I really don't have an advise for you. I just hope you have the skills, Experience and qualifications that will open doors and opportunities for you. That is the only thing you can depend on when thinking about Migrating

BJ
I must say your thread has inspired me so much.Though I have a good job here at home but the life isnt what you call life.I want my wife and kids to live in the US.My daughter is a US citizen,my son isnt.I am also pushing my kid bro to go for his masters in the US with me sponsoring him.My wife/son spent 5months in the US and I can tell you I really want them back there to live without coming back to Naija.I visited twice during the period she went for childbirth and saw things for myself. Some of my friends left their jobs to migrate over.Thank you for the thread.Oh!by the way,I screenshot your interview and sent to a friend to have an idea.

Goodafternoon guys,Myself, wife and child(3yrs) just got B1/B2 visa to the U.S 2 weeks ago.The thing is this was our second attempt after we were denied the first time. When we were asked at the embassy if my wife was pregnant we said NO,but she is already 15weeks pregnant and we intend to go to the U.S for childbirth. The fear of being denied for the second time made us lie which we weren't supposed to do as it wasn't obvious.I want to ask if we need to write the embassy a letter of intent or we just go ahead with doctors arrangements et al?
