Religion / Money Keeps Missing Under Buhari’s Watch – Pastor Akinrinlola by MrRational1(m): 11:37pm On Oct 09, 2017
According to him, it was not an offence to constructively criticise Buhari and keep his government on its toes to forestall the unprecedented looting of the treasury through award of contracts and lack of due process.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Akinrinlola said: “I do not like the type of Nigerian who always attaches political sentiment with everything.
“Yes! Some of us are well known for constructive criticism against president Buhari and APC government. It’s all for the best of Nigeria to always put any ruling government to her toes.
“But some of you who see us as opposition voice must also know that they are not honest and true to themselves when most of the time they see every criticism against Buhari and APC government as error or partisanship.
“People must also be educated that stealing of money, embezzlement of funds or corrupt practices are not done via bank withdrawals or by taking away physical cash from government vault, but through award of contracts and lack of due process.
“Under Same Buhari, Oil money to the tune of $2.8bn was missing as at when our Naira was still having value. That reminds me of the song of Fela Anikulapo of blessed memory.
“Again, as PTF Chairman, $500m was also missing which led to the collapse of PTF till date.
“Now, as President and Minister of Petroleum, $26bn is missing and you said people are not educated for asking question. You said a serving son of God has committed sin for speaking out his mind.
“Some APC stooges call me a political Pastor all because I am used to speaking against the propaganda of this current government to always cover their wrong doing and divert public attention from their corrupt practices.
“What manner of Nigerian are you if everything you see about Buhari and APC is all correct?
“Why is money always missing under Buhari?”

Religion / Oyedepo Reveals How God Saved Him From Plane Crash by MrRational1(m): 10:26am On Oct 07, 2017
The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has revealed how God delivered him and others from what he described as a “potential plane crash.”
Oyedepo, who did not disclosed details of the trip, said the plane had a mid-air crisis, but God intervened.
He was sharing his testimony during a service at the church’s world headquarters in Ota, Ogun State.
According to Oyedepo, “God took control and landed the plane.
“There was a mid-air crisis, there was serious turbulence, but there was no apprehension. Jesus took control.
“He landed the plane safely. And we were just celebrating the faithfulness of God.”

Crime / I’m Still Wondering How Evans Lured Me Into Crime – Civil Engineerin Graduate by MrRational1(m): 9:58am On Oct 07, 2017
A fifty three -yr-vintage suspected robber and kidnapper, Linus Opara, has said he did not know how billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwumadike a.Ok.A Evans lured him into his gang.

Rather, my hair grew to become white because of long struggling after my graduation as a civil engineer from the University of Ibadan. It remains a surprise to me how an illiterate man or woman like Evans was able to entice me into kidnapping and all his illicit enterprise.

”I studied Civil Engineering within the University of Ibadan. I am married with 4 kids and they may be nevertheless education. My spouse is a graduate of Accountancy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), but she has not secured work till date.

“When we reached Alakija, I advised him and he said I ought to not fear myself; that he had instructed others to permit me to visit my house. When he referred to as once more, he requested me to send my financial institution account wide variety to him. I sent my First Bank account variety to him and he wired the sum of N2 million to my account. I become surprised.
”The 2nd time, it was the identical method as he already had my bank account range. He sent me the sum of N700,000.

“When he referred to as me for the 1/3 activity, I informed him that I was no longer involved, due to the fact I started out sensing some errors in the commercial enterprise, like getting afraid for the type of cash he changed into giving me. Politics / Goodluck Jonathan Blasts United Nations Over Global Crisis by MrRational1(m): 9:42am On Oct 07, 2017
Former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, has said that the United Nations is failing in its responsibility to ensure global peace.
Jonathan stated this at a panel, on the dialogue of civilisations at Rhodes Forum’s 15th anniversary summit in Greece.
Speaking on the theme, ‘Multipolarity and Dialogue in Regional and Global Developments: Imagining Possible Futures’, the former president said dialogue remains crucial to the realisation of a peaceful world.
According to Jonathan, the UN security council charged with the responsibility of maintaining international peace “has been more effective in opening new frontiers for conflicts, rather than providing answers to the ones it sought to resolve”.
He also said the UN may have succeeded in preventing third world war, but cannot boast of ensuring global peace.
“That the world needs peace is a declaration no one ever contests, given what the absence of peace portends,” Jonathan said.
“The ongoing wars in Syria, Iraq, distressing Rohingya dilemma in Myanmar, as well as a threat of conflicts and wars in other parts of the world, are all signs that the UN is failing the world.
“In each case, the UN was helpless in resolving the conflicts.
“That the only road to a peaceful world is through dialogue is also incontrovertible. What then raises a valid contention is the argument over the steps taken by leaders towards realising peace. Are they the right or wrong steps?
“At the end of World War II, 51 nations came together to form the United Nations on 24 October, 1945. The UN security council was also formed the same day.
“The UN was set up principally as a replacement for the ineffective League of Nations, in order to prevent another world war and guarantee world peace.
“In terms of carrying out the mandate of preventing a Third World War, we could say the UN has done exceptionally well up to this moment.
“However, we cannot say the same thing over its mandate of ensuring world Peace as it is obvious that the UN has not achieved much in this regard.
“From 1945, when 51 nations came together and now that the UN has 193 member states, the world has not known real peace.”
He said Nigeria and some other African countries by employing intense and purposeful dialogue have “resolved, as well as prevented, many conflicts and stabilised and strengthened democracy in many countries in the sub-region.”
He, therefore, called for a review of the UN’s approach to dialogue.
“Late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, a Nigerian philosopher and musician of international repute, tried to rebrand the UN in his own way, by calling it ‘Disunited Nations.’ He might have exaggerated. Nonetheless, his grouse was that nations, going through bitter conflicts were all members of the UN,” he said.
“Yet, the global body, primarily set up to guarantee world peace, appears not to have been able to muster the required willpower, to resolve those issues that cause conflicts, for decades.
“The security council which is the most powerful UN organ, with “primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security”, cannot inspire that confidence, because of the way it is presently configured.
“If anything, the system, which has remained unreviewed in over half a century, has been more effective in opening new frontiers for conflicts, rather than providing answers to the ones it sought to resolve.
“It is important that all member nations of the UN must have faith in the organisation, and believe that it is fair and representative enough to protect them.
“I believe in the UN as an effective global body that should lead the quest for the peace we desire. I am also convinced that for the organisation to bring about world peace, the UN method and approach to dialogue must be reviewed.
“The UN dialogue method must, therefore, change.”

Politics / Northern Christians, Pastors Send Powerful Message To Biafra Agitators [READ] by MrRational1(m): 6:27pm On Aug 01, 2017
Northern Christians under the aegis of Arewa Christians and Indigenous Pastors Association (ACIPA) have cautioned the agitators of Biafra to desist from further acts of provocation.
In a statement signed by its President, Rev Luke Shehu, ACIPA said the Igbo should employ civil democratic norm of lobbying and politics of give and take to achieve their goals rather than threatening the nation with secession.
“The Igbo leaders should refrain from provoking the psyche of Nigerians with the Biafra secession threat,” the association said, advising the agitators to eschew the bitterness of not having produced Nigeria’s president.
“While agreeing that their demand could be legitimate, threatening Nigeria with another secession agenda is unacceptable,” the statement said, urging proponents of Biafra to take counsel from Odumegwu Ojukwu who it quoted as having said, “I don’t think a second one (war) is necessary. We should have learned from the first one, otherwise the dead would have been to no Avail.”
It said Nigeria’s civil war that lasted from 1967 to 1970 was regrettable and better avoided because of the millions of people that died and the valuable properties destroyed.
The group enjoined all Nigerians to pray for quick recovery of President Muhammadu Buhari and asked Nigerians home and abroad to resist religious bigotry.

Politics / We Will Declare Niger Delta Republic On October 1 – Adaka Boro Avengers by MrRational1(m): 6:09pm On Aug 01, 2017
A Niger Delta militant group, Adaka Boro Avengers, ABA, has maintained that its earlier threat to declare Republic of Niger Delta on October 1 remains sacrosanct.
In a statement issued yesterday, spokesperson of the group, Edmos Ayayeibo, said there was no going back because the Nigerian state has “lost its unity.”
The group said, “The October 1 declaration of a republic in the Niger Delta is sacrosanct because Nigeria has lost its unity. To save lives on both sides, the Nigerian government should maintain peace, compose themselves or face total war.
“We the Avengers have always carried out our words. When we said we would crumble the economy, we did it. And now we are asking all northerners and westerners to leave the Niger Delta region for their own good. This is not 2016 and now we have more arsenals, more powerful than the Nigerian government.”
Adaka Boro’s warned oil companies operating in the Niger Delta to vacate the region in their interest.
“We are also using this medium to call on all the multinational corporations to leave the region in their own interests and peace; because their continued stay in the region has not done any good to the people of the Niger Delta.
“Also to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), kindly withdraw your oil survey teams and your technical workers from our communities, while the tension in the region is boiling up.
“Failure to adhere to these warnings, we shall leave no stone unturned. Because all Avengers groups in the region are united now and our new focus is on any multinational corporations and any NNPC infrastructures, especially the pipelines and NNPC filling stations across the country,” ABA said.

Politics / Ex-vice President Atiku Tears Ruling APC Apart, Describes Party As Undemocratic by MrRational1(m): 6:03pm On Aug 01, 2017
- Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria's former vice president, tongue-lashed his party, the All Progressives Congress, and others for lack of internal democracy
.
- Atiku noted that even though democracy had taken root in Nigeria, elements from the military still wield power in the country
.
<!--more-->- The former vice president noted that any party that stifles the freedom of its members cannot provide freedom for the country
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Atiku Abubakar, has described his party as undemocratic in the way its leaders carry out their activities.
.
We learnt that Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president, lamented the alleged refusal of the party to organise statutory meetings for the organs of the party.
The Sun reports the former vice president, who spoke at the second Inter Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) annual conference 2017 on internal democracy, complained about the alleged lack of internal democracy in the APC and other parties.
Atiku said:“The issue of internal democracy in our political parties has been with us for a long time, indeed since the restoration of civilian rule in 1999.
“In long-established democracies those statements would seem trite. But I recognise that our democracy is young, and our parties are also rather young.
“As a result, they are still wrestling with issues of party building, party structures, internal democracy and the nature of the relationship between parties and members, parties and legislatures and parties and government as well as among parties themselves.
“We had a very long period of authoritarian rule in Nigeria, ending in 1999. The legacy of that period is still with us as can be seen in our various governance institutions.
“Indeed even elements of that authoritarian past still wield power and influence in our country as we try to transition from that legacy.
.
“Also the structure of our economy is such that the state remains the most important source of economic opportunity.
“This heightens the struggle for state power and helps to shape the relationship between parties and members, among parties and among the various arms of government.
“It is, therefore, a huge challenge to democratize governance and the political parties in our country.
“But, as the theme of this conference makes clear, internal democracy in our political parties is very important for the parties, their members and for the country.
“The absence of internal democracy in our parties is a major reason our democracy remains fragile and why the quality of leadership that we produce has not matched our expectations and the challenges facing us as a nation.
"It is also one of the reasons it has been very difficult to hold leaders to account. Internal party democracy is important enough that it was one of the areas addressed by the Electoral Reform Committee headed by Justice Mohammed Lawal Uwais many years ago.
“But we know that power wielders hardly voluntarily enlarge the democratic space. That is why I’ve often opined that internal party democracy will only come with genuine electoral reforms in the country.
"Such reforms, broadly along the Justice Uwais Committee Recommendations, which will further strengthen the independence of INEC and ensure that votes count, will encourage parties to field popular candidates in elections.
“And that in turn will encourage parties to allow internal democracy so members have the freedom to choose and express their opinions. Thus the role of godfathers and executive intrusion in the affairs of parties and elections will be diminished.
“In my view, there is a close relationship between democracy within political parties and democracy within the nation. Put simply you cannot give what you don’t have.
“You cannot build democracy on a substructure of dictatorship and intolerance.
“A political party that constricts the freedom of its members cannot really offer freedom to the citizens of the nation. Democracy is not just an idea; is a cultural practice.
“For a number of years now we have had political parties, even governing ones, which hardly hold meetings of their important organs, including those meant for the democratic selection of their leadership, or even constitute institutions prescribed in their constitution.”
Atiku said that was not party building but party bullying.
.
“And it’s certainly not a way to democratise parties and aggregate their members’ opinions, interests and aspirations.
“This means that efforts to deepen Nigeria’s democracy must include efforts at democratising our political parties.
“The institutionalisation of democracy in our internal party processes will help us deepen democracy in Nigeria.
“Leaders are more likely to tolerate opposition from citizens and other parties if they tolerate it within their own party.
“The lack of internal democracy in political parties is one of the reasons for the fraught relationships among parties and their elected representatives and the legislature and the executive.
“The loyalty of some in the legislature and executive lies not with the party but with a godfather who sponsored them, and the godfather may even be in a rival political party.
“Such anomalies will reduce if internal democracy flourishes in our political parties, and by extension the wider society.
“The selection of leaders in a democracy is a serious business because so many other things ride on it. Whenever we get it wrong the nation or a part thereof suffers.
“We must strive to get it right most of the time. And it is the voters who should freely make that determination. I therefore thank the IPAC for organising this conference and for inviting me to chair it.”

Biafra: We will join agitators to fight Nigeria with missiles, chemical weapons – Militants
.
Niger Delta militant group, Adaka Boro Avengers, ABA, has declared that it would join hands with Biafra agitators to fight Nigeria with missiles and chemical weapons.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Edmos Ayayeibo, ABA, called Nigeria “a failed state”.
The separatist group also called on Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, led by Ijaw leader, Edwin Clark, to stay away from all matters of the Niger Delta.
According to ABA, “Why would the Arewa youths and some northerners call for re-arrest of Nnamdi Kanu knowing what the implications would be. That is not possible and the Nigerian government will never dare it again.
.
“The Federal Government does not recognize you people (Ijaw leaders); and we will no longer listen to you. We thank you for your efforts, especially to Papa E. K. Clark, King Alfred Diete-Spiff and Victor Attah.
“This is because we have seen Nigeria as a failed state. We, Niger Deltans respect you people; save your energy; we will need you people in our country.
“To the Federal Government of Nigeria don’t try to fight us, because it is totally a missile and chemical war. We have joined hands with Biafra and other foreigners.”

Sports / Chelsea Need To Sign More Players - Antonio Conte by MrRational1(m): 11:08am On Jul 29, 2017
- Antonio Conte suggests the Blues are still in the market for more players
.
- The Italian feels his side are still miles away from Bayern Munich's level
.
- Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata, Antonio Ruduger and Bakayoko this summer
Antonio Conte says Chelsea are not yet ready to compete for the Champions League until they can sign new players
The Italian said the Stamford Bridge outfit need a sustainable structure to be able to compete in Europe like Bayern Munich.
.
The Blues boss said:“I know we have a lot of road ahead before we can compete to try to win the Champions League.
“We are trying to rebuild a situation and it’s not easy.
“You need a bit of time to create a structure and to build every season — and then to go to fight.
“It is always important to know the reality and then to try and work and try to improve.”
The Blues have spent £129million already this summer on new players but Conte still feels there is a gulf in European class between his side and Bayern Munich.
.
He said:“Bayern Munich are ready to fight to win the Champions League because every season they stay there, and they try to improve the team.
“For them it is easier now because they have a good structure.
“You arrive at the end of the season and sign one or two players to improve your team but you have 17 or 18 players for a good basis.
.
“Then you can pay £80m for one player or £90m for two players and your transfer market is finished.
“When you must rebuild you need to buy players but also create the solid foundation, and then find one or two strong players to improve your quality.”
.
The Blues have already signed Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, Tiemoue Bakayoko from AS Monaco and Anto Rudiger from AS Roma.

Celebrities / Popular Nollywood Actor, Mr Ibu Advises Igbos On How To Achieve Their Country by MrRational1(m): 9:52am On Jul 29, 2017
Veteran Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor, better known as Mr. Ibu, has advised Igbo people on ways Biafra can be achieved without causalities.
Mr. Ibu, who said he is very much interested in the struggle and actualization of the country, warned agitators against staging unnecessary protests and making much noise about it.
.
According to the actor, different groups agitating for the new country should rather do it secretly and also be careful of what they let out in public places.
Speaking in Igbo language in an interview with Ugwunmba TV, Mr. Ibu declared that God is in support of the struggle and will surely grant Igbos their desired country.
He words, “I’m still saying the same thing. Let’s be careful of what we’re saying in public places. There something one should be doing secretly and it’ll work out smoothly. It must not be by noise making.
“It something that should be carried out secretly and at the end the world will see the result. Let’s stop the noise and protests because innocent people are being killed as a result.
“There’re countries that have seceded without making so much noise and protest, there’re also others that protested and were killed in numbers but still made it at last.
.
“The difference is that Igbo people are not so many. Please my people, I’m begging, let’s take it easy. Our struggle is good and genuine but let’s take it easy.
“Let’s take it slowly and make little more secretly. We’ll surely get Biafra. If we get, it’ll be beneficial to all Igbos, but let’s first all come back home and unite with one another.
“Let’s all Igbos be of one mind. It pains me greatly that we’re not in one mind. We’re not united. Let’s be prayerful about it because God Almighty hears our prayers and is without in the struggle.
“We’ll surely get Biafra and then we’ll jubilate but for now let’s pursue our course with calmness.”

Politics / Buhari Is A Liar, He Stole 2.8 Billion – Asari Dokubo by MrRational1(m): 9:34am On Jul 29, 2017
Former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo has stated that President Muhammadu Buhari is a liar, says he stole 2.8 billion.
Dokubo made the statement in reaction to the alleged $90 billion fraud charge brought against former Petroleum Minister, Dieziani Alison-Madueke.
In a video trending on social media, Dokubo described President Muhammadu Buhari and members of his cabinet as liars.
He stressed that if Alison-Madueke actually looted $90 billion at the current exchange rateand has returned it back to the national coffers, there was no need for the federal government to be seeking external borrowings to finance infrastructure development across the nation.
He accused President Buhari of embezzling no less that N30 billion Naira from the oil sector during his time as Petroleum Minister and Chairman of Petroluem ‎Trust Fund (PTF) under the late Sani Abacha administration.
Dokubo also chided Nigerian music sensations Don Jazzy and Davido for condemning Alison-Madueke without first seeking after the truth.
The ex-militant leader said amongst many other things: “Nigeria is a very funny country where people will just wake up and bring up rumour.
“Nigeria is now a country of liars, ruled by liars, and managed by liars.
“How can somebody just wake-up and claim Diezani embezzled $90 billion? Multiple that amount of dollars with the value of one dollar to the Naira and tell me what the sum is.
“How much is the Nigerian budget? If Diezani actually embezzled such an amount of money and has returned the loot, why is the federal government still trying to borrow money for infrastructure development?
“Buhari can lie. He lies like a fish. All the people around him are liars.
“How much did Buhari loot from the NNPC during his time as Petroleum Minister? N2.8 billion.
“How much did he loot from PTF during his time as Chairman of the fund? Okadigbo panel said he embezzled N25billion.
“Those without character are accusing others of lacking character.
“If Diezani really stole what she is accused of stealing, let them prove it against her,
“Then that… that calls himself Don Jazzy will open his mouth… Davido, children will open their mouth. Davido has not talked about his uncle Isiaka Adeleke; Bola Tinubu; Fashola; even Awolowo.
“From where did Awolowo make his fortune?”

Politics / APC Has Succeeded In Dividing Nigeria – Wike Cries Out by MrRational1(m): 1:53am On Jul 29, 2017
Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has claimed that the All Progressives Congress-led government has succeeded in tearing Nigeria apart.
Wike observed that the country needed people who would promote peace through quality leadership.
.
He stated that Nigeria was at the moment paddling through the sea of many troubles.

The governor spoke at the official flag-off of the reconstruction/rehabilitation of Abuloma, Fimie, Ozuboko and Amadi-Ama community roads in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Wike said that Nigerians were deceived into voting for the APC, pointing out that in 2019, no Nigerian will be deceived by the empty promises of the party.

“Nigeria is divided because of the APC leadership style. Wherever you go today in this country, there is one problem or the other. Is that how Nigerians want it? Certainly not. We need people who will promote peace through quality leadership.

“The change they said they are bringing is fake change. No person resident in Rivers State and sees what we are suffering from the APC Federal Government will ever support APC,” he added.
.
The governor, who assured the people of the state that his administration would continue to deliver projects that would improve their living condition, maintained that the reconstruction/rehabilitation of Abuloma, Fimie, Ozuboko and Amadi-Ama community roads would be completed in six months
