Requirements

1. 2–3 years’ experience in LAN/WLAN installation and general computer networking.
2. Minimum 2:2 or Lower Credit
3. Strong knowledge of computer hardware/software installation and troubleshooting.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

It's not a company like that, someone got a drilling contract and employed about 200 workers to executive the job so no ID card or offer letter. My fear with drilling jobs is that it's mostly contract based, once the oil well is drilled, everyone goes home.

Take it bro... That experience will give you an edge to land another role in the oil and gas sector.... Whenever you go to the field, try as my much as possible to build connections with other engineers.

But the contractor is supposed to give you an engagement letter though.

Hello, i am confused i am a graduate with a bachelor degree in engineering, i resigned my peanut engineering paying job so i can get into
business, specifically phone repair business (flashing + unlocking phones) and maybe sell phone as well, only for me to get a job offer of working for an oil drilling company with a 200k salary, the job as no employment letter or company ID card and it's a 3week on 1week off job.

I started having double thoughts, from my experience most salary jobs in Nigeria are rubbish and I've read so many bad things about oil drilling jobs but at the same time businesses do fold up and sometimes it feels like flashing phones for a living is not a lucrative business, it feel kind of unserious.

I am just confused, don't know what to do at this point. Please i need advice

The company ought to have sent official offer letter and prepared a work ID for you. I'd believe the company offers drilling services to clients and maybe it's a start-up.
Before you take a final decision, Request for the offer letter. If after you made the request and they refused, then don't resume. But if you're given the letter, accept it.
Yes, the salary is not much, but you can leverage the experience to get a better offer after sometime....

Omo you're mixing up things. What I know is GTs in banks earn 400-500k currently (UBA, Access and GTB). It's on the job training and they pay normal. It goes higher after trainee period. Oil and gas can't be any different unless they are not payed salaries but allowance only which I doubt. Please fact check before you reply.

Bros go and make your research. Banks don't pay that much while you're in training school.

And just so you know, most indigenous servicing companies don't pay much during training period. In fact, Dover even told applicants that the salary is between 150k to 200k during the training period in the interview

I know what you mean. What we're talking about here is the exact Graduate trainee salary not allowance. Some GTs don't pay salaries during the short training spell. They pay allowance. So the main salary is what we're talking about.

Yes Dover is an indigenous oil and gas company but their staffs are well taken care of. Do your research and you'll find out that not a single full time staff is complaining about their salary. It's only the contract staffs that complain and wish they could be paid like full time staffs. It's a happy company to work with as per reviews.

In the bank, graduate trainees don't earn up to such during their training period... It is after confirmation that they're paid such high figures. Go and make your research...

Dover is an indigenous oil servicing company so don't expect much for a start....

This is not true. Training period is between 150k to 200k. It may get up to the 400k you quoted after confirmation

The assessments that we were told to do on or before April 1st is still under review by the local HRs in Nigeria. We will be contacted if we make it to the interview stage. It simply means no one has been called for the interview after the online assessments.
