Samson Siasia will be confirmed as Nigeria coach on September 1, just four days before the country host Madagascar in an African Nations Cup qualifier. Dominic Iorfa, who heads the NFF's Technical Committee responsible for hiring coaches, told KickOffNigeria.com that an agreement had been reached in principle with the former international. "Siasia will be officially confirmed on September 1 as the coach of the Super Eagles," Iorfa, himself a former international, told KickOffNigeria.com. "He and I have talked and we have agreed in principle. But there are still some other matters to sort out." Iorfa would not confirm if Siasia would be in charge for the Madagascar game four days later, but says the Technical Committee had to announce a list of players for the game to allow time to get invited players in. http://www.kickoff.com/news/17328/samson-siasia-to-be-unveiled-as-super-eagles-coach.php

mama-gee:Am Starting to suspect the nff and siasia, the nff foot draging about the negotiation is getting more pronounced.. |
I just dont understand the underground ball game between both parties, Siasia should not throw this opportunity away and the Nff should come to terms with him, because the earlier the better |
The Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] has named Austin Eguavoen as the coach to lead Nigeria against Madagascar in their 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on September 4 in Nigeria. NFF technical committee chairman, Dominic Iorfa, disclosed this on Friday when he announced a 26-man squad for the tie. Heartland boss Samson Siasia, who is in talks with the NFF to rebuild the Super Eagles, will have to wait for another day as talks over remunerations stall an agreement by both parties. While Siasia is asking for a monthly wage of $100,000 and a sign-on fee of $1m, the NFF say they can only afford $20,000 monthly and even then, based on Siasia paying his assistant. 11 home-based players were name in the squad with several in the World Cup squad missing, including youngsters Uwa Echiejile and Dele Adeleye as well as old timers Taye Taiwo, Sani Kaita, Rabiu Afolabi and Yakubu Aiyegbeni. Tunisia based-Micheal Eneramo and FC Gronigen midfielder Oluwafemi Ajilore make a return http://www.africaplays.com/news/entry;3485.html |

I think both sides should be realistic with the negotiation and arrive at a decision. |
Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) assistant secretary, Emmanuel Ikpeme, has slammed Samson Siasia for his wage demands. The NFF is currently in negotiations with the former Flying Eagles’ youth coach, as they seek a replacement for Swede Lars Lagerback, who stepped down after the World Cup. However, the former Nigerian striker's salary demands of a $1million signing on fee, and a $100,000 a month, has proved to be a sticky point. Ikpeme maintains the NFF simply can not afford to meet Siasia's demands. "To me what Siasia is demanding as a national coach is good, but we have to do things according to what we believe we can conveniently pay. "We'll not pay Siasia a salary that we'll turn around later to default on our promise. "If I may recall, the salary we paid Berti Vogts ($30,000) was offset by Globacom. That of the immediate past coach of the Eagles, Lars Lagerback ($330,000 monthly) was paid by the Presidential Task Force because of the World Cup "Shuaibu Amodu, whom the FA paid by itself, did not earn what Siasia is demanding for right now. I think we should go for what we can afford to offer in order for anybody not to regret it later in the future." Below are Salaries Of Ex-Super Eagles’ Coaches: Foreign Technical Advisers 1. Lars Lagerback: $1.8m for 5 Months He Earned $330,000 (N50m) Monthly 2. Berti Vogts $30,000 (N4.5m) Monthly 3. Milutinovic Bora $180,000 for 6 Months. He Earned $30,000 (N4.5m) Monthly 4. Jo Bonfrere $150,000 Sign-On Fee. Plus $30,000 Monthly Salary Nigerian Coaches 1. Shuaibu Amodu $15,000 (N2.3m) Monthly 2. AustinEguavoen $10,000 (N1.5m)Monthly 3. Christian Chukwu $3,300 (N500,000)Monthly http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/football-golf-boxing/10304.html |
Good plan by sai1, I can see that he knows what he is saying and also he can return the lost glory back to the SE, lets all support him and wish him well, |
Samson Siasia said yesterday that his immediate task was to build a new national team.He noted that it would take not less than two years to do so and that results will begin to manifest after that. Siasia “I am looking at the next World Cup. It means I just have to build a new team. Traces of that team can begin from the next Nations Cup which is in two years time. From then one can see a few signals but in four years we hope to have a strong team. I know that it will not be easy. I have a good plan for this job. I really need to go back to how it was done in the past. I need a camp for the local players. The local league is very important and I need many players from there. Going by my experience with local players I’ll certainly need a camp for building of a team. They can be released for league matches every Thursday. Westerhof did it. We can do it again. We will not only be in camp training. We will be playing friendly matches from time to time. There are so many things we need to build into the local players. They are not as daring as we used to be. As players, we were inspired by large crowd at match venues. We were charged anytime we saw good crowd. These days, it cows some players.I really don’t know why. To get over that, they need exposure. So, we have to play many friendlies. And I must have to camp them to effect so many tactical and technical changes. Scouting at home and abroad will be taken seriously. There are challenges and I’m ready for them.” Siasia spoke as he boarded the plane to Abuja to finalize talks with the football federation on his terms for his as the new coach for the Eagles. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/08/18/siasia%e2%80%99s-plans-for-local-players/ |

Lawyers representing Samson Siasia have told MTNFootball.com exclusively that they are confident a deal for the former Nigeria international to take over the Super Eagles would be reached on Tuesday. Siasia's lead lawyer Ijere Austin told MTNFootball.com that he is hopeful a deal would be struck Tuesday when they meet again with top officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). "Samson is desperate to satisfy the yearnings of Nigerians who love him so much and have been clamouring for him to get the job. So, he is ready to finalise discussions with the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday," disclosed Austin, who is chief executive of Pitch Affairs Limited. "We have discussed and he has agreed to lower his demands. This we hope to convince the NFF when we meet again on Tuesday. Although I won't be able to give you details now until we finish our discussions. "We also believe this contract will be improved on after he has impressed on the job." MTNFootball.com has equally scooped that Siasia will now settle for a monthly salary of five million naira (about $35,000) and a signing-on fee of 50 million naira. The lawyer also defended the $1 million sign-on fee and $100,000 a month salary Siasia demanded for during contract talks with the NFF board last week in Abuja, arguing that it is from this amount that he will pay his backroom staff. "He asked for this sum because he plans to hire some European coaches to assist him in this assignment. He hired a goalkeeper coach and a trainer from Europe when he handled the Flying Eagles at the 2009 U- 20 World Cup," said Austin. " And with the Super Eagles job, he would need far more men to succeed. These are some of the things that made him to ask for that remuneration in the first instance. "Therefore he wasn't happy at all when it was reported that he wanted so much money at the detriment of the job." http://africanfootball.mtnfootball.com/live/content.php?Item_ID=32266
