Mallam Melle Kolo Kyari becomes the new Group Managing Director of the NNPC.

Mallam Melle Kolo Kyari was appointed the new group managing director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (nnpc). Making him the 19th Managing Group Director, after his predecessor Dr. Maikanti Baru retired.

Mallam Melle Kolo Kyari in his speech which was delivered during the valedictory session and handing over ceremony which was held at the NNPC amphitheatre in Abuja said that He is concious of being accountable and transperent. And that is leadership will work towards production and reserve of petroleum product. Also that he will work with the public expectations of accountability, profitability, sustain uninterrupted petroleum production and supply and performance reports.

Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru bows out as the GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (nnpc).

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation held a statutory valedictory session for Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, FAEng, FNSE. as He drops the mantle of leadership to the new GMD.

Dr. Maikanti Baru was the Technical Adviser (gas matters) to the minister of state for petroleum Resources, before he was appointed as the Group Managing Director of NNPC on 4th, july 2016. By His Execellency, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Maikanti Kacalla Baru is an indigene of Misau, in Misau local government area of Bauchi state. He obtained his West Africa School Certificate in 1978 with Distinction Aggregate 06 from the Federal Government College, Jos, and later bagged a First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1982. He also attended the University of Sussex, United Kingdom, where he graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in computer aided engineering in 1987.
