Politics › Tinubu: What May Very Well Lie Ahead For Nigerians by Mrchippychappy(op): 8:17am On Mar 19, 2025
Looking at recent events in Nigeria, many people seem to overlook the recurring patterns. I've seen comparisons between Obasanjo’s actions and Tinubu’s, but let’s set the record straight.

Obasanjo was deeply rooted in military politics so much so that even Abacha saw him as a threat and imprisoned him. Both Obasanjo and Buhari were the only post-military presidents who completed relatively stable tenures. Yaradua, backed by Obasanjo, didn’t last long due to health reasons, and his family had strong ties to the military. Then there was Jonathan, often labeled as weak. However, Jonathan’s decisions, while seen as timid, were also strategic. He understood Nigeria’s democracy was far more fragile than it appeared, which likely influenced his reluctance to make bold moves like the ones Tinubu is making now.

Tinubu, like Jonathan, lacks both a military background and family ties to the armed forces. His recent decisions in Rivers State, along with rumors of similar moves in Osun State, may seem bold but could be dangerously misguided. If history is any indication, Nigerians should prepare for potential political unrest even a possible resurgence of military influence and maybe a "power shift" back to "people" who ruled before 1999, if you know what I mean. Tinubu is already losing support from key northern power blocs that hold sway over the military.

Many are questioning why he hasn’t used his influence to address pressing national issues, like the herdsmen crisis, yet swiftly intervened in Rivers State, appointing an ex-military figure. This show of force could stir old memories within the military and we all know where that might lead.

I’ll revisit this topic at year’s end for an update. Hopefully, this doesn’t turn into an “I told you so” moment, because if it does, it likely won’t end well for anyone. Tinubu’s diminishing support from the north is already a troubling sign. This isn’t looking good.

Just my 2 cents. Me I don't tell my family to brace up for if / when the ish hits the fan.

Where did they get the drones from first? 2025 would be interesting, There would be drone attacks and the Nigerian army would
A) Either deny they ever took place
Or
B) Save face and claim that they did it, instead of acknowledging the truth that terrorists are attacking Nigerians with drones.

What has she done wrong to deserve all these your ranting? Because she became a leader and potential Prime Minister of UK? If she was a nobody would you have an opinion even as it is your opinion about her doesn't still hold sh*t

Talking about Tribalism destroying anyone... it is the Igbos who are the most tribalistic. They are always quick to call out tribalism cos they see everything through the eye of tribes.

You can be Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba and proud. You can be proud of your heritage and be loud about it, it doesn't make you a bigot.

You know what makes you a tribal bigot? When you are always comparing yourself to other tribes, when you're always ready to prove to other tribes that your tribe is better than theirs. And that is exactly what Igbo people do all the time.

I can tell you my yoruba food, music, clothes are beautiful.... bit when I come out to display my culture and I show off asking questions like... see our food, see our festival, see our doctors, see our engineers and tell me any tribe that can beat us? <---- that is tribal bigotry

Who are loyalty for dey to before? To Obi of Onitsha?

Her loyalty or political linning does not change her root or both of her parents from being yorubas.
Her parents are yoruba? Just imagine that kind of completely illogical and stupid reasoning, that's like me saying "My kinsman hates me on behalf of my enemies but at least he is my kinsman so it's ok if he hates me", do you see how utterly stupid that sounds? If anything that makes the matter even worse. Make una comot this tribal nonsense from your front for once. It would bring about your destruction, the people who sold Africans to European slave masters were also from the same tribe, why don't we sing their praise? I mean going by your logic, those people did something wrong but at least they were Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa so it's ok, right? Olodo

Una go dey celebrate nonsense every time, black dis black dat, have you read her manifesto? Have you heard her views on the development of the African continent? Have you heard her views on reparations?

Mind you till this day a certain group are still being paid by the descendants of European countries for the atrocities that took place in WW2, Yet this so called new "black hero" does not believe the west owes Africa and the Caribbeans an apology not to talk of reparations as she believes the people here today are not the ones who carried out these atrocities against Africa yet the ones paying for WW2 were not even born when that event happened, make it make sense. Also, her husband na white man, her entire associates na white man.

She only remembered that she was black when she thought it was smart to play the " Us versus them" game, she tricked the gullible ones and now she's back being the coconut that she is, black / brown on the outside, white on the inside. No be every body wey come inside black kpangolo be real black person. Start paying attention to what people REALLY stand for before you throw your support behind them.
