4.99ers seem to disappear in the real world to a corner of an office |
We have to rethink everything from the bottom up and start to celebrate the students that can boost of patents , creations and solutions to real life problems. |
Still patiently Waiting for Mr. Seun's feedback |

But these our 4.99 GPA people are not worthy of such in my own opinion because all they did is la-cram la-pour . Nothing that will help our society is done so why should we celebrate them? |
For instance when Dbanj or Whizkid achieves a fit internationally . I see reason to celebrate with them because they are transcending our countries image by creating something beautiful and sharing it across the world |
Every other week there's a story on the front page about a certain student of a certain school that managed to get a 4.99 GPA either in an intentional school or a local school. Every time we celebrate them for their academic achievement then they disappear from the spot light like a poof of smoke. What happens to them afterwards? Do they use their so-called intelligence and intellect to advance us as a country? Why then do we celebrate them? |
Seun:Wow, welcome sir. I'm a huge fan of your site and quiet persona. I know Nairaland is not facebook nor is it Craigslist but it serves almost the same purpose. Linda ikeji recently did something I was expecting you to do. Except she went ahead (maybe backwards only time can tell) to label it with her name. Please visit her site and see how much interaction you will get as soon as you sign up and get a little following. I know you are doing a great job on hosting and maintaining this site. But there's so much more to be done. This sight contains so much data on Nigeria and it's people. I know Nairaland is a forum but I think it's time you transcend it and make more use of graphics. The articles on the front page should be displayed with graphics. If you are concerned about the data it will cost us users, please don't we are no longer in 2005 where internet connection was extremely slow and expensive. So this is what I want for our dear Nairaland because in honest truth Nairaland no longer belongs to you many of us have committed our lives to site in the form of our thoughts, advice, life experiences and so much more. 1. I would like us to have a front page like yahoo.com front page. That's where all the news and gist that are eligible for the front page would be redesigned and packaged beautifully. 2. Before an article makes front page, it most have a minimum about of likes in its directory/section. Not just because snake is in the story or because people are clamoring la-la name like a houseboy. 3. I need you to get a new CSS professional that will assist you with the look of the site. You are not Craigslist whereby your users are in their mid 30s and thus will find change difficult to adapt to. Our members here are in their early 20s. If you used WordPress I believe there are alot of buddypress themes you can make use of. Just like Linda's so called Developer, he didn't do anything he only used a buddypress plugin for WordPress to get her the site she desired. 4. The forum section needs more vector graphics and buttons. There is too much text all over your site. For instance instead of writing autos you can simply show a car icon. Same thing goes for health text you can show a Pill vector icon. Cut down on the words all over people understand symbols too. 5. Nairaland some times is more like Afriland let's promote this ideology. Let's go out and do real marketing. Let's go to schools and sponsor and promote coding. Let's really make Nairaland a ubiquitous brand. We can place stickers, posters and banners in strategic places. We can even advertise on other foreign social networking sites in a bid to get our users to keep returning. Facebook does it alot by advertising on Yahoo We can have a random invitation to an exclusive nairaland party where members of this site will be selected arbitrarily to connect with one another and mingle with the admins. Nairaland should be the go to source for the Nigerian audience not twitter nor facebook nor instagram do you know how much money Nigerian companies pay in advertising to these social network sites just to reach out to their own Nigerian consumers. It's a shameful amount of money we export annually. I WANT NAIRALAND TO DOMINATE NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA AND THE WHOLE AFRICA before we take over the world. I sincerely believe it is possible. |
We can't continue like this o. I have been with this site for more than eight years mostly as a guest. This site has so much potential and can serve the whole Africa and Africans generally in diaspora. Seun if it's money you want for publicity and marketing strategies some of your faithful members are ready to assist you. It's quite disheartening that facebook is just your senior by a year and yet it's all over the world but our nairaland is not even all over west Africa. If are using WordPress I believe their are many beautiful themes out there. Let's us help you |

@fabulocity I just read your post on "10 reasons not to date.... ". So I know better than to stoop low and start exchanging words with you. This article is directed at the men in the house not the under-aged girls. |
Fabulocity:they have come again this morning with nothing to explain their point of view but only abuse. |
