Lagos has always benefited massively from the federal govt no one can despute that fact the massive development lagos has witnessed over the years was made possible by niger delta oil money only ingrates will be denying this obviously fact. It's just like abuja indigenes denying the billions of dollars the federal govt has pumped into abuja to make it what it is today. Without federal govt billions lagos would have been just like any other state in the sw.

So FG will keep pouring billions into regular dredging regularly when there are alternative ports and rail networks to deliver goods from the ports at cheaper costs? That doesn't make any business sense.

This is why the private sector has never seen the business sense in having any port in the landlocked Southeast.

Nobody will throw money down the sink to build a port for billions and continue dredging it with billions at regular times when there are even seaports and dry inland ports.

Please stop the propaganda. There’s no profitable business case for it just because regular dredging is required and many ecosystems will be destroyed along with potential flooding disasters.

What about the federal govt that's building railway to a desert in niger republic and even recently approved a #1.5t internal railway system in Kano state what's the federal govt generating from this region for it to deserve billions of dollars to be invested there compared to a 2 -3 years regular dredging of the river niger that will not only serve the Onitsha port but also ports in kogi and niger state?

It will cost nothing for the federal govt to dredge the river niger but ethnic politics won't allow those in power to do it. Dredging the river niger and making all the ports in the south south to function properly is far more important than even building a railway to niger republic.

oga there's no lie about this one...I was in Abuja on Monday, 99% of the people I discussed with ,praised Wike...even the 1% that mentioned the land allocation to his family that he was accused of still praised him.

it is illegal to arrest you, the police and the community leaders are sharing most part of the money, that's why the police is giving them backing to make arrests, Same thing is happening in my area here in Lagos(though not to the point of arresting), we had to get involved in the community management when the election came up, we have started working on using the funds for improved security service since we found the fraud involved in it.

Imagine where they were on paper paying each security man 40k but were paying them in reality 25k and the pattern went on for years, aside from other funds raised too, you will have to be patient and be paying it or take them to court or start planning like we did with other residents to get involved in the management of the community especially if they have elections.

Those vigilantes are working with the police they are the ones who are also training them I was once arrested for refusing to pay here in warri it was when we went to the station I realised they are working together.
