Somalia:

There's a different between gutter rat and normal rat that lives in a well digged hole, on its own accord. There are different species or rats. The one we Yoruba call okete is pouch/Gambian rat. It is different from the ones found in gutters with it's distinctly elongated tail with a white tip. It can be found in domestic dwellings ,gutters etc cuz of urbanisation. That's does not make it less edible for this that can eat it.
If I kill one in the bush, I can eat it but not one found in a gutter or soakaway/sewage pit and the likes just cuz it's gross though they are the same species.

The Chinese, Vietnamese, Tibetans etc that eat the domestic rat species nko, shey dem die
