Elai147: When there is more than a 10% fall in the equity market, it is called stock market correction. More than a 20% fall is termed stock market crash. The market has lost close to 20% already. What is currently happening could be a temporal reversal. However, even in 2008 market crash, people where still making money. So if you know what you are doing, you may do some JIJO and make some money. We should however apply caution (just in case we are heading to a crash) because if you have never experienced a stock market crash before, it is better to learn from other people's experience instead of learning the hard way. If you be babe, I fit kiss you cos of this post. I'm done with advise here cos most folks here don't like it. So let's just have fun.... |

UkwuAmu: U be veteran na . it takes a lot of maturity to hold money and do nothing . I do not want to buy at the lowest price . I want to buy at a low stable price. Its not like the market is going to regain all this losses in a month. I remember during the last 2008 crash, when the prices of Unic, Guinea ins, IEI were coming down, I jumped in when the thing paused a little thinking..I don hammer.... only for the Grand papa and grand mama bear to show and dragged them from 3.5 to 0.50. I managed to sell Unic and Guinea at a very heavy loss but IEI still dey with me till today. Anyway, if I no learn from my own experience, when I wan take learn? |

UkwuAmu: Some people have sold and have cash in hand and their palms are itchy. They will throw the money in the market again and incur more losses . Irrational exuberance of the highest order . There is time to do nothing and just hold cash and the time is now.The falling of prices haven't started yet. there will be more falls . I am not sounding like a prophet of doom but just trying not to be emotional. You may think you would have made a bargain with what you are buying now but lets review these prices in 2 weeks .What has changed between yesterday and today? The Naira is still falling to the point where i think devaluation is the next option . Crude oil prices still falling, politicians hoarding and saving monies for campaigns. Some stocks are still overvalued, Foreign investors are selling off equities and people think the market is rebounding. This market will bottom off like 3 times before the real one. This is phase 2. Invest carefully. If you do you DD and with a little bit of luck, you will become a new millionaire . Spot on bro, spot on I'm kinda surprised that I'm not moved to buy unlike before. I noticed the yields on treasury bills and bonds have been dropping seriously which COULD be that the Foreign investors are buying fixed income securities with proceeds from equities. Spot on bro. |
