I will like to learn how to blog as a business. Where and how can I learn? |
My wish is to create an interactive discussion, feel free to drop your comments and points then we continue... |
3. Danfo business. I guess we all know our Yellow buses here in Lagos. Estimated start up capital N1,000,000- 1,700,000. 4. Similar to the Danfos we have the Inter State commercial buses too. These categories listed above are all very profitable. Other categories also exist. For example: Car hire / Taxi business. This is my "territory ". Basically in this category we have the private cab Service. We also have global players like Uber and Taxify in this segment of the market. These guys introduced technology and creativity in the business. So basically Uber is Taxi business with a mix of technology and creativity. A few points to Note Concerning the transport businesses listed above: A. They all have little or no barriers to entry. B. The are easy to start even with little capital ( Sometime ago I bought a used Okada in Mowe for N45,000 and gave it to a rider on hire purchase). C. There are so many individuals involved. You will be amazed at the number of Danfos in Oshodi and Mushin alone. Also on the Uber and Taxify platform, they have thousands of cars listed. Basically it's open to all for obvious reasons.

As we all know transportation is a very huge industry. And transport is one of the basic needs of man. For some reason or the other we all move daily. In my opinion, movement is equal to transportation. A typical Nigerian MUST move from: The house to the office The office back to the house House to Church, Mosque or Shrine as the case may be. House to visit friends and family. Then from the house to attend an "Owambe" party or social event. Basically human beings move around for various reasons. In Lagos alone I'm sure about 10 million people move around daily from point A to B. The Business of Transportation In transport business we have several categories, now let me break it down. 1. Okada business. The Okada rider is a service provider. His purpose is to make money. Estimated start up capital N50,000- N250,000 2. Keke Nape or Marwa business. This is another level. Estimated start up N250,000-N650,000 |
