Nigerian businessman Femi Otedola‘ s net
worth has plunged from $1. 8 Billion to $550
Million following a massive drop in the stock
price of Forte Oil, the Nigerian Stock
Exchange-listed petroleum marketing
company .

As at the close of trading on Friday, Forte
Oil’s share price plunged to a one -year low
of N145 ( $0. 44) per share , down from an
all -time
high of N342 ( $ 1. 1) in March this year
when Forbes published its annual ranking of
the world’ s richest people .

Apart from the tumble in Forte Oil’s stock
price , Otedola ’s fortune has also been
adversely affected by a central bank
devaluation of the Naira in June . In dollar
terms, the devaluation in addition to Forte’ s
floundering share price has knocked about
$1. 3 billion off the value of Otedola’ s
fortune which was pegged at $1. 8 billion in
March .

Otedola, who is Forte Oil Plc ’s Chairman, is
now worth only $550 million as at the close
of business of Friday, according to the
FORBES ’
billionaires’ database .

Femi Otedola was unavailable for comments
. However , an analyst at a Lagos- based
Investment bank hinted that the share price
drop may not be unconnected to the current
recession in Nigeria that has witnessed 2
consecutive quarters of negative growth with
inflation soaring to levels as high as 17 %.
Investors are dumping Forte Oil’ s shares as
a
result of wide -spread disappointing results
of Nigerian Companies of which Forte Oil Plc
is also not immune. The company ’ s profit
after
tax was down at N2 . 80 billion ( $8. 8
million) for the third quarter ended Sept 30
2016 as against N 4. 28 billion ( $13. 5
million ) for the same period in 2015 .

Sources also attribute the results to reduced
demand for energy consumption as a result
of the recently increased pump price which
has adversely affected the fortunes of oil
marketing companies in Nigeria.

Idowu Oyedeji, a graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, had the accident some months back, and she was rendered unconscious for a period of time, before making a miraculous recovery.

Sharing the journey, so far, on her Facebook page, she wrote:

“ Though words fail me, I just have to say something. I want to show my appreciation and
thanks to everyone; friends, family and even those who don’t know me personally, for
your tremendous support during my lowest point and darkest hour.
It was truly overwhelming and I know that there is indeed nothing in the world that I can repay everyone with but from the deepest part of my heart, the unexplainable emotions known to man and the space of eternity, I want to say THANK YOU.
Eventhough I was mostly unconscious at the hospital, I felt the wave of prayers, support and love in everyway and I’m eternally grateful. And
to the King Eternal, Immortal, Invisible, only Wise God, be all my thanks and adoration forever and ever, The one without whom I would not be
here today. .
The life we have is very precious and we should always be thankful for it because I have come to know firsthand the thin line between life and

Skillz does not allow her to cook. She says
their cook
leaves on Saturday mornings to go and see
his family, and when he leaves she makes
the move to cook, but her caring husband
stops her
from doing so and encourages them to eat
out.
She also said she works on Sundays before
now, but that has also stopped because he
has advised her to use that day to always
rest.

“ Before I met my husband, I used to work on
Sundays, but he always says that I need to
rest. Our chef leaves on Saturday mornings to

released Samsung Galaxy Note 7, exploding
in other parts of the world, a Nigerian
Samsung user has experienced the same
traumatic explosion from his device.

According to Uju Patricia who shared the
photos, the man in the photos was on top of
a bike when his Samsung Note 3, (a minor of
the Note 7 which was released years before
it) exploded, caught fire and injured him like
this.

Chinweotito Ehiogu was
reportedly electrocuted in the
church premises while the
Sunday service was going on
at Dominion Grace Christian
Centre at Mgbaja Ossah in
Umuahia North LGA of Abia
State, Punchng reports.
He was said to have died while
attempting to rescue another
member of the church,
Chidiebere, who was allegedly
trapped by an unclad wire
connected to the church’s
generator. Chidiebere, who
was barefooted, was also
affected by the electrocution.
A source said the victims were
immediately taken to a
hospital, where Chinweotito
was confirmed dead, while
Chidiebere was revived. He
added that the remains of
Ehiogu was later brought back
to the church for series of
prayers. The G.O of the
church, Pastor Simeon
Chibuzor, who confirmed the
incident, described it as
unfortunate.

Kemi Olunloyo , has slammed Nigerian
rapper , Eldee for purportedly promoting rape .
This came after the rapper lashed out at
international celebrity socialite , Amber Rose
, on her annual ‘ Slut Walk’ .

The ‘ Slut Walk’ is a transnational movement
of protest marches calling for an end to ra
pe culture . Specifically, participants protest
against explaining or excusing ra pe by
referring to any aspect of a woman ’ s
appearance .

El Dee took to his Twitter handle few days
ago to blast Amber Rose .

He posted

“ I ’ m upset because there is a
deliberate effort by the media to poison the
minds of our daughters . Amber Rose is a
hoe.
“ This is not a media event. It ’s an
awareness event. For someone that lives in
the USA , ignorance does not excuse
stupidity in researching something that
originated in Canada and gone global . ”

Reacting to the rapper ’s comment , the
controversial social media personality
described Eldee as an illiterate who has not
researched ‘ Slut Walk’ .

In a press release signed by her publicist
David Perez , she said ;

“ Research! U are on the Internet. Stop
promoting RAPE in # Nigeria . This # slowpoke
