It was last week Thursday that I discussed with my engineer on the same topic and he promised to deliver in 6 weeks if the money is available.

Let me give detailed analysis as an engineer

A week for the foundation and DPC (German floor)
5 days for the block work
3 days for the carpenter slab form work
A day for slab casting (this depend on labor force present)
Let the slab cure for at least a week or 2 weeks before you start working on it to achieve good strength
First floor block work, columns and beam a week
Parapet 5 days
A week for Roofing (depending on height of the roof)
Once they start roofing you get the aluminum expert to start working, plumber and electrifying pipe laying to start working
Door and window installation will be 3 days
Plastering a week
A month for other finishes

It will be completed in 10 -15 weeks if no hindrance

Let's assume whatever money that will be needed is readily available, dry land is also available and cleared of trees and bushes.

Drawings and render also available.

Building is a contemporary design.

I'll appreciate it if anyone with idea gives a breakdown.

So I just completed a 10day quarantine yesterday and my sister din feel like going to church so I asked her for the nearest church to this avenue and she described it to me, Omo I see fine road and street like this, I just concluded if the church is as far as Lagos to Ibadan I'm treking it as I was going on the road and maintaining my walkway with my Bible, joter, hymnbook holding it on my hand like it's me and my father today at his presence got accosted by a white couple who prolly thought I was going same church with them decided to offer me a lift but so ion look novice or newbie to em I just smily refused (I hope they din feel offended tho) but I'll like to attest to the fact that I'm glad twasn't racism wey hit me on the first day of jetting out

So I finally got to church (4th picture) and everywhere seem quiet, no heavy metal and paparazzi from every angle Drum, sax and keyboard was in a piano everyone sitted solitary no moving around here and there but I noticed people were not much in church like Oyinbo una no dey go church ni after church I was like which service is this? just 1 hr 20min

Bro it's part of the experience you need in the field. I'm a structural engineer and have handled various projects

1. Don't work with people you can't control.
2. You need to be as active on site as your staff. If you're always away, they will make sure you are at loss.
3. Know the exact materials needed; not all experts know this, they rather depends on quotation. I personally can do the calculations of every materials needed and always keep record.
4. Don't make your staff too comfortable; they misbehave when you do. I started my first project at 25 (5 bedrooms duplex) but I don't make them feel too comfortable. I get all the materials needed, I make sure there's no wastage.

Hello guys my name is BAMIDELE and I just graduate from one of the top architectural university In the country... I've always dedicated my life and accountability to ensure the zeal to uplift the face of architecture in this country stands as a priority as I feel a lot of nigerians are not regulating building conformity when building..


I've gained experiences with site construction project over the years and loved every bit of site work, as I feel they enlarge my gang of ideology nin a way that makes me think differently when it comes to designing and construction.....


I worked under several engineers and architects, civil contractors and foreign expatriate in lagos, Abuja, port Harcourt and Ibadan,until 3 months ago when I landed my first contract to build a 2 unit of 3 bedroom apartment for a client from the united kingdom, I was so happy and fulfilled as this was one of my lifelong wish at least I can start to fend for my siblings and take care of my wonderful parent who have been helping me out with so little but with love and support....


Half of my workers are mid range over 48-55, and constitute the set of people who like to cheat me , I've been extremely nice to my workers in such a way you'll always love to work with me, I pay them promptly , sometimes cook for them and made sure they see enough gain when buying materials aside from their workmanship fee....

There's this carpenter that has been working for me over 2 weeks, he seemed cool at first and sweet coated whenever he dishes me daily report about his work and how well coordinated he works, I decided to give him a trial in the first place but the first work he did was so unsatisfactory he got me angry , someone over 40 years older than me, I gave him money to get nails for me which he never bought for the work , when I requested for the pack of nails he bought he gave me unreasonable excuses... And he was someone who was literally begging to get the job misbehaving to me....


as if that's not enough, I caught my bricklayer with a vehicle to the site loading over 4 bags of cement into the little van they brought, I wish I could record the shock all over his face and the way he was stammering .. And decent guy who I thought was reasonable enough to handle things for me, I sacked the motherfucker, the new one I employed is even worse, he thinks I'm a small buy kus I'm 22 and maybe he's feeling Intimidated by the portfolio of work I'm handling....

so many instances I can't even mention, after showing them love and care, allowing them to eat even when you are paying them well, they'll go at any length to rip you off...

please always open your eyes ooo, most of these worker's but not all are fond of acting crazy and take people they work for granted on site, they feel they are always smarter than. everyone else in the room and know how to cheat their way around you.... we have to do better and more as human...


greed is unnecessary as it won't define breakthrough moment for anybody and I have nothing but pity for these guys but at the same time inwont allow their greed ruin my work....

A geologist will be in the best position to help.

Hello, Please, i drilled my borehole on the 8th of August, and after the flushing, and installation, my water is not clean. I contacted the engineer, he said maybe the gravel packing was not enough so groundwater are getting into the hole. Have added alum, chlorine and caustic soda, yet no changes. Please, if you can help, i don't mind the bill, I just want clean water
