PoliticsBayelsa Governorship Guber: Sylva Moves To Tribunal by mrBN(op): 7:31am On Jan 12, 2016
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in the Bayelsa State governorship election, Chief Timipre Sylva have rejected the results declared by the Collation/ Returning Officer, Prof Zana Akpagu.

Sylva, who spoke at a press conference yesterday in Yenagoa, decried what the alleged collusion between the PDP and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to skew the results against the party (APC).

According to him;

“The election from the beginning was skewed against APC. All places APC won were cancelled. We did not have a free and fair protest. The cancelled votes were over 53,000 which was higher than the difference between the results declared for both the PDP and the APC, yet, the Returning Officer declared the result which have been announced, but as a party, the result is clearly unacceptable. Let me put it on record that our members should keep calm. On no account must any APC member take laws into his/her own hands” he said.

Sylva said there was a desperate move by INEC to declare Dickson winner in the election which he said made them not to pay attention to constitutional requirements.

“The accord between PDP and the INEC in Bayelsa which was set up as PDP rigging machinery made INEC to want to declare Dickson as governor. How can you explain that materials meant for far places were not sent on time, while materials in polling units in near places were the ones sent earlier. The agenda of the PDP was to frustrate election in Southern Ijaw because they were having the lead. They just wanted election to hold in few places to maintain their lead while in APC’s stronghold, they cancelled the elections there”

“As far as I am concerned, this senseless violence must stop,” he said.

PoliticsFuel Pump Price: Aba Oil Marketers Still Selling At N140 Per Litre by mrBN(op): 12:13pm On Jan 09, 2016
Despite that Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) has warned that every filling station in the country should be selling at the price of N85 per litre, but filling stations in Aba, Abia State are still selling at the price of N135-140 per litre.

The order was given by President Muhammadu Buhari last week ago, according to him, since Nigeria refineries have started producing at least 10 million per day that Nigeria has a more fuel to be selling at N85 per litre.

Despite all the warning, oil marketers in Aba, are still selling at the price of N135-140 per litre which the federal government prohibited.

May God Help us!

Politics#dasukigate: Fani-kayode Denies Receiving N1.7bn From Dasuki by mrBN(op): 11:53am On Jan 06, 2016
A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has refuted social media reports linking him with the controversial arms deal.

The news dominate online, yesterday, Tuesday, 5th Jan. 2016, by Sahara Reporters, claiming that the former PDP presidential campaign spokesperson reportedly received N1.7billion of the controversial arms deal fund from the office of the ex-National Security Adviser, NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (Rtd).

Reacting to the allegation, Fani-Kayode in a statement said he read with amusement the allegation made in the media report, saying that he never received any money from Dasuki.

He said: “I read with amusement the allegation that was made in the media report that I was given 1.7 billion naira cash by President Goodluck Jonathan. This is false. A few hours later they changed their story and said that I received 1.7 billion naira from the office of the former NSA, Colonel Sambo Dasuki. This is also false.

“I have never received one kobo from President Jonathan himself, Colonel Dasuki or any other member of President Jonathan’s government. I have not ever been in receipt of any public funds and neither was I the beneficiary of any payments in cash, transfer, cheque or otherwise from any government official during the tenure of President Jonathan.

“As Director of Media and Publicity of the Jonathan/Sambo Campaign organisation I received money on behalf of the Directorate of Media and Publicity which I headed from private individuals and companies during the election campaigns but these were not public funds but rather private contributions specifically for the Presidential and other campaigns.

“Such moneys were transferred into my account by the Director of Finance of the Presidential Campaign Organisation and that account was specifically set up for the purpose of running the publicity and media aspect of the campaign for the whole country and my Directorate.

“These private individuals and companies paid their contributions into a designated account which was provided and controlled by the Director of Finance and from there she transferred it to the accounts of the various Directors and various individuals that were running for public office that the PCO supported.

“The money that was sent to me for my Directorate by the Director of Finance was used in a lawful and responsible manner and by the time the campaigns were over my Directorate had paid all of its bills for services rendered and was not owing any media house or anyone else one kobo.

“The Presidential candidate of our party President Goodluck Jonathan, the D-G of the PCO, the Auditor of the PCO, the Advisor to the PCO and the Director of Finance of the PCO all received reports and saw the results of the efforts of my Directorate. Not only were they satisfied with our efforts but they also commended us.

“Those private individuals and companies that were kind enough to support and fund President Jonathans presidential campaign with their hard earned money were perfectly within their rights to do so and they were more than happy with our efforts as well.

“They also commended us. Even though we ended up losing the election we fought a very virile, strong, visible, historic and aggressive campaign and the Nigerian people can attest to this. The encounter with the APC was an epic one and it was probably the most active and gruelling electoral battle in the history of our country.

“Not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to my Directorate during the campaign and as far as I am aware not one kobo of public funds was spent by or given to the PCO. Presidential campaigns all over the world cost huge amounts of money and Nigeria is no different.

“This is especially so when it comes to publicity and media. My Directorate was difficult to run and our work was capital intensive. We did not use marshmallows, pebbles, and grass to pay for all the services rendered to us and all the television and newspaper adverts were fully paid for with money.

“Nothing was done or given to us free of charge by anyone. This should not be a surprise to anyone as the APC and President Buhari’s campaign organisation did the same.

“I opened an account specifically for the funds that were used to run my Directorate and fund all our activities in order to ensure accountability and transparency.

“We also audited our accounts regularly and insisted on the highest level of professionalism from all those that worked for or with us.

“Since when such matters have become a crime or subjects of criminal investigations I don’t know. If it was a crime to speak up for Jonathan during the campaign they should just say so.

“If it is a crime to be a member of the PDP and to be in opposition they should just say so. If it is a crime to speak up for and defend President Jonathan and key members of his government after he has left office they should just say so.

“If it is a crime to oppose the Buhari administration and speak up against his gross violations of human rights that they are indulging in and the violation of court orders they should just say so.

“During the 2015 elections the PCO and my Directorate spoke up and campaigned for many PDP members who were running for public office and we funded and worked for them too. That was our job and I am very proud of the PCO and the role we all played despite limited resources.

“I am particularly proud of the efforts of my team at the Directorate and I can assure all those that care to listen and that refuse to be misled by the government propaganda machine that we did nothing wrong. All we did was run an effective campaign and we did so with private funds and not funds from the government.

“I am aware of the attempt by the government and my enemies to discredit me, smear my name and silence me by alleging all manner of wrongdoing but I am not in the least bit perturbed. As always my innocence will fight for me and my God will never forsake me.

“I know that this government is capable of doing anything, of inducing anyone to say anything and that they have no sense of decency, justice or fair play. They are prepared to charge anyone just for breathing the air if needs be and they can attempt to frame up anyone that they believe is a thorn in their flesh.

“I have always known this yet I refuse to run away or to be silenced and I will not be cowered. Though I have been warned and told over and over again by those amongst them who care for my well being that I have been listed down and targeted for persecution I am not in the least bit concerned about their evil plans for me. My life and destiny is in the hands of God and not theirs and He will fight for me and vindicate me.

“As I have always said, the night may be dark but joy comes in the morning. If it was a crime to use moneys that were freely donated by private individuals from lawful and legitimate sources to fund the Presidential and other campaigns let them say so.

“No election campaign anywhere in the world, including that of President Buhari was run with just words, goodwill, grass and pebbles and neither were we given free campaign adverts or air time. All these things were run and paid for with large sums of money.

“This is especially so with publicity and media because that was the lifeblood of the various campaigns. I repeat, there is nothing that we did in the campaign organisation or that my Directorate did that Lai Mohammed, Buhari and the APC did not do in theirs. As a matter of fact they spent far more than we did but I have no idea where they got their money and whether they were private or public funds.

“Most importantly my Directorate and, as far as I am aware, the Jonathan Sambo Presidential Campaign Organisation did not receive any public funds from any government official or office to run our campaign. Of this I am absolutely sure and I am very confident because I made a point of asking and insisting that this must be so. These are the facts and I eagerly await my accusers, persecutors and detractors.

“Meanwhile I shall continue to live my life in peace, I shall not be intimidated by the boastful threats of the enemy and I will continue to live my life in the usual law-abiding manner that I have always done.

“It is expedient and necessary for me to speak out now even though the EFCC has not said a word on this matter or even confirmed that there is indeed an investigation going on. This is because the modus operandii of the Commission of late is to leak their intentions to SaharaReporters before they strike and abduct their victims...........

PoliticsWe Are Ready To Fight Boko Haram – Says Nigerian Hunters by mrBN(op): 9:28am On Jan 04, 2016
Hunters Association in Borno State, north-eastern Nigeria, on Sunday called on the military to allow them to join in the war against Boko Haram insurgents in Sambisa Forest.

Malam Mai-Gana Mai-Durma, the Borno Emir of the Hunters, made the appeal in Maiduguri while addressing journalists, saying the call becomes imperative because the hunters are familiar with the terrain of the dreaded forest, the hideout and operational base of the militants.

“We are ready to pursue the terrorists because we know the terrain very well,” Mai-Durma said, urging the military to align them with members of the vigilante group, known as the Civilian JTF to coordinate their activities.

“We will overrun Sambisa in partnership with members of the civilian JTF if given the opportunity and this will help to complement the effort of the military in the anti terrorism operation,” Mai-Durma said.

He lamented that hunters from the 27 local government areas of the state had been rendered idle by the Boko Haram insurgency which has killed over 20, 000 people and displaced over 1.5 million people since 2009.

PoliticsJUST IN; Lawyer Petitions Obama Asking Buhari To Respect Court Orders by mrBN(op): 3:12pm On Jan 02, 2016
A constitutional lawyer and founder of Change.org, Ms Carol Ajie has petitioned President Barrack Obama of the United States, the National Judicial Council (NJC) amongst others, over President Muhammadu Buhari’s “disobedience of court orders.”

Ajie in the petition, which has garnered almost 200 signatories since its launch on New Year's eve, said that Buhari by his statements during the Presidential Media Chat at the State House in Abuja, “is behind the flagrant disobedience of court orders.”

The President had during the media chat admitted that the former National Security Adviser (NSA), Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu were being held against court orders because they could run away.

However, Ajie said that this runs contrary to the law and the principle of separation of powers as enshrined in the constitution. The human rights lawyer expressed concern that the President if unchecked might drag the country towards dictatorship.

“Buhari took the oath of allegiance to protect the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President’s oath of office to discharge his duties faithfully, in accordance with the Constitution and the laws of Nigeria.............

Christianity Etc2016 Prophecy: Rev. Mbaka Says There Are Plans To Kill Buhari by mrBN(op): 6:57am On Jan 02, 2016

PoliticsI Didn’t Apologise To Buhari, I'm Ready To Sacrifice Anything –nnamdi Kanu by mrBN(op): 5:31am On Jan 02, 2016
The detained leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has finally clarify the rumuor making round the net, saying that he (Kanu) has apologies to President Buhari, former President Jonathan and Igbo leaders.

Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, Mr. Vincent Obetta, release a statement earlier, lamenting that his client, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not tender such apology, statement reads:

“I denied the ruse making the rounds that my client apologized vide a letter to the President Mohammed Buhari, former President Goodluck Jonathan and some Igbo elders. “Obetta said that Kanu did not address any letter of apology whatsoever to President Buhari, Jonathan or the Igbo elders.

“However, I am aware that in the course of making his statements to the SSS, he acknowledged the fact that certain words he used on these persons/elders during his broadcast were ‘uncomplimentary’, considering the culture and values of the African society to which he belongs.

“He further stated that he may write a letter of apology to the President to express his regret over the use of such words on him. But up till this moment, such letter, to my knowledge, has not been written. And I challenge any body that has a copy of such letter to make it public,” he said.

The IPOB counsel noted that there was nothing unusual in acknowledging certain areas where a person got things wrong and expressed regrets.

“To me, I see it as a mark of good leadership and a show of high level of sportsmanship for him to have been able, at this point, to distinguish between the person of Mr. President and the bad leadership in the Nigeria federation, particularly when the problems that gave rise to the present agitation existed several decades preceding the current regime.

“I am still confused as to what and why the statement is causing furor in the media. If the innuendo is to say that by that he is or is intending to abandon his cause, then the propagators of this hype have lost the round.

“At the last time I had meeting with him, he openly told me that he is committed to his cause and was ready to sacrifice anything in the process than abandoning the cause.

“According to him, he is apologetic to the elders to whom he had used uncomplimentary words, but unapologetic to the pursuit of the agitation for the self-determination of his people,” Obetta said.

PoliticsREVEALED: IBB Threatens To Expose Buhari If He Continues Halliburton Bribe Scand by mrBN(op): 5:09am On Dec 28, 2015
Following the probe led by President Buhari to re-open the investigation of $182million Halliburton bribe scandal, it was gathered that the probe would have led to the past leaders, people like, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), former Nigeria’s Head of State and General Olusegun Obasanjo, also a former Nigeria’s president.

According to CNN iReport, Buhari’s August visit to USA was to re-open the case but when Obasanjo finds out he called IBB, he brought the attention of IBB to the fact that they way Buhari was going about corruption-fight, he would eventually probe the majority of past administration, including IBB era.

It was also gathered that, when the hints was too tough, both the former leaders also called the attention of another Nigerian Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar; The reports revealed that Abdusalami paid a visit to IBB in his Minna Castle in Niger State, it was there they concluded that IBB should stylishly pass-on their statement to Buhari to stop his earlier, intentioned probe of his predecessors.
ALSO READ: Ben Bruce to Buhari - "Each Presidential trip costs can pay salaries of over 1000 workers"

In a press statement issued by IBB through his media adviser, Prince Kassim Afegbua, shows that IBB threatens Buhari to expose his misdeeds if he eventually go on with the probe, the statement reportedly reads:

“On General Buhari, it is not in IBB’s tradition to take up issues with his colleague former president. But, for the purpose of the record, we are conversant with General Buhari’s so-called holier-than-thou-attitude. He is a one-time minister of petroleum and we have good records of his tenure.

Secondly, he also presided over Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) which records we also have. We challenge him to come out in clean hands in those two portfolios he headed. Or, we will help him to expose his records of performance during those periods. Those who live in glass houses do not throw stones. General Buhari should be properly guided.”

CNN iReport gathered when intelligence report reached Buhari on the position of these retired Army Generals and former Heads of State, and bearing in mind how mean they can fully engage him in ‘dirty-fight’ which may ridicule him in the eyes of Nigerians and expose his stewardship then as Minister of Petroleum in 1976 that led to the mysterious disappearance of a whooping US $2.8 Billion from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC account in Midlands Bank, United Kingdom allegedly under his watchful-eyes, Buhari quickly made a detour and issued a press statement through Femi Adesina, his Special Adviser, Media & Publicity claiming the investigation of Buhari administration would only be limited to his predecessor, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GEJ, the man who honorably handed peacefully to Buhari on May 28, 2015 at Eagle Square so Nigeria may remain united as an indivisible nation.

PoliticsStone Us If Buhari Fails To Deliver Our Promised Change – APC Leader by mrBN(op): 2:13pm On Dec 26, 2015
One of the leaders of the governing APC, Prince Tony Momoh, who is a former Minister of Information, in this media interview, speaks on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, recovered looted funds and sundry issues. Relax and enjoy the chat:

How would you assess President Buhari’s administration, particularly on the economy?

You have heard the President said he is the one that Nigerians voted for and he is responsible to them not to me or you. He is not owned by anybody. He was there between 1983 and 1985, he has experienced it, he is the only one who came since independence to be President of Nigeria and succeeded. No other one, Tafawa Balewa wanted to be a broadcaster, he became Prime Minister, Alhaji Shehu Shagari wanted to become a Senator, he became President; Olusegun Obasanjo was in prison praying to be released, at the end of the day he became president, Late Yar ‘Adua wanted to retire to lecture in Ahmadu Bello University, he became President; Jonathan was taken from Bayelsa to Abuja and made Vice President and them later became Acting President and President. Buhari went into politics and wanted to be President in 2003, he failed, 2007 he failed and 2015 he succeeded. Do you think that this type of person will be rushed into doing things he don’t believe will make Nigerians grow? I can assure you No. There are three steps in Buhari’s scheme,

S+S=P that is the equation. S is for security, he will secure Nigeria, the other S is for stability, he will stabilise Nigeria through infrastructural development and the outcome of security and stability is Prosperity and Nigeria will prosper. At the end of the day, if Buhari doesn’t perform, stone us because he is going to perform.

When people begin to appoint ministers for him, programme economic measures for him, begin to tell him what will happen in education and other ministries, you give the impression that he came to be President without preparing. I can assure you he is prepared to hold office by coming out with a book called project Nigeria and that book he has always had since 2002 when he entered politics and he is going to implement this program.

He has a contract with every Nigerian, all the ethnic groups and I have said it, the South-East will be more in his party than any other group. Why? Because he is going to develop their area more than PDP ever did. Buhari knows where he wants Nigeria to be. We are talking of four years and it has not gotten to one year yet and people are saying he is very slow. One thing people don’t know is that those who are corrupt, those who did money laundering, those who diverted all sort of things, they know where the heat is. This BVN I don’t know how it works but it is revealing a lot of things, if you have one bank account, the thing will reveal all the commitments you have. I don’t know how it works but the government seems to be finding out where people have hidden money more than any other time in our history. I am not in that group, I am not carry out any investigation but a lot of things are coming out and a lot of things have been done.

PoliticsIkpeazu: Abia Governor Or Ngwa Emperor By Promise Uzoma Okoro by mrBN(op): 12:16pm On Dec 26, 2015
I have refrained myself from commenting, discussing, criticising or applauding the activities of the Abia State government led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for the past four months, but recent political developments in our God's own State calls for urgent attention.

Since the creation of Abia State in August 1991 this is the first time the Ukwa/Ngwa bloc is having its taste of the exalted Seat in Abia State government House, but........

Okezie Ikpeazu who was a former Caretaker Commitee Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area in 2002 never imagined that a day will come when a young man like him from the Ngwa axis will rule over 4million Abians.

The processes that led to his emergence as the Flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party during the December 8 2014 of the party in Abia State has not been forgotten by critical scholars.

His Electoral victory was made possible through a display and introduction of the Worst diabolic, tribal wicked and catastrophic process of intimidation by hoodlums who paraded themselves as landlords in Aba.

Barely one week he was sworn in as the governor of Abia State, Ikpeazu mischievously asked Abians never to add Executive or His Excellency in any official or unofficial communication with him.

Humility is not bought at the alter of pretence, was what the governor and his Public relation handlers failed to understand.

Is Ikpeazu the governor of Abia State or the Emperor of Ukwa-Ngwa?

During the build up to the Primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party, many influencial Chieftains of the party from Ukwa-Ngwa axis including a former Minister of works Chief Emeka Wogu, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe were all individuals that public opinions thought would have been allowed by the former Abia State Governor to fly the party’s titcket, but for whatever reasons Ikpeazu came in the race.

A lot of promises was made to the people of Abia State by governor Okezie Ikpeazu which includes:Payment of Abia workers every 22nd of the Month and to run an Equity government which was the hallmark of his Okezuo Abia campaign mantra.

Ofcourse he has accomplished his promises of increasing the poverty in Abia State, sidelining the people of Abia North because he believed that the people overwhelmingly voted for the APGA candidate,he has succesfully rendered all institutions in Abia State importent.

A Look At his appointments shows the real intention of this Umuobiakwa born politician, there is no single appointment made by governor Okezie Ikpeazu that reflected the contents in the Abia Charter of Equity.

All those Recommended for appointments were turned down, while the first few who were lucky to be Appointed due to the influence of the former Abia State Governor are being starved of funds and made beggers in the running of the Ukwa-Ngwa administration.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has turned his government to that of the Ubani's as almost all his appointees have Ubani attached to their names.

The only project governor Okezie Ikpeazu can boast of since May 29 he came into office is Patching of road using Cement in the streets of Aba at the expense of the poor civil servants and pensioners in the State.

Did we elect an Emperor to rule over the Ukwa-Ngwa empire?

Or We elected a governor of Abia State.

Only time will Tell.

PoliticsIkpeazu Commiserates With Obiano, Chikason Over Nnewi Gas Explosion by mrBN(op): 12:06pm On Dec 26, 2015
Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has commiserated with his Anambra State counterpart, Chief Willie Obiano, and the Owner of Chikason Group of companies, Chief Chika Okafor, whose company, Inter Corp Oil Limited (an LPG Gas Plant), was gutted by fire yesterday resulting in the death of about many people in Nnewi, an industrial city in Anambra State.

Governor Ikpeazu also extended his heartfelt condolence to the families and relatives of the victims of the inferno and to the good people of Anambra State.

He described the incident as very painful and unfortunate and regretted that such mishap could happen at a time when the entire world was celebrating, noting that the incident has affected the celebration for the Anambra people and Nigeria in general.

While lamenting the inferno and the attendant huge human and material loss, Governor Ikpeazu also noted that the incident was a great loss not only to Chief Chika Okafor, the owner of Chikason Group of Companies, an indigenous conglomerate with thirteen companies, but also to the South Eastern people and to Nigerians in general, as Chikason Group have come to be a reference point and one of the outstanding indigenous entrepreneurship in Nigeria today.

Ikpeazu prayed to God to give Anambra people and particularly the families of the victim the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
