Politics / Traditional Rulers In Abia Petition Buhari, Demand Kanu’s Father’s Whereabouts by mrBN: 6:14pm On Dec 13, 2017
Traditional rulers from three communities in Afaraukwu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, have demanded a panel of enquiry to investigate the role of the Nigerian Army in the invasion of the home of the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu autonomous community, HRH Eze Israel Kanu.

Eze Kanu is the father of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The communities -Okwulaga Enyiukwu and Isiama autonomous communities – had petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, claiming they had yet to see HRH Kanu; his wife , Lolo Sally; and some of his subjects after his palace was raided by the army on September 14.

The petition was signed by the President-Generals of the three autonomous communities in Afara clan – Levi Ogbonna, Cletus Uwaechi and Chief Ikechukwu Ndubueze.

The monarchs alleged in the petition, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Umuahia on Tuesday, that some members of the community were still missing since the military raid, heightening fears that they might have been killed and their bodies taken away by the invaders along with the IPOB members.

The communities demanded that the army should be compelled to produce their traditional ruler, who they have not seen since his house was raided.

They also demanded full compensation for the desecration of the palace and the return of household items allegedly carted away from the palace by the soldiers.

The petition partly read, “That since September 14, 2017 the whereabouts of one of our traditional ruler, HRH Eze I. O. Kanu, and members of his family, including some members of Isiama Afaraukwu community, are still unknown.”

Politics / Re: Obiano Running Anambra State Like A “beer Parlour” - Kalu by mrBN: 9:21pm On Nov 12, 2017
Alariiwo:

Huge profits in your wild dreams.

You need to leave SW your comfort zone and go back home to see how your people are living. Stop reading propaganda and lies online.

Thank you for telling him/her the hard truth
Politics / Obiano Running Anambra State Like A “beer Parlour” - Kalu by mrBN: 5:59pm On Nov 12, 2017
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, The former Governor of Abia State and an All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain in the South East, has taken a swipe at the Anambra State governor, Willie Obiano.

Kalu said Obiano is known for his excessive and expensive love for the bottles, thereby wondering why such person became a governor in the first place in a premium state like Anambra.

The Newtelegraph, quoted Kalu as said this while flagging off campaign rally for Dr. Tony Nwoye, an APC gubernatorial candidate for Nov, 18 election in the state.

Kalu described any attempt at continuing the spent and inebriated government of Anambra State as unacceptable.

Speaking at the Campaign rally at Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area of the state, Dr. Kalu said, Anambra, as the heartbeat of the Igbo nation and home of sane and sound intellectuals, cannot be run like a “beer parlour.”

According to him, the issue with Obiano is not about his constant a hangover, but he equally failed in making any meaningful impact as a governor for three and half years in office and therefore should be voted out.

Kalu challenged the people of Anambra to take over the opportunity offered to them on November 18 to correct the mistake of having a failed governor, to elect a very young and former student leader, Hon. Dr. Tony Nwoye, who is the APC candidate in the poll.

Dr. Kalu stated that Dr. Tony Nwoye, being a young man has a cerebral fecundity with acute prowess in ideas and innovative solutions to take Anambra State to a greater height.

“I performed very well as a governor in Abia State because I was young then, and now the people of Anambra must vote a young man for the state to move forward,’’ Dr. Kalu said.

Politics / Anambra Election: "Ipob’s Threat Should Not Be Taken Serious - Okosa by mrBN: 10:30am On Nov 12, 2017
The President, Ivory Friends Club of Nigeria, Hon. Ikechukwu Okosa has boasted that not even the proscribed members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB can stop the Anambra governorship election.

This is as he advised the political parties and candidates taking part in next Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Anambra State not to see the election as a do-or-die affair.

The Akudigwe of Uke in Idemili North local government area of Anambra State, Hon. Ikechukwu Okosa, in a recent chat with newsmen says stakeholders should regard the election as part of the effort to strengthen the nation’s democracy.

He said; "My hope is that we will have a peaceful election. Anambra people are peaceful. Therefore the expectation of all including myself is that everybody in the state, regardless of political affiliation, must strive to uphold the values of peace, unity and brotherliness we are known for.

"We should not allow the election to cause acrimony or division among us. It must not be a do-or-die affair. All the stakeholders, including INEC, the political parties and the candidates must play the roles expected of them very well. If they can do this, there will be no cause to fear.

Speaking on the Nnamdi Kanu’s IPOB threat that there would be no election in Anambra, Okosa said;

"IPOB’s threat should not be taken serious. I see the IPOB statement as mere threat which should not be taken serious. IPOB was only trying to wage psychological warfare.

"There is no cause for alarm. Just as the Federal Government and the Ohanaeze had assured, I also want to assure our people in Anambra that no individual, group or organization can stop them from exercising their fundamental human right by trooping out that day to vote for a  candidate of their choice.

Advising the IPOB members on what to do, Okosa said; "IPOB should keep its peace. Its members should not try to create confusion. Anambra people are ready to exercise their fundamental human right; no IPOB member should try anything funny.

Sports / The Totality Of Nigeria World Cup History; The Untold Stories by mrBN: 5:48pm On Nov 11, 2017
The 2018 FIFA World Cup that will be taking place in the home of Vladimir Putin, Russia will never take place without the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they have taken care of all the stumbling blocks on their way by beating teams like Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia.

This article will not dwell on futuristic flimsy predictions, but rather on historical expository and existential facts and figures that will eschew all erroneously adopted positions of glory that doesn’t exist and reinvigorate all uncelebrated glory that has gone unnoticed as a result of lofty historical omissions in our documentary archives.

Nigeria and Nigerians had zero history in the world cup until 22years ago precisely 1994 in the United States of America. The world cup was 64 years old when Nigeria first participated in it and Nigeria as a country was 34 years old as at then. Participating in a tournament that is 30 years older than someone is not easy, but that did not stop the trailer load of positive expectations from Nigerians at home who believed that having conquered Africa for the second time in Tunisia 1994, it will not be that bad to compete at the world cup.

Take a look at these facts and figures: the world cup was 64 years old (1930-1994), Nigeria was 34 years old (1960-1994), the Dutch coach that was handling the eagles then, Clement Westerhof was 54 years old(1940-1994). What is so special about 4? Away from that, the coming of Westerhof in 1989 wasn’t far from when the teams nickname was changed from Green Eagles to Super Eagles after the lost Morocco 1988 Nations Cup. The Dutch coach narrowly lost the qualification bid for Italy 1990 World Cup because he was recently appointed. But in 1994 he did it.

Do not be deceived by the joy and euphoria of those who saw when the Super Eagles qualified for their first world cup and believe it was so easy to qualify. It wasn’t easy at all as Nigeria’s first world cup tournament was gotten as a result of superior goal difference we had over Ivory Coast.

In 1992, Nigeria began its quest to qualify for her first-ever FIFA World Cup, which would be held in the United States two years later. Placed in a group with South Africa and Congo, Nigeria finished top of its group in the first round, winning 3 games and drawing 1, and did not concede a single goal in all 4 games.

For the second and final round, Nigeria was grouped with Ivory Coast and Algeria. The Super Eagles won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 1, and finished equal with Ivory Coast on points but advanced to the World Cup with a superior goal difference.

THE 1994 WORLD CUP DETAILS

In the tournament proper, Nigeria was in Grpup-D. We played 4 matches, scored 7 goals and conceded 4 goals. Nigeria’s first world cup match was played on June 21 1994 in Cotton Bowl, Dallas under the officiating power of a Costarican referee, Rodrigo Badilla. The match was played in the presence of 44,132 spectators. Bulgaria was beaten 3-0 with goals from Rasheed Yekini, Daniel Amokachi and Emmanuel Amunike.

Nigeria’s first world cup goal was scored in that tournament by legendary Rasheed Yekini. It took Nigeria just 21 minutes of play to register her name in the score sheet of nations that have scored at the world cup. Amokachi made it 2 -0 at 43 minutes. In the second half precisely 55 minute, Emmanuel Amunike buried Bulgaria and Nigeria had her first 3 points in the FIFA World Cup. Don’t forget the date: 21 June 1994 Cotton Bowl, Dallas USA.

In the second match on June 25 at Foxborough, it was a bigger crowd, a bigger test and a bigger match. The game took place with 54,453 spectators watching referee Bo Karlsson of Sweden officiate the first world cup match between Argentina and Nigeria. The match was settled in the first half as Samson Siasia’s 8 minute goal was cancelled by the ever dribbling Claudio Caniggia in 21 minute and Caniggia later nailed the Super Eagles to their first defeat in the second match at the 28 minutes of that game.

The third game was at the same foxborough stadium with 53,001 spectators watching referee Leslie Mottram of Scotland officiate between Nigeria and Greece on the 30 June 1994. The Super Eagles won that one with 2 unreplied goals courtesy of Finidi George and Daniel Amokachi. Another interesting thing in this match was that the 2 goals came at additional times of either halves. Finidi scored in 45+2 minutes while Amokachi scored in the 90+5 minutes.

The journey ended on July 5, 1994 when 54,367 spectators gathered at the Foxborough stadium to watch referee Arturo Brizio Carter of Mexico take charge of the Super Eagles against the Azzuris of Italy led by Legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi. Emmanuel Amunike scored in the 25 minutes, but Eagles couldn’t survive just 2 minutes of normal time as Legendary Roberto Baggio equalized in the 88 minute and nailed the Super Eagles during the extra time with penalty at 102 minutes.

Business / Why I Can’t Invest In Aba – Mark Essien by mrBN: 8:09am On Nov 10, 2017
The founder of Hotels.ng, Mark Essien, has stated reasons why he cannot currently invest his money in Aba.

The Akwa Ibom State born ‘Software Developer’ who was in Aba, Abia State yesterday in attendance to #Startupsouth3, revealed this while undergoing an interview on stage regarding ‘Tech and Investment’ in Aba and South-South/South-East beyond.

Essien was called up on stage to speak on why investors should start investing in Aba, and the areas he thinks Investors should focus on. According to him, there is a huge market in Aba where investors can benefit a lot bigger, but right now he can’t invest in Aba.

It should be recalled that the state government led by governor Okezie Ikpeazu had recently flagged off a campaign called “Made-In-Aba fashion show in order to lure investors to invest in Aba market.

But speaking on why he said he can’t invest his money in Aba, he said, because the market on ground is not his type of play field.

Mark said, “to me, Aba is huge and has a lot of potentials to invest on, but I can’t put my money here, I can’t invest here, it’s not my type of business.

The Tech guru who was invited by the team of Startupsouth, mainly as an investor, to see if there are parts he could be interested to invest in Aba local manufacturers, further explained that if it’s a “Real Estate” Investment, he would have been the first go for it. He added that with the level of decayed environment in Aba, he did not find it worthy for any investor to invest his money here.

“We Investors do invest our money where we are sure of it, he said, while adding that shoe making is not his type of business and he can’t invest in it.

Contrary to that, other investors and speakers who spoke on the issues of investing in Aba pointed out the areas where the government needs to work on in order to drive investors to the city.

According to them, the government needs to give the local manufacturers an enabling environment to help their business thrive, including good roads, steady power supply and stop the excess collection of tax and levies.

Meanwhile, Startupsouth, an event that connects, exposes and attracts investment to startups and founders operating within the south-south/southeast ended in an awesome way in Aba, as a winner emerged.

In every annual startupsouth event, a winner must emerge whose invention/product must beat other startup pitchers.

This year, 2017 annual event, the winner goes to Team Touchabl pictures, the team won $500 dollars price including other recognition and the exposure for investors to invest in their startup.

Politics / FG Must Produce Nnamdi Kanu – Ohanaeze Ndigbo Declares by mrBN: 6:24am On Nov 04, 2017
Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has charged the Federal government to investigate the sudden disappearance of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr Nnamdi Kanu.

The organization said the Federal Government must be ready to produce Kanu as he suddenly disappeared from his residence after the military staged the operation python dance in his compound at Afaraukwu in Abia State.

Addressing a press conference in Akure, the Ondo State capital, the Secretary of the organization in the state, Prince Erondu Uche also urged Nigerians who know the whereabouts of Kanu to assist the government in finding him.

He said “although the Ohanaeze Ndigbo does not support Kanu’s agitation, the fact remains that he is an Igbo man, and as Igbo apex socio-cultural organization, we hold it a duty to know his whereabouts, hence the call on the Federal Government to produce him.”

Uche who said that the current challenges facing Nigeria which includes insecurity, agitations, corruption, poverty and marginalization call for urgent attention by the Federal Government, also stressed the need for patriotism among all Nigerians.

He stressed that the country can only move forward if all Nigerians unite and work together for the progress of the country. Also, he stressed the need for those in government to be transparent and dedicated in order to earn the trust of the governed.

“There should be no ‘sacred cows’ in the fight against corruption; there should be respect for the rule of law by all. Henceforth, the violation of our people’s human right under any guise should stop immediately,” he stressed.

He added that “the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari should ensure that only the services of competent people are employed without nepotism.” Also, he advised the Presidency to take the clamour for restructuring more serious, noting that the issue is being handled with levity.

While making case for the restructuring of the country, Uche said the call for restructuring should be exclusively championed by President Muhammadu Buhari in the overall interest of all Nigerians, adding that “the first restructuring we need is restructuring of our minds.”

He hinted that the organization has produced an album which was dedicated for the country in order to promote the unity of the nation.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Will Flee To UK And Leave Behind Broken Bodies And Damaged Youths by mrBN: 2:10pm On Sep 13, 2017
The South East Renewal Group (SERG) has blamed the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, for the recent altercation between the Nigeria army and Kanu’s followers.

The SERG, in a statement exclusively sent to NAIJ, claimed that the violent clash is as Kanu’s constant hate speech and preaching to his followers.

The group said that the IPOB leader has brainwashed his followers to start seeing the Nigeria army as enemies rather than protectors.

Charles Mbani, the national president of the group said: “You must have, like other Nigerians, watched recent events in Igboland with a sense of foreboding, concern and utmost dread. Images emerging from the southeast, our homeland, are as troubling as they are worrisome with the most recent being those of youths attacking military detachment with all manners of crude weapons including catapults, cudgels, machetes, sticks and others.

“These youths are being put up to this mischief after being brainwashed by the so called Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which is now militarizing them as its fighting force. These misguided youths have been deceived into thinking they are making the right sacrifice of protecting Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader whereas the only thing they sacrificing is their lives that they are throwing away on the alter of ignorance.

“The soldiers attacked by these uncouth elements are the ones taking part in Egwu Eke II (Operation Python Dance II), which we find most ridiculous considering that the same operation last year ensured that kidnappers and armed robbers that were desecrating our land were curtailed to a point where Igbos enjoyed peaceful 2016 Yuletide. We are therefore wondering if there is a nexus between IPOB and the crimes being eradicated by the military for its youths to become virulent on the scale being witnessed.

“We urge other well meaning elders of our land to join in condemning the incidents. The unnecessary attempt to provoke the military into using stick to address the Biafra issue would be catastrophic and those who love the region should do so well to warn their children from setting region ablaze.”

He called on Igbo leaders to speak up and put an end to the confrontation between IPOb members and the Nigerian army before it will degenerate into a war.

He said: “May we emphasise that Igbo leaders of thought must tarry no further in doing the needful before it’s too late. The conspiracy of silence on the part of these leaders is what has made Nnamdi Kanu fill the resulting vacuum as a demagogic evil that is leading out youth population astray. This disposition of indifference was displayed as the hate speech championed by Kanu gained momentum until it got to a point where other ethnic groups in Nigeria basically developed a morbid collective disdain for the Igbo.

“The hate speech has now crystalized and is the bedrock of the aggression being exhibited against the military. It nothing urgent is done the next phase in this ugly evolution could threaten our existence as a people.

“We have interrogated the situation and discovered that the IPOB youths have been brainwashed into seeing the army as the enemy, which is most unfortunate since the person whom they think they are defending is their real enemy. Nnamdi Kanu holds dual citizenship and will escape to the United Kingdom once he has the opportunity to flee across the border. He is going to leave behind broken bodies and damaged youths that would have destroyed their lives in pursuit of what is meaningless relative to contemporary world reality.

Politics / If Elected Leader Fails To Deliver Good Governance, Chase Him, Stone Him - Ogah by mrBN: 1:18pm On Aug 20, 2017
The President of Masters Energy group, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah has charged Nigerians to sit up and start asking questions from their elected leaders.

Ogah said he believes in the people and the people are the power! According to him, one of the biggest problems in Nigeria today is because the people are not asking questions from the leaders they elected into public offices.

Dr. Ogah, who was the former gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 election in Abia State, stated this when he received the members of the Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria, Abia State Chapter (AMPON), in his Onuaku home, in Isiukwuato LGA, Abia State.

Speaking with the journalists, Ogah said, "I think one of the major problem in Nigeria today is because we the masses are not asking questions from the people we elected into public offices, how they are managing our public funds, which supposed to be used in giving us good governance.

"It's time people should sit up and start asking questions, demand a better governance from the elected leaders because we voted for them. Any elected leaders who did not deliver his mandate properly should be chased out when he comes to our constituency to campaign.

"Let's start acting, I believe if we start acting, the elected leaders will know that the people are the power.

Family / Bleeding After Childbirth: What Every Mothers Must Know by mrBN: 3:16pm On Jul 29, 2017
Postpartum Hemorrhage is the leading cause of death and morbidity relating to uncontrolled bleeding that occurs when the womb doesn't contract as it should be after childbirth. Childbirth involves blood loss, there's no way around it because it is the way woman's body expels excessive mucus placental issues and blood after giving birth.

How much blood a woman loss is however, important. Excessive bleeding (in which a maxi pad is soaked in less than one hour). Medically referred to as postpartum hemorrhage is dangerous.

In Nigeria, not less than 70,000 women die from pregnancy and childbirth complications every year, and at least 25% of these death are due to excessive bleeding. However most death due to childbirth and pregnancy are preventable through different interventions by continuum of care in pregnancy.

The needs for continuum of care is very compelling in all the ramifications of the problems that lead to death in pregnancy and childbirth, failure to recognize that there is a problem is a challenge. For example, "A pregnant woman may be convulsing at home and people attributing it to witches, they do not know that it is due to ECLAMPSIA. She might be bleeding and people may insinuate that it is bad blood that is coming out. So recognising there is a problem is a big issue.

Paradoxically "when the pregnant woman is taken to the hospital, other challenges such as non availability of medical doctors, overworked nurses in attendance, non availability of safe blood medications and so on May also come up.

This is why there is a compelling need to look at all the issues holistically not just about giving non-pneumatic anti-shock garments, but applying a comprehensive approach called the continuum of care.

Postpartum hemorrhage does not only occurs from child birth, it can occurs as a result of other things such as ECTOPIC PREGNANCY, Abortion and GID. In a bleeding woman, blood supply to vital organs of the body such as kidney, lungs and brains is low, thus making her feel weak.

Why do women after childbirth bleed excessively?. Sometimes, the womb doesn't contract as it should be after birth, leading to postpartum hemorrhage, it can also be caused by injury to the vaginal. The mouth of the womb and the womb itself.

Basically, postpartum hemorrhage occurs in about two to four percent of deliveries regardless of where a woman gives birth. What is the most risk of experiencing a postpartum hemorrhage soon after giving birth? They include women with pregnancy -induced hypertension, woman who experience a prolonged second stage of labour, women who babies are delivered via vacuum extraction.

The treatment of postpartum hemorrhage includes massage of the womb to stimulate contractions and stop blood flows, use of injections that stimulates womb contractions, removal of excess placental with the hand to prevent further bleeding, blood transfusion (if there is massive blood loss) as well as surgical operation (hysterectomy) to repair any injury to the womb.

Romance / My Wife's Alleged Brother Happens To Be My Two Kids Fathers by mrBN: 3:04pm On Jul 29, 2017
I wasn't expecting to see my wife cheating on me with her supposed brother but it was really happening. This was the woman I loved much with every fiber in me.

My Name is Nnamdi, I am from the Eastern part of Nigeria but based in South Africa. I got married to Palesa (my wife) our marriage was match made in heaven, we were the center of attraction and envy to many couples but I couldn't believe it when I discovered that my wife was cheating on me with her supposed brother (Thabo).

I and Palesa got married ten years ago we are blessed with 3 kids. I, Palesa and Thabo lives in Johannesburg, my wife introduced him as her brother and we lived together, Frequently I travelled out for one business or the other, while I do send Thabo to Nigeria sometimes to run and oversee affairs of my company. My Wife on the other do spend some of her vacation with the kids in my country home.

That fateful morning I had a business meeting at Mozambique, I dressed for the meeting, bade my family goodbye and drove out, getting closer to the airport, I noticed I forgot one of the important files meant for the meeting, I drove back to my house to get the files. On getting to the gate, I drove in,As I climbed upstairs, the door leading to the living was open and the TV was also on and the volume loud.

I went into my bedroom and picked the file and decided to search around the house for my wife because the doors weren't locked when I got home, I searched every corner till I decided to look out for her at the pool side. Behold my lovely wife making out with her supposed brother, I stood there for 10 minutes and left and drove out for me business meeting. "how could Palesa betrayed me this way? So many questions in my mind yet I couldn't find the answers.

When I got back from my trip I took the kids to hospital for DNA test only to realize that I fathered only one out of the three kids, yes I loved them so much and it doesn't matter to me who was their father, I sent them to Nigeria to stay with my family when I found out that my wife planned to elope with her boyfriend to Europe.

I acted as if I knew nothing and played along, when she noticed that things had changed dramatically she went to my companies and properties which I used her name to acquired only to found out I has changed every of my wealth and properties to my name. "what does she took me for?

"I left only her personal car in her name.

She opened up to me and told me everything, including the paternity of our children, she betrayed me, how could I live and stay with my wife's lover for almost 10 years.

We got divorced few months ago and I don't regret anything rather I thank God for saving my life from her. I feel bad but life sometimes can be crazy.

Health / Vaginal Dryness: Home Remedies For Vagina Dryness by mrBN: 9:47am On Jul 24, 2017
If you are suffering with atrophic vaginitis, you know the issue is sensitive and requires specific treatment.

This condition is one that can have a major impact on your quality of life, which is one of the major reasons we’ve done our research to find effective natural cures for you. Some of the most effective treatments include coconut oil, olive oil, and vitamin E.

WHAT IS ATROPHIC VAGINITIS?

Atrophic vaginitis, also known as vaginal atrophy, is a condition that involves the thinning, drying, and swelling of the vaginal walls. The condition typically occurs after menopause; however, some women experience the condition during breast-feeding or at any other time your body’s estrogen production decreases.

Atrophic vaginitis can range in severity from moderate to severe. Depending on the severity, you’ll experience different symptoms. Nonetheless, vaginal dryness, burning, discharge, genital itching, burning during urination, frequent urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence, bleeding after intercourse, and discomfort during intercourse are common. Additionally, decreased vaginal lubrication during sexual activity as well as shortening and tightening of the vaginal canal are common.

WHAT CAUSES VAGINAL ATROPHY?

The underlying cause of vaginal atrophy is a decrease in estrogen production. As your body produces less estrogen, your vaginal tissues become thinner, drier, less elastic, and more fragile. A decrease in estrogen production often occurs after menopause, in the years leading up to menopause, during breast-feeding, after surgical removal of the ovaries, following pelvic radiation therapy or chemotherapy for cancer, or as a side effect of hormonal treatment for breast cancer.

CAN I TREAT ATROPHIC VAGINITIS NATURALLY?

While you should seek out a qualified medical professional to best diagnose and manage your condition, you can take steps to treat atrophic vaginitis naturally as well. Options such as coconut oil, olive oil, and vitamin E oil help lubricate and rehydrate the vaginal walls while herbs with phytoestrogens, such as fenugreek and fennel, help restore the natural levels of estrogen in the body.

1). COCONUT OIL

Coconut oil is a healthy fat that helps restore the body’s natural level of hydration. This treatment can be used as a lubricant or supplement to treat your condition.

2). VITAMIN E OIL

Vitamin E also helps restore the natural balance in the system. It helps lubricate the vaginal walls and reduce sensitivity as well as inflammation.

3). FENUGREEK

Fenugreek is especially effective but should not be used by pregnant women or those who have had hormone-related breast cancer. This treatment helps restore the levels of estrogen in the body and relieves the condition naturally.

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu today, declared that the capital of the proposed Biafra republic will be in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

This was made known through one of the traditional rulers who addressed the crowd as Kanu stormed Obigbo, in Rivers State.

One of the traditional rulers quoted Kanu as saying that "It's misleading what people are saying that Rivers State is not part of Biafra, and that Igbos wants to Include Rivers people to Biafra because of their Oil.

According to him, "Mazi Kanu has assured us that (Rivers State) our oil will belong to us, anybody saying that Rivers State is not part of Biafra is a Judas, and that person will be treated like Judas in the Bible.

Romance / 5 Ways To Build A Happy Relationship by mrBN: 10:09am On Jul 17, 2017
Most time partners neglect the little things that could boost their relationship and keep chasing the bigger things, for you to have a happy and blissful relationship whether in marriage or courtship you must be able to understand the importance of commitment in a relationship, blissful doesn't just happen it must be worked on.

Here are the five ways you can build a happy relationship that people will envy.

1). SCHEDULE TIME

Spending quality time together is crucial. This time can be with friends, dining out, attending a sporting event, or cuddling together while watching a favorite movie. The activity is not what is important but the fact that you are together, doing something that you both enjoy.

People have extremely busy schedules and between work, family, the home, errands, and everything else going on, finding time for your mate can be difficult.

Just as you would schedule a meeting on your calendar, show some courtesy in the relationship by scheduling time with each other. Once the plan is in place, no backing out unless you have some life and death emergency.

2). THE POWER OF TOUCH

When a child is ill, doctors will tell you that it is proven that a simple, loving touch of a parent can quickly pull the child through a crisis. It is the same for relationships.

Playing with your mate’s hair, rubbing their hand, a soft kiss on the neck, a soft pat on the leg or giving a gentle back rub will make a huge difference in how your mate responds to you.

When was the last time you walked up to your mate for no reason and without saying a word, affectionately placed a kiss on their neck?

This is not in a sexual way, but an affectionate way. There is a difference.

The next time the two of you are sitting in the car, at the grocery story, or standing in line at the theater, quietly reach over and take their hand.

Do not be surprised if you get a strange look of curiosity the first time!

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu Should Be Treated As A Man Seeking For Relevance - Okorocha by mrBN: 8:29am On Jul 06, 2017
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has lambasted the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as simply a young man that is using the marginalisation of Igbos in seeking for relevance.

"So the issue of Nnamdi Kanu should be treated as a young man agitating and seeking for relevance", Okorocha said, while fielding questions with the state house correspondent on Monday.

It will be recalled that this is not the first time the Imo State governor has lambasted the Indigenous people of Biafra leader, various times he have described Kanu as a man who is so confused in his agitation, and a young man who has never been born during the civil war

According to Okorocha, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu lack the capacity to lead the entire Igbo nation.

"The question is does Nnamdi Kanu have the capacity to lead Igbos to war? Or lead me and the governors to war? So you mean I will stand now and Nnamdi Kanu will tell me stand up let’s go to war? Governor Okorocha asked the journalists.

Asked why the Acting President left out Nnamdi Kanu who is a principal character in the agitation for Biafra, while consulting with the leaders of thoughts, Okorocha said; "On Nnamdi Kanu you must understand the position of a thing and what has created this hullabaloo if you like, and the big noise about this whole thing.

Nnamdi Kanu’s group broke away from MASSOB.

Last time I said, it depends on how we define this whole thing that is taken out of context. Nnamdi Kanu, a young man seeking relevance, agitating for whatever he believes in, what he stands for must be treated separately from the entire Igbo nation.

Like the gentleman that spoke for the Arewa youths, and these are not more than 17 young men speaking for millions of Arewa youths and it doesn’t make sense because if you ask any Arewa youth now if he is part of that event, he will tell you no.

We don’t have that wisdom of narrowing things to the perspective where they belong but we like to enlarge it to create the confusion that we all enjoy and the confusion if not well taken care of will consume Nigeria one day. And that is what some of us are trying to avoid.

So the issue of Nnamdi Kanu should be treated as a young man agitating and seeking for relevance, these are two different issues. And he can ride on the back of supposed Igbo marginalization which has been said is not right, and ride on those sentiments and push his agenda but that does not mean that the entire Igbo are with him.

I was in Chatham House and I remembered how I was attacked by the IPOB boys when I was delivering my lecture. They walked up to me and they were shouting and I said calm down. Ironically, the young man has never visited Nigeria before. So it is our duty to call our younger ones to order.

However, it is true that the South -East has been neglected overtime politically, economically, socially and all that. Their roads are impassable; you cannot pass Port Harcourt road, Enugu road, Aba Road, Bayelsa road and all the roads. You can hardly see federal government presence in the South- East, all the things you see are through self help. Even the Onitsha Bridge has been a theoretical talk, fabrications which does not represent realities. So, this is a mix up.

He (Kanu) speaks his own and joins it to our issues and it now looks like a nationwide thing. That is not the issue. We have called for unity and have agreed that we will remain united. Very soon, some of us have taken it upon ourselves to reach out to these young men and talk to them.

We must understand that our young men are frustrated; if they are as comfortable as we are they will not be able to say those things they are saying.

So whether we like it or not, this nation must make provision for the future generation who are now IT compliant, social media compliant, who have now access to all the goodies in the world without touching it.

They smell it but can’t feel it so they are asking why. You can understand their frustrations and so they no longer want to take the stories from us. Even in families right now, my children want to push me out of the system, when you are talking they say no, we know it better.

So we must just accept the realities of times and see what we can do for the youths of the federal republic of Nigeria. I think the ministry of Youth must be given attention now to engage them productively.

I don't believe in this write up entirely coming from Ekweremadu. If it's true then it will be the beginning of some extra ordinary happening to his political career. He wants to betray the yearning of his people for a higher political office, it will backfire. Biafra all the way.

If your're doubting the authenticity of this statement, it's also published on the Sun Newspaper, Ekweremadu delivered the speech last weekend in Enugu - I understand Abacityblog has a correspondent there!

Politics / The Implication Of Biafran Nation - Ekweremadu Speaks by mrBN: 1:01pm On Jul 03, 2017
Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has joined the league of other prominent Igbo leaders to douse the tension of agitation for Biafra in South-East.

Chief Ekweremadu bared his mind in a keynote he delivered over the weekend at a stakeholders meeting comprising the five South-East governors, members of the National Assembly, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, religious leaders and other selected Igbo leaders of thought held at Nike Lake Resort, Enugu, on Saturday, 1st July 2017.

The lawmaker whose presentation, titled: “Biafra: The legal, political, economic and social questions,” reportedly set the tone for discussion at the meeting, said the renewed agitation for Biafra began shortly after the 2015 elections, following the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government’s policy of 97 and five percent.

According to him; "While the Igbo have every reason to be aggrieved and the right to ventilate their grievances, with a view to seeking equity and justice, through “democratic and non-violent means, we should also not allow our emotions to rule over our reasoning.

"As our people say, it will not be good to hear that the she-goat delivered in tether when elders are at home. Questions would eventually be asked. History would inquire if no elder was at home when the toad put to bed and the baby toad grew up a puffed creature because no one cared to stretch it’s hands or legs.

“There are two major opinions as to the way forward for Ndigbo at a trying time like this. We have mostly the younger generation, who believe they have had enough of the Nigerian union, which they have described in unprintable terms. The other is restructuring, which seems to appeal more to the older generation.

“Ndigbo also need to understand both the local and international political tides and sentiments to be able to make the right choices because the considerations for self-determination go beyond just the South-East.

“Already, extreme utterances and actions by some key elements in the agitation for Biafra are taking tolls on our goodwill, friendship, and the sympathy we enjoy. Insults hurled at religious and political leaders of other regions are not helping us, politically.

“South-East’s political future should therefore be put in context of its economic interest and survival. The Igbo have larger chunk of their investments outside the South East. Our people have invested heavily in every nook and cranny of Nigeria. They are into trading. Imagine a situation where a Republic of Biafra would have to depend on Nigerian passports to travel out.

“Importantly, as I mentioned earlier, we are not certain that the South-South will go with the Biafra idea. And in the event that they do not, what are our options for economic survival? Flowing from this, what guarantee do we have for international support if the main oil bearing region pulls out, knowing that no nation is a Santa Claus?

“Realistically speaking, is it possible that all Ndigbo living in the other parts of Nigeria, many of whom were born and bred outside Igbo land, and have been well assimilated by their host communities will return home? Many have never visited home and do not even speak Igbo language. Can we realistically expect those who have their investments in other parts of Nigeria to willingly abandon them and head home?

“Although international systems seek to guarantee the security of lives of peoples and their properties on either side of the divides, should there be a self-determination process that leads to the emergence of a new nation, such guarantees are not absolute and difficult to enforce, especially in a society such as ours.

“The quit notice and hate spewed by the Arewa youths to Ndigbo point to the fact that all is not well. And it calls for caution because the mother hen does not run without looking back to know the fate of her chicks,” Ekweremadu, added.

He stressed the need to set up a committee for a continuous engagement and moderation of IPOB, other pro-Biafra organisations and their leaders to avoid hate speeches and reckless statements that will make us lose our friends and sympathisers.

Politics / Abians Throw Pure Water, Stones At T.A Orji At The Burial Of Dr. Elechi Nwaogbo by mrBN: 7:19am On Jul 01, 2017
It was a disgraceful day for former Governor of Abia State, Senator T. A Orji, as prominent sons and daughters of the state Friday gathered to pay their last respect to the former secretary to the state government under ex-Gov Orji Kalu's regime, Dr. Elechi Nwaogbo.

The event which was held at Ikwuano local government area of the state had in attendance Ex-Gov. Orji Kalu, Abia State Deputy Governor -Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu among others.

As guests were pouring encomiums on the deceased, the gathering took another dimension as the youth sighted ex-Gov. T.A Orji at the venue and his entry was received with shouts of "we don't want you", "thief" among other negative names.

The former governor and now senator had barely sat down when artisans and students started throwing pure water and stones in his direction before he was later rescued at out of the venue by his fierce looking policemen.

Earlier in his remarks, Kalu extolled the virtues of the late administrator describing him as a perfect gentleman whose life was anchored on fairness, justice and equity.

He noted that the success of his regime as Governor can be largely attributed to the tireless efforts of the likes of the late Dr. Elechi Nwaogbo.

Also speaking, Abia State deputy governor stressed that the deceased will be remembered for his contributions to the development of the state.

Politics / I Am Very Prepared; I Will Make A Good President - Orji Kalu by mrBN: 2:52pm On May 29, 2017
The former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Uzor has stated that he is always prepared to serve Nigeria as president, adding that he will make a good president if elected.

Orji Kalu stated this in an interview with Leadership Newspaper, while accessing the President Muhammadu Buhari's led APC government as it marked 2 years in office.

According Kalu's assessment, the APC administration, has also done fairly well in terms of where Nigerians want the country to be.

Leadership quoted Kalu as saying; The APC came into power on the premise of fighting corruption; premise of diversifying the economy. It came on the premise of trying to build a New Nigeria, which has always been what every administration will say. Yes! There has been some improvement in terms of addressing the security challenges in the North East and partially the Niger Delta.

But we are not yet there! And the most difficult thing or challenge has been the economy. Again, gradually, we are making some progress. Government needs to go into massive investments on roads and infrastructure; which is what the APC government is doing now.

So, I am hoping that gradually, slowly but steady, we will be easing out of recession. Recession does just go in one day. It’s funny when I hear people say we will ease out of recession in three months. It’s what takes couple of years and gradually, we will see the gains. Both the World Bank and the IMF are seeing that we are gradually going to ease off.

In his political ambition, the business mogul, recalled how he contested for the position of president in 2007 and came 3rd, which 5.8 million Nigerians voted for him.

Kalu said; I contested for president in 2007 and I came 3rd and I had 5.8 million votes. And this shows that I am a marketable candidate anytime and in any election.

"I am very prepared for the job. My political exposure has equipped me for any elective post in the country, including the highest office of the land. Let me tell you, I can manage the economy very well and even do better in the area of security. Mind you, I was a governor at a very young age. If there is a chance for me to be president of Nigeria, I will make a good president. If Goodluck Jonathan could become President, I will make a better president.

Politics / No! He Is Not Jesus; It's Our Traditional Way Of Greeting A Crowned Prince by mrBN: 9:02am On May 16, 2017
A response to an online debate on a viral photo that showed some members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, bowed down to greet their leader, Prince Nnamdi Kanu.

What is wrong with this photo? Nothing, absolutely nothing is wrong, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a crown Prince of Afaraukwu Ibeku Kingdom, which, as such, deserved to be respected while greeting.

Ndi-Igbo can't lose their dignity because of political interest, or a mere trend of technology. Bowing down to greet a crowned Prince is never a taboo in our culture, forget about sentiments, Mazi Kanu deserved the due respect.

As a crowned Prince, rules are whenever he is passing by, anyone he met on the road must bow down to receive a blessing from him, that's the Igbo tradition in the oldies, but today, western world is teaching us how to greet and how to respond to King's families.

Before you debate on why people should bow down before Mazi Kanu, ask any Igbo around you the tradition and culture of Ndi-Igbo on how they respond to King's families via greetings.

If Yoruba's and Hausa's can bow down to greet their monarchs, why would Ndi-Igbo be an exception? Last time I checked, a crowned Prince was an heir to the throne, if the King finally gave up to the ghost - although, this days Kings are appointed by the Governor's which is very wrong and abominable, because kings are born not made.

Apart from being a crowned Prince, Mazi Kanu is well respected in Igboland, as someone who determined to lead his people out of misery and slavery, his call for Biafra restoration is genuine and that's why he also been respected and well treated with honor and dignity.

It's never a taboo to bow down to greet a crown prince, and yes, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu deserves the respect.

No! He is not Jesus, it depends on the path you're coming it from.

It's our tradition!

If you're not convinced, try and watch Nollywood movies, especially the one that happens to do with Kings and Palace. That should teach you some Igbo traditions.

Note: In Igbo tradition and culture, women bow down to greet their husband, elders and kings.

Science/Technology / University Graduate, Okeke Bernard Invents Drone That Fly At A Distance Of 300m by mrBN: 3:22pm On May 15, 2017
The ingenuity in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria has no extinction as years goes by, more and more inventions are being showcased in the region, but the problem is sponsorship.

A graduate of Mechanical Engineer at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Mr. Okeke Bernard has invented a drone that fly at a distance of 300 meters high in the sky - With a vertical take off and landing action, also, at a 2.4GHz frequency remote control.

The inventor, Mr Bernard, a BSc holder at Unizik, told AbaCityBlog that the component of the Drone was locally sourced, adding that it gave him a lot of time to assemble the drone and get it to fly.

According to him; It's a drone, I locally sourced the component and it gives me time to assemble it, but I came out successfully, as the drone can fly at a distance of 300m, with a vertical take off and landing action, also, at a 2.4GHz frequency remote control.

Mr Okeke, a native of Anambra State, further stated that despite the hard times it gave him, he is grateful that he came out successfully on the project, while thanking his parents and his supervisors who made the invention a successful one.

Note: Mr Okeke Bernard can be reached via phone contact or email address, if anyone interested to explore his invention.

Politics / HISTORY: 50-yrs-ago; Brigadier Samuel Ogbemudia Was Igbo And Igbanke, Igbo Akiri by mrBN: 9:50am On May 12, 2017
By Mr. Emma Okocha

“From time immemorial, the people that are called Igbanke today were known and called Igbo-Akiri. It was in 1967 when Ogbemudia became the military governor of the Midwest State that he changed the name of the town from Igbo-Akiri to Igbanke…

It would have been unthinkable at that time to reveal that an Ibo man or an Ibo town produced the military governor of the Midwest State…. Ogbemudia, including the prominent Evangelist Rev. Isaac Idahosa are all Ibo and they hail originally from Igbo Akiri.”

(See Blood On The Niger, Gomslam Books 2012 pages 33, 216)

Captain Fred Anuku, the Commander of the Biafran Navy was the first Nigerian naval graduate from Dartmouth. While his fellow Ika-Ibo Brigadier Samuel Ogbemudia joined the Federal troops, Fred, who was married to a Caribbean, fled Lagos during the 1966 Igbo pogrom and was offered the command of the fledging young Navy by the Biafran high command.

At the same time, Major Nzeogwu’s involvement in the January 15, 1966 Revolution brought suspicion and calamity to his own people of Asaba, Okpanam and environs. As we prepare to organise a programme for the Anioma and Asaba 50th Year Genocide Anniversary, we shall today mention some of the top actors, commanders from the western Ibo nation of both forces whose roles led to the genocide in Asaba, Isheagu, Ogwashi, Igbodo, Ubulu Kingdom, Ibusa and Ndi Oshimili.

These prominent Commanders include Major Kaduna Nzeogwu, Col. Conrad Nwawo, Col. Joe Achuzia, and Captain Fred Anuku on the Biafran side. On the Nigerian side, we shall record the memorable activities of Brigadier Samuel Ogbemudia, General Godwin Alabi Isama, General Cyril Iweze and Commander O.Z. Chiazor, the first black man to be commissioned by the Queen in the Royal Canadian Navy.

Significantly, at this time, charismatic Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu had been released from the Calabar prison. He had disagreed with Ojukwu’s war aims and military strategy, and obviously discountenanced the declaration of Biafra. He advised that the East should resist for, at least, four months, cultivate foreign and local support and then prepare and get into the position with more arms and training to resist a total war.

He opposed any frontal engagements against the superior-armed federal troops at that initial stage of the war. At the 1967 Abakiliki military exercise, Nzeogwu demonstrated his extraordinary military acumen and proved beyond doubt that he was the Rommel of the Nigerian Army. A commander’s dream, endowed with a peculiar knowledge of the sub-savannah battlefield terrain, he exuded a rare combat capability and commanded the battle simulation with such confidence and precision that he drew tears of adulation from the awed subalterns.

He inspired most of the officers with his unmitigated improvisations. To most of the top brass of the Biafran Army, who were seeing the dawn of real combat action for the first time, this fighting leatherneck was a military institution all by himself, a study in combat readiness and tactics.

After his release from Calabar, Nzeogwu managed to reach his boys still in the Nigerian Army in the Midwest and in the West. The plan to enter the Midwest was originally his and that was his own way of setting a stage for the cessation of hostilities, an end to the war, and the restoration of the ideals of the January 15 Revolution.

To this end, he was disappointed by his friend, Major Olusegun Obasanjo whom he had not heard from and whom he learnt had gone back to Kaduna. On the other hand, he was confident in, and had some respect for Major Samuel Ogbemudia, his colleague at the Nigeria Military Training College (NMTC), Kaduna.

Furthermore, Wole Soyinka revealed that the Westerners had agreed on the opposition against the North but also disagreed with Ojukwu on the declaration of Biafra, and for that matter, the declaration of Benin Republic. Declaration of Biafra, the Revolutionaries reasoned would isolate the Easterners and put the West and the Midwest in a bad position whereby sympathies from the West and the Midwest would end up being restrained.

They would do better fighting as Nigerians. Whatever was the final consensus, Ogbemudia turned tail. He was next heard of leading the triumphant entry of the Federal Forces into Benin.

Few days after the war, the Biafra Research and Production Bureau made two secret and instant contacts with the high command of the Nigerian Army. Willy Achukwu, the Onitsha-born multi-talented improvising scientist, led one team to the Commander of the 82 Division, Enugu. Before the meeting, a team of Biafran Scientists were directed to put down sketches of the scientific equipment, designs, take measurements of the weapons, guns.

A special house with good illumination was erected to keep safely all the Biafran designs and prototypes. They also produced a new Ajuala flying Ogbunigwe to supplement the ones produced at Awo Idemili. Research at this time resumed on what I might term the first world “Smart Bomb” was redesigned as the much needed facilities and spare parts, lacking with the exigency of the war were becoming available after the war. (Pse., see Biafra, a Legacy Lost TELL Magazine Special Report No. 14 April 8, 2002. Page 37)

While Willy Achukwu led one group to the Commander 82 Division Enugu, Professor Ezekwe and Professor Nwosu went to Benin and handed over their Biafran scientific designs to Governor S.O. Ogbemudia. Ogbemudia raced to Lagos and desperately tried everything to convince General Gowon to seize the opportunity and convert that Biafran scientific ingenuity and like the Americans absorbed the German-Jewish war scientific breakthrough; and transform Nigeria to a modern powerful black nation. Gowon shillyshallied and meanwhile the Willy Achukwu group were lucky to escape the gallows.

General Bissala the Commander of the 82 Division before their tearful eyes, poured gasoline over the designs and materials, brought out a box of matches and set the huge collection of scientific fabric of Black civilisation on fire!

Ogbemudia’s shock and depression on learning of the outcome of the meeting with the GOC and the burning of the Biafran war prototypes and designs was enough to transform him from Saul to Paul.

For the third time, the Brigadier deflected and returned to his original base and more than any other post war governor was very prominent in the rehabilitation projects to return the war-weary Igbo to Jerusalem. He offered grants to poor students, donated buses to the University of Nigeria and rehabilitated the former Biafran Army officers, returning home to Bendel.

All the same, he cannot run away from the serious war crime charges of changing the name of a whole community, the heritage of his people Igbo Akiri to Igbanke. To this day, the people of this community yearn to return to their kith and kin in the Ika province of Delta State.

On his triumphant entry into Benin, in company with the Butcher of Asaba, General Muritala Mohammed, can he absolve himself and other officers and men of the Federal Second Division, of complicity in the wanton killing of Igbo in Benin that started in September 21, 1967 to the end of that war?
