That Boy is not just a noise maker and attention seeker but a complete nuisance to Ndigbo!! I used to think he was a True philantropist until I realized he was actually laying a foundation for his future ambition to become the president of Nigeria. He knew how important it is to get the support of North that was why he channeled all his resources to that part of the country with his Rochas Foundation ish!! My problem with him is that he talks too much and do little! That reminds me of how he used Heavy Bulldozers to destroy people's shops and buildings at OKIGWE hoping that he would construct and rebuild the market within the shortest period of time! But was shocked to notice the work has been abandoned after recking havoc in that small city! To make matter worst, he actually hired direct labour to do the job! Instead of bringing in reputable construction firms to handdle the project. Recall how he hurriedly relieved 10,000 teachers of their jobs on assumption of office and left them with nothing? Sighting that his predecessor used that means to scam the state. Till date, virtually all of them are still jobless. I can go on and on!!! LAST BULLET One of the worst SINS he comitted was to have allowed himself to be brainwashed by APC's bigwigs thinking he would get the presidency/vice president under the platform of APC!!! Dude goofed! I'm sure he's seriously suffering and smiling now coz its so glear to him that's he's in the wrong party! But he knows his PRIDE is at stake if he eventually makes a U turn !!!! Who doesn't know that APC is a dumping ground for Desperate Politicians? ........... Ok the supporter of APC peeps can begin to attack me now! I owe no one apology for being Blunt and saying it the way it is!!! .... Its my opinion! Not yours!!! |
Wow!!!! Just found good reasons why I should eat Popcorn often! Never knew its one of the world's healthiest snack for the body!!!! When it comes to healthy snacks, plain popcorn is at the top of most nutritionists' recommendation lists. Air-popped and eaten plain, popcorn is low in calories and fat and high in fiber and beneficial antioxidants, especially when compared to other common snack foods. Popcorn is a whole-grain food that can be eaten as part of healthy diet that includes at least six servings of grains every day. Features Plain, air-popped popcorn contains about 30 calories and 1 gram of fiber per cup. The nutritional value of other types of popcorn products varies greatly, depending on the type of ingredients that are added. If you buy microwavable, stove-top or packaged popcorn, check the nutrition facts label to see how many calories, grams of fat and milligrams of salt the product contains. For the healthiest popcorn, compare brands and varieties and choose those with the lowest calories and least fat and salt. Significance Popcorn is on the list of whole-grain foods included in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Dietary Guidelines for Americans. It is fourth on the list of most commonly consumed grains in the United States, after whole wheat, whole oats and whole- grain corn. That makes it a significant contributor to the grain and fiber intake of the average American. At least half of the six daily servings of grains recommended in the dietary guidelines should come from whole grains. According to a study published in the May 2008 issue of the "Journal of the American Dietetic Association," popcorn eaters consume more than twice as many whole grains and more than 22 percent more fiber than people who don't eat popcorn. Benefits In addition to its role as a high-fiber food that helps promote gastrointestinal health, popcorn contains antioxidants, substances that protect body cells from damage that can lead to disease. In research presented at the 238th annual meeting of the American Chemical Society, University of Scranton professor Joe Vinson indicated that popcorn contains more antioxidants known as polyphenols than any other snack food. Overall, Dr. Vinson found that whole grains contain as many antioxidants as fruits and vegetables, while in comparison, refined and processed grains contain very few. Additional Nutrients Although popcorn does not contribute significant amounts of any nutrients, it supplies trace amounts of the B vitamins thiamin, niacin, B6 and folate, and the minerals magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, copper and iron. One cup of popcorn supplies 6 grams of carbohydrates. What little fat occurs naturally in popcorn is in the form of healthier monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats. Popcorn contains no saturated or trans fats, which are considered to be bad for your health. Expert Insight Heli Roy, Ph.D., registered dietitian and associate professor in the Nutrition and Health Department at Louisiana State University, says that unsalted, fat- free, air-popped popcorn is an economical and healthy snack that only becomes unhealthy when we add oil or butter. Besides adding fat, putting butter or oil on popcorn can add up to 90 calories per cup. Instead, Dr. Roy suggests flavoring popcorn with reduced-fat grated cheese or onion or garlic powder. http://www.livestrong.com/article/97610-nutritional-value-popcorn/

A seriously ill American Ebola patient arrived in his home country from Liberia late Saturday morning, delivered in a specially equipped medical plane on his way to an Atlanta hospital prepared to treat the first- ever Ebola victim known to be on U.S. soil. An ambulance rushed Dr. Kent Brantly, one of two Americans stricken by the deadly viral hemorrhagic fever while helping with a major outbreak in West Africa, from Georgia's Dobbins Air Reserve Base to Atlanta's Emory University Hospital shortly after the plane landed. Emory has said it will treat Brantly, 33, and eventually the other American -- fellow missionary Nancy Writebol -- in a special isolation unit, where physicians believe they'll have a better chance to steer them back to health while ensuring the virus doesn't spread. Tennessee doctor who worked with Ebola patients quarantines self Organizers expect the plane will return to Liberia to pick up Writebol, and they hope she can be brought to Georgia early next week, said Todd Shearer, spokesman for Christian charity Samaritan's Purse with whom both Americans were affiliated. Brantly, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Writebol, of North Carolina, became sick while caring for Ebola patients in Liberia, one of three West African nations hit by an outbreak that health officials believe has sickened more than 1,300 people and killed more than 700 this year. Treatment at Emory hospital Both Brantly and Writebol are to be taken to a special isolation unit at Atlanta's Emory University Hospital. Dr. Bruce Ribner, who oversees the unit, emphasized that precautions are in place to prevent the virus from spreading. Everything that comes in and out of the unit will be controlled, he said, and it will have windows and an intercom for staff to interact with patients without being in the room. The Emory unit was created in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is based down the road. It aims to optimize care for those with highly infectious diseases and is one of four U.S. institutions capable of providing such treatment. Still, Emory has not had any experience dealing with Ebola, nor has any U.S. medical facility had a known patient with the virus. "This particular pathogen is new to the United States," Ribner said. In the 1990s, an Ebola strain tied to monkeys -- Ebola- Reston -- was found in the United States, but no humans got sick from it, according to the CDC. The World Health Organization reports that the outbreak in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea has infected more than 1,300 people and killed more than 700 this year. Ebola is not airborne or waterborne, and spreads through contact with organs and bodily fluids such as blood, saliva, urine and other secretions of infected people. Fear, conspiracy theories As the patients make their way home, the idea of purposefully bringing Ebola into the United States has rattled many nerves. "The road to hell was paved with good intentions," wrote one person, using the hashtag #EbolaOutbreak. "What do we say to our kids When they get sick& die?" On the website of conspiracy talker Alex Jones, who has long purported the CDC could unleash a pandemic and the government would react by instituting authoritarian rule, the news was a feast of fodder. "Feds would exercise draconian emergency powers if Ebola hits U.S.," a headline read on infowars.com. Ribner repeatedly downplayed the risk for anyone who will be in contact with Brantly or Writebol. "We have two individuals who are critically ill, and we feel that we owe them the right to receive the best medical care," Ribner said. The fight against Ebola All concerns about the United States pale in comparison to the harsh reality in the hardest-hit areas. Even in the best-case scenario, it could take three to six months to stem the epidemic in West Africa, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the CDC. This is "an unprecedented outbreak accompanied by unprecedented challenges," Dr. Margaret Chan, the head of the World Health Organization, said Friday. Addressing the leaders of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast, Chan noted that the virus is moving over porous borders, by plane. It has gone into rural areas where it's hard to get adequate treatment, as well as crowded cities where it can spread more easily. "This outbreak is moving faster than our efforts to control it," she said. "If things keep getting worse, it could kill many more people, disrupt societies and economies, and spread to other countries. There's no vaccine, though one is in the works. There's no standardized treatment for the disease, either; the most common approach is to support organ functions and keep up bodily fluids such as blood and water long enough for the body to fight off the infection. The National Institutes of Health plans to begin testing an experimental Ebola vaccine in people as early as September. Tests on primates have been successful. So far, the outbreak is confined to West Africa. Although infections are dropping in Guinea, they are on the rise in Liberia and Sierra Leone. iamord: Stop spreading false news. ghana has refused to seek IMF bail out ,and is looking @ other options. I think instead of making fun here, there should be one or two lessons you people can pick from the ghanaian economic situation. Ghana became the fastest growing economy in the world. And a low middle income. Country, the prospects where high and to top it up the country discovered oil in commercial quantities, everything seemed to be moving well and it could only better. Ghana was considered as a. Beacon of hope to africa, but there has been a canker worm which had not been burnt out, tribalism! The power Issue and inflation was Not What we are seeing Today. the gas plant project was already set Up. But people didn't see all this cause they were just triblastic cos the then. Incumbent party was akan. They got their heart desire and ndc got in .. And have destroyed the country with corruption and poor planning. They stopped a lot. Of the ungoing projects and put their own people in. But I know ghana will bounce back and take its rightful placethat's Ghana's business not ours! |
If I were this guy called Jonathan, would sit my ass back here in Nigeria ... We have too many issues already besetting this Nation at this point in time! ... Chibok girls still in captivity, wave of female suicide bombers, Boko haram fresh threat to bomb akwaibom, possible Ebola outbreak in Anambra state, and other issues are even enough reason to boycot this useless leadership summit! The leaders of Liberia and sierralone did the needful by staying back home to avoid unnecessarily humiliation by the US government. |
Yea ... That's nice |
So where exactly did Sahara Reporters get this News from? Well, we shall find out !!! |
This is Nonsense!! They came up with this move after they've been widely condemned for allowing Dead body flown into this country from Liberia!!! Its a shame that the government is coming up with this decision when the DAMAGE has already been done!! Its too late to start carrying out a Test on the body! This is what a sensible government would have done over there in Liberia before bringing in the body down here!! I just pray and hope the Victim died of some other ailment! Coz if its confirmed EBOLA! Then you know, we are Finished! |
