Jobs/Vacancies / The Latest And Easiest Way To Ace Any Job Interview In Nigeria by MrHelper21(m): 2:31pm On Oct 12, 2017
Interviewing Tips: Interview For Success

Having a job interview is seldom a pleasant experience. However, it doesn’t have to be pure torture as many interpret it. Many people fall into the trap of second guessing themselves. This creates worry, which can lead to panic. The end result is, someone else gets the job and not
you. In this article we will offer some useful advice on how to behave and conduct yourself at your next job interview. We will look at some interviewing techniques and ways to make that needed impression on your possibly new employer.

Preparation

Being prepared for the interview could mean the difference between getting the job and not. Employers will usually hire the person that makes the best impression at the interview. This is quite often over people who have far more skills, qualifications and experience. Being prepared
can quite often make or break the interview. Have everything the employer wants handy. Making a fact or data sheet can make a very good
impression. It shows the employer that you are keen and organized. Include referenced and your contact details.
When asked about your previous work experience, try to stay positive. Think about how this experience has helped prepare you for the job on offer. Even if your last position wasn’t idea, remain positive. Keep to how this job has helped you and prepared you for this position. Don’t
fall into the trap of being negative about former employers. This looks very bad and unprofessional. You may want to try preparing some responses ahead of time. This will help you think on your feet when they ask you something that you may not expect. Think about how you can word things to put that all important positive spin on them.

Interviewing Tips:

What You Can Expect From An Interview

Knowing what to expect can mean the difference between performing well and making a fool out of yourself. If you know what to expect you can better prepare yourself for the challenging questions and scenarios they may pose. Generally, when you begin and interview there is a period of introduction. Once those have been completed, you may be offered the opportunity to speak about yourself. You should really try to keep this relevant to the current job offer. Although your personal life maybe of great interest, the time for an interview is limited so best stick to what they need to know and want to hear. You may be asked to demonstrate your current knowledge of the company. You may be asked this directly or in the form of a question such as. Why would you like to work for us? Prepare yourself by doing some research about the company. This shows the employer that you have a genuine interest in working for them and are not afraid of doing some research. Nearly every interview asks that dreaded question, what are your weaknesses? The worst answer that you can give is none at all. Everyone has weaknesses so this answer will not impress. This question is more a test of your answering skills than anything. Speak about how you deal with your weaknesses. I make lists of things to do to make sure I remember everything or I use spell check to make sure everything is correct. This answers show your weaknesses
and how you cope. You will also likely get the opportunity to speak about your strengths. Although you may have many, keep these relevant to the job on offer. Again, interview time is limited and you don’t want to waste opportunities. Preparing yourself ahead of time and knowing what to expect can make a great difference in how well you perform in an interview. By being able to handle yourself well, you’ll be able to make that important first impression.

Business / How To Start A Successful Restaurant Business In Nigeria With Less Than 100,000 by MrHelper21(m): 2:14pm On Oct 12, 2017
How to Start a Successful Restaurant Business In Nigeria With Less Than 100,000 (FULL COURSE FROM A SUCCESSFUL RESTAURANT BUSINESS OWNER)

What do you know about running a restaurant?

Having your own restaurant is one of the most fulfilling and enjoyable business ventures. Food is a renewable commodity. This means that people won’t stop looking for different sources of food because dining out is entertaining as well as functional.

Many people dream of owning their own restaurants, whether it is fast food, coffee shops or gourmet. In reality, many people fail to sustain their restaurants and most of them die during their first year of operation. This is due to the lack of preparation and dedication on the part of the owner. Many people jump into the industry too fast without really weighing the pro’s and con’s of the project or having the necessary expertise.

However, there is a way to lessen the risk that is associated with new ventures such as restaurants. Preventive planning and proper management are keys towards success but there are also small things which count in the whole process of owning a restaurant.

Every business needs a business plan. Business plans are meant to lay down the different conditions and characteristics that should be inherent in the business. The availability of a good business plan which has been carefully formulated is a step towards success. You will find information about creating a business plan in an upcoming chapter, however, some points to consider are :

-Crystal clear description of the concept of the restaurant

The objective and the general description of the concept of the restaurant need to be specific. This will give a general overview of what the restaurant intends to do and for whom it intends to do it. The concept of the restaurant needs to be established because it is the core idea by which everything else will follow.

There are many things to be considered in designing the overall concept of the restaurant (excluding food) such as:

What type of restaurant do you want?

What special features would it have which would set it aside from all the other similar restaurants in town?

What’s the overall selling factor of the restaurant?

-Target market

The restaurant’s target market needs to be identified. No single restaurant should try to aim at targeting all kinds of people. Even fast food restaurants have a specific target market, even though it may seem at first that it caters to people of all walks of life.

The concept of the restaurant needs to be aligned with the target market. The target market will depend on the owner of the restaurant, and the selection can be based on the type of food or even the personal preference of the owner.

-Food category, food items and their prices

Before starting a restaurant or even before entertaining the thought of opening up a restaurant, the kind of food to be served is usually identified first.

Most owners put up restaurants according to their favorite kind of food. There are also restaurants which are inspired by one-time experiences such as eating excellent foreign foods.

There are many choices that are available for aspiring restaurant owners. The details of the food category should be identified next. The specific items in the menu should also be identify. Of course, the pricing of these items is very important for it will determine the feasibility of the business.

-Financial evaluation

After the prices of the food items have been determined, it’s time to develop the financials of the project. You can hire a professional consultant in determining the financial viability of the restaurant. All the project costs and risks should be included in the business plan.

-Ownership

An enthusiast may consider creating a small corporation or a partnership or a single proprietorship to be able to give the restaurant a legal entity. You should check the local requirements for creating such institutions

-Marketing plan

Include a marketing plan because it is integral to the success of the restaurant.

There are so many other things that should be considered before entering into the restaurant business. The ones listed above are only part of the whole scheme of restaurant creation. The most important thing is that the restaurant should reflect the preferences of the owner so as to make it enjoyable. However, a lot of thought should be given to the way it’s going to generate money because this is the only way that the restaurant will become sustainable.

Education / All 2017/2018 Futa Post Utme Aspirants Should Check In And Thank Me Later by MrHelper21(m): 4:38pm On Sep 01, 2017
RE: WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT FUTA POST UTME, WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND ALL THE STUPID LIES THAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD!!!

Here are popular questions asked by many confused applicants who choose the Federal University of Technology, Akure as their school of choice. All answers are authoritatively and directly from the office of the registrar:

1. I scored below 200 in my UTME, Please what's my chances of admission to FUTA??

Answer: As frank as this answer might seem, its purely the truth, even if you score 198, FUTA won't admit you. Only students who score 200 and above are invited for Post UTME in FUTA. Even in the 2012/2013 UTME where too many students failed, the vice chancellor in an interview with newsmen said, FUTA stands a first class university in Nigeria, and would for no reason bend its cutoff mark from 200. If you scored below
200, please get a change of school form. This looks harsh and frank but its the total truth. Sorry, if you are disappointed.

2. I chose FUTA as second choice, is it true they don't admit second choice.

Answer: This is absolutely false. FUTA admits both first and second choice. There are cases where students who chose FUTA as second choice get to see their names first in the admission list even before candidates who made the school their first choice. It all depends on your total score in UTME and POST UTME.

3. How is FUTA Grade calculated for admission

Answer: UTME score is divided by 8 to make 50marks, Post UTME score is divided by 2 to make 50marks totaling to 100marks

4. What's the structure of FUTA Post UTME?

Answer. a. FUTA Post UTME is a Computer Based test. (CBT). It has been so since 2010 and remains so. Meaning you write the exam with computer

b. FUTA Post UTME consists of 25questions to be answered in 30minutes. 4marks each, totaling to 100marks. 5questions each from your four subjects chosen in UTME and 5questions from general knowledge/current affairs totaling 25questions

5. If I score below 50% in my Post UTME, what's my chances of admission??

Answer: Frankly speaking, FUTA admits only candidates who scored above 50%. There is nothing like 48%, 49% supplementary admission

6. If I score above 50% in my Post UTME, but score below my chosen course cut-off mark, is that all for me?

Answer: No, there is still hope. After all candidates who made their cutoff mark are offered admission, FUTA sells change of course form with list of departments who still have spaces, where you are opportune to buy the form and choose another course. Please note, the following courses are the most competitive in FUTA hence has higher cut off mark. Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Architecture and Microbiology.

6. I don't know anybody in FUTA. Do I need to know a senior staff to gain my admission??

Answer: U absolutely don't need to know anybody. FUTA admits purely based on merit. Even if you know the Vice chancellor and your Post UTME score is below 50%, there is definitely nothing to be done about your admission.
