In few weeks time,APGA will conduct primaries to nominate a candidate for Anambra Central senatorial district.

As we all know,three aspirants are in the running for the ticket of the party.A former Senator and national chairman of the party,a serving house of reps member and a former Chief protocol officer/deputy chief of staff to the Governor of the state.

Ordinarily,one would rate the first two as the clear favourites to clinch the party ticket because they have contested elections before and have been on the ballot for different elections in the senatorial district.

Surprisingly,in a swift turn of events,that is not the case today.The tide has eventually turned and indeed the initial under-dog have become the clear favourite to win the primary election next month.

This is because of the massive support and endorsement from party faithfuls and stakeholders of different strata.

In the 7 local government in Anambra Central,the message is the same amongst party faithfuls and that is "We want Uzuegbuna Okagbue".

The support and prayers have been massive and decisive,this is because UZU OKAGBUE has three things working for him;One is wisdom God gave him,Second is the grace of God upon his life and the third is the good will of the people which is enormous.All these he has in quantum.

This he exhibited once more when he singlehandedly built an ultra-modern health centre in his town Umunnachi which was named Ogugua Chike Okagbue primary health centre in honour of his mother.

As a man who is committed to the welfare of his people,he felt the need to erect such beneficial edifice to ameliorate the sufferings of the women in his town who had to travel to nearby towns to access primary health care services.


While commissioning the edifice, Governor Obiano, who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala rated the health center as among the three best out of the 575 health centers in the state.

In his remarks, Uzuegbuna Okagbue said that the gesture was in fulfilment of his promise in 2017, to erect a medical outfit that will solve the health challenges facing his people.


UZU Okagbue, who erected the center in his mother’s village, Nagbana, Umunnachi, christened it after his mother as a mark of honour and urged other meaningful individuals in the community, to borrow a leaf from the gesture and attract projects that will impact on the people positively.
