It was going to be a "lose-lose" situation for Erica whether she chose Laycon or not as regarding the reaction from Laycons fans.
I actually think they(leycon's fans) were hoping she would choose laycon and hopefully Laycon would turn the request down so they can have one up against Erica with the usual (she is the one leading him on, she is the one manipulating him and every adjective and verb they use to propagate their agenda) but to their utmost dismay, Erica chose Kidd.

Laycon has a lot of loud fans with good "social media influencing prowess" but then his actions in the house isn't proportional to the hype.

Nengi and Erica have their own core fans who whether they mess up will do little to their voting power reason being that they built their fan base organically i.e their fans are proportional to their hype.

Ozo and Kidd have their own fan base and may even be the "black horse" because shippers/ alliance always decide the extra votes on the last days and shipping mostly favour the man.

Miracle wasn't clearly the winner from beginning, Tobi was supposedly crowned from the stage but his action saw his fans switching to Miracle or TeddyA, then the Final was decided for Miracle by heavy voting from Miracle's fans, Tobi's fan because they fear CeeC might win it, then the shippers of Mina.

Even with Tacha's army of Fans the final will still be very stiff because a lot of other HM's fans will leave theirs to vote the one who has the chance to upset Tacha's(the enemy) winning which might see Mercy winning.
