Car Talk › Re: Help, Honda Accord Skips Second Gear With Loud Thud by Mrcharming(op): 3:36pm On Aug 05, 2018
@Lilkech, what is paper clip method? The car is i4 and the ATF is Honda Z1 which was recommended in the car manual. Kindly recommend a competent techie with advance diagonistic equipment in Abuja, if you know any. Thanks all.
Car Talk › Re: Help, Honda Accord Skips Second Gear With Loud Thud by Mrcharming(op): 3:32pm On Aug 05, 2018
I change the ATF annually and I just changed it last month. Usually when the gear skips, the tires often screech especially if driven hard. A mechanic checked it and said it is valve body. He changed the valve body, but the situation did not improve in any way.
Car Talk › Help, Honda Accord Skips Second Gear With Loud Thud by Mrcharming(op): 10:41pm On Aug 04, 2018
Dear all, my Honda Accord 2010 model skips the second gear and makes a loud thud. This usually happens when the engine is hot. I have scanned it but it did not return any error codes. Pls, what could be the problem? Thanks.
Car Talk › Re: Driving A Toyota Highlander 2002 Without A Catalyst by Mrcharming(m): 7:46am On Apr 07, 2018
Missing Cat can’t damage your engine....the assertion is incorrect, pls.

bravolad:
I wondering what kind of mechanic you have that will cut off you catalyst converter without your express approval & knowledge. Apparently, he has a high level control over you.

What was wrong with the catalyst? Are you sure it was faulty & how did he or you determine that? I hope he hasn't played a smart one on you?

Rather than stuff anything in their, drive the car like that but remember it won't be environmental friendly & you will have a slightly higher mpg & the sound of your car will also change & gradually damage your engine.

Personally, I will suggest parking the car until you can afford to replace it.
Car Talk › Re: Driving A Car Without Catalytic Converter by Mrcharming(m): 8:26pm On Dec 25, 2017
Chief, how much did you buy your cat and where? I removed the clogged cat in my Honda Accord and would like to get a replacement. Thanks.

obekediamondfuto:
as long as u use spacers right, exactly my point!

but that is not the debate, the debate is cat delete has no impact on mpg since the post cat sensor monitors cat efficiency, but its not entirely true and I'm speaking from first hand experience that downstream sensor is used (in modern vehicles) as a checksum for the upstream sensor so if u delete cat then u have to trick the ecu by using spacers. I think u get my point.

in international forums u see experts arguing this single issue like its one hell of a deal albeit, with solid proof of live pids and data of stft and ltft. some even have a simulator for the downstream sensor and modify its values accordingly to see the effect on the trim values and surprisingly if affects FT. in some rare cases like mine its affects it up to 25%+.

well I wouldn't argue with the bosses tho, cos they have had years of experience with several brands..…. some even mistakenly pour origin in the cat to completely finish it...... but my point is, it happened to me! I installed cat for an exorbitant price and I'm not even sure if its not my cat.... but vehicle stabilized immediately... if I knew what I knew now I'd have checked for live data

The Toyota Aygo is a small three cylinder car which debuted in 2005. The car is known to be very fuel efficient on account of its small 1.0lt engine. It is described as a fun, city car earning 8/10 in tests by the Top gear crew, (topgear.com) Has anyone used the car before? Pls share your experience. Tx.

BBC didn't interview him, his handlers simply sent the message to BBC for broadcast. No one has access to Buhari where he is now, believe me. His handlers don't want anyone to see him for now until he has sufficiently recuperated.

Health › Re: Help! I Will Be Having Hemorrhoids (pile) Surgery In Few Days by Mrcharming(m): 8:11am On Apr 04, 2017
Don't worry, Tope, it will come out quite fine. There is nothing to be anxious about. Have faith in God and believe it will be fine and trust me, it would be fine. Such surgeries are carried out daily in major hospitals and the prognosis is quite good. So, chase away fear and have faith. Go to the surgery room with confidence and I tell you, you would come out fine. The surgery takes about 45 minutes max all things being equal. You won't feel any pain cos of the anesthesia. Subsequently, you would be asked to do sitz bath to quicken the healing process and within three weeks, you would be ok. So, no need to panic. But henceforth, run away from sugar, soda drinks, and take lots of water and fruits and vegetables. Avoid straining when using the toilet. Wish you a successful surgery, cheers.

Considering your original question but laying my response on the purposes and intended use.

Have you considered the Ford F150 FX 4X4, this is the number one selling pick up trucks in the USA for donkey years.

Firstly our mad bias for all things Toyota tells me it will be considerably cheaper than a Tundra. You are linked in I presume, so buying brand new OEM parts for your Ford will be easy.

One of my friends is in construction and took his advice from a haulage company in Northern Nigeria where they found the Tundra not as reliable and fuel efficient as the F150.

He has had the F150 for near two years not one problem another associat in Uyo has had a 2009 F150 for over 5 years beyond routine maintenance nothing to report.

The difference in fuel consumption between the V8 and the V6 is not as pronounced as you may think. Driving style, load levels and road conditions will determine your fuel consumption. Indeed the bigger V8 may give you better consumption under heavier loads.

Do the research make your choice and if I derailed somewhat apologies.
Advice noted, thanks. Will cast my net wider.

Delicious soup takes thought and money, my dear. I don't wanna rush into something I would regret, that's why am seeking the opinion of experts in the house. An African proverb says, he who asks for directions would not get lost. I may settle for the v8 cos it seems the difference btw it and v6 ain't much. But I would be relying on @Egunmogaji for fuel though, seems he has a filling station.

EgunMogaji:
That one is now personal preference.
Gas is cheap enough in Nigeria.
Gas cheap? Maybe if you own a filling station or have an oil bloc. Lols.

Go for it.

None better in that class.

I have an 02 naija used 4Runner that I love to bits.

Looking forward to getting a few more. Toyota trucks are rock solid.
Which did you advise I go for? The V6 or V8? I saw a 2005 V8 at N1.5m and a 2007 V6 at N2.5m. What do you advice, house?

tahoe:
that one way dey drink fuel like baby food I respect you. I respect everyone driving a v8 in this economy
Fuel consumption is a major consideration and that is why I prefer a Tundra v6. I saw a Tundra v8 at a very good price, but the fuel issue is the reason am shying away from it. I don't want a truck that would be guzzling fuel like a labourer drinking pure water. I don't want a fuel guzzler, the economy is not smiling.

You have not said anything out of extra ordinary I have driven this cars in off road and I can tell you a Tacoma has got nothing to out class a Navigator off road where the Tacoma will go, I have gladly taken the Navigator and it performed well. Ask about the old abeokuta Igbo Ora road.

There is no need not to compare, I was not comparing speed, luxury or build quality. I was simply comparing off road ability. grin
Pls, I need you guys to share your real world experiences with the Toyota Tundra V6 and not to turn this thread to an academic filibustering platform. Though your contributions have enlivened the thread, but I need you to stick to the issues I raised in my original post. Thanks all.

Please do not try the Ford DangerRanger/Mazda B series. It should not even be in discussion when talking about Tundra.

If you will be moving heavy loads then Tundra is obviously the right choice. If you are not moving as heavy load then I will personally go for either the Toyota Hilux (4 cylinder) or the Tacoma (4 or 6 cylinder) for daily driving and farm work.

2007 Tundras also come in V6 and the 4.0L engine/motor it comes with is the same as the Tacoma V6. The 4 cylinder Tacoma motor/engine is 2.7L and you will obvious get way better gas mileage with them.
Am actually thinking of getting a Tundra v6.
Car Talk › Toyota Tundra Experience by Mrcharming(op): 1:04pm On Mar 10, 2017
Hi house, am thinking of buying a 2007 Toyota Tundra. I want to use it as daily driver and for my farm runs because the road to the farm is pretty bad and my 2010 Honda Accord cannot cope with the terrible road. Is there anyone who has driven the truck before? I would like to hear your experience with the vehicle? Is it worth buying? What is the maintenance cost like? Thanks all.
Romance › Nigerians, Most Romantic People In Africa by Mrcharming(op): 6:54pm On Feb 11, 2016
Nigerians are the most romantic people in Africa, beating out other online customers in global money transfer leader Transfast’s Valentine’s Day survey.

An impressive 80 percent of Nigerian respondents say they plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day, with 75 percent calling the holiday “Sweet – I like the sentiment behind it.” Of those less enamoured, thirteen percent say it’s “silly, but I put up with it ” and nine percent call it “a ridiculous money-making scheme.” Still, only three percent of Nigerians say Valentine’s Day is “stressful: I wish it would go away!”

Most respondents, who are Transfast customers based in the U.S. or Canada, say their loved one is in the U.S. (54 percent), while 36 percent say their loved one is in Nigeria. A majority (53 percent) says they will send money home for Valentine’s Day, in amounts ranging from $50 to $2,000.c

Nairaland General › 33 Things To Stop Doing In Your 30s by Mrcharming(op): 2:20pm On Jun 06, 2015
When you're in your 20s, you pretty much have a "get out of jail free" card. It's somewhat implied that those years are there for making mistakes, learning from them, and bridging the gap between pre-adulthood and adulthood. So, when you "forget" to wash your sheets for five months or spend your whole paycheck on a pair of shoes, no one can really give you a hard time. But at some point, we all must brush the dust off our 401k packets and embrace that we are, after all, real adults. Here are some things to quit doing when 30 rolls around:

Facebook stalking, particularly your ex.
Seeking approval from other people.
Beer pong. It's time to toss the red solo cups.
Sleeping away your entire weekend instead of doing something fun or productive.
Weeknight binge drinking (or binge drinking in general). Those hangovers get worse with each passing year.
Building up debt on your credit card. Now is the time to pay it back, not make it worse!
Hitting up mom or dad for money.
Keeping bad friends around out of convenience or because you're too lazy to cut them out. Send them packing!
Buying anything and everything you want when you're shopping.
Sneaking a smoke.
Buying new underwear instead of doing laundry.
Advertising drunk nights on social media.
Skipping beauty routines. Start moisturizing ASAP!
Pulling all-nighters.
Making excuses not to do your workout.
Eating fast food.
Hanging unframed pictures or posters on your walls. We think "Starry Night" is great too, but it's time to take it down.
Ignoring 401k packets when you get them.
Spending most of your money on alcohol or eating out.
Waiting for someone to do something for you so that you don't have to.
Only cleaning the toilet or tub when it literally can't wait another minute.
Giving up when things get hard.
Waiting to take out the trash and recycling until guests are coming over.
Holding on to old grudges.
Washing your bath towel and sheets once every few months or just when you have company coming.
Neglecting family time.
Not taking responsibility for things.
Flossing only once a year before your trip to the dentist, and then right after, when the dentist guilt-trips you into it.
Unhealthy dieting or buying in to quick-fix weight-loss plans.
Texting while driving.
Not saving money.
Participating in drama.
Not staying up-to-date on current events.

@ CityNG . He that does not read is not different from he who cannot read (an illiterate). If the op had read the car manual, he would have been acquainted with the workings of the vehicle and he wouldn't have exposed his ignorance about the car. This is the 21st century, where everything is dependent on knowledge, I don't see why we should continue to promote mental indolence. You should read all manuals, whether it is the one that came with your phone, laptop, blender, car or any other appliances. It was produced for a reason, it is not just a mere paper attachment.
