fergie001: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has today published the personal details and particulars of Candidates vying for the Office of the President (and Vice President) and the National Assembly simultaneously.
Here is the personal particulars submitted by the Candidiate of the NDC, Peter Obi
Out of all of them only PO and kwankwaso's own was brought to nairaland. This shows the person who gives tinubu a real bloody nose.
platymus: Honestly you are the one really panicking here! Jordan reported there were no casualtyies and Iranian missiles were intercepted. Trump is not furious for short of weapons but authorities stoping him from dealing with Iran the way he intended. On the report of short of weapons. That's just a decoy. The US can't be short of weapons. As at this week more $3.6 billion has been budgeted for more patriot weapons. The US is yet to use much of it as advanced weapons against Iran still using traditional fires treating Iran with a glove in the hands. They may learn the hard way if care is not taken. They are lucky enough this is not Israel. By now military generals, etc. would have received their 72 virgins
This part cracked me up. Unfortunately, they are willing to die for the non existing virgins. What a power of hypnosis?
raslim20: Things are about to get brutal in the Middle East.
US forces bombed six family homes on Qeshm Island.
4 fathers dead. 2 mothers dead. A 3 year old child killed.
2 more children are fighting for their lives as we speak.
IRGC retaliated hard though.
7 US officers and 2 maintenance personnel dead at Muwaffaq Salti Base in Jordan.
Trump is furious.
NBC just released a statement.
Trump's ally's words: The president is enraged. He never thought the Iranians would make it this difficult for us. Dan Caine is panicking over the munitions stockpiles now. He’s warning about a string of strategic defeats coming if this keeps dragging.
Two hours ago, Trump exploded in a meeting with his top national security people.
He’s losing his mind about the limited military options against Iran.
He’s now pushing Hegseth and his troops to strike harder in the next 48 hours.
IRGC is getting ready to dismantle several Gulf countries as we speak.
RandDigital: South Africa has thwarted a bid by Ghana to place xenophobic violence in the country on the agenda for the African Union’s Mid-Year Coordination Meeting in October.
Ghana raised the issue on Wednesday during an AU Executive Council meeting of foreign ministers in Addis Ababa. However, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, pushed back against the proposal. He argued that rather than singling out South Africa, the AU should hold a broader discussion on continental migration patterns.
South Africa has been pushing all along for a broader discussion, not only to include more countries but also to discuss what it calls the push-pull factors — essentially poor political and economic conditions in other countries that drive their people to flee and head for South Africa and other countries.
Daily Maverick was told that the Executive Council had turned down Ghana’s proposal, which means that SA will not be under the spotlight at the mid-year meeting in Alamein, Egypt. Ghana has been the most vociferous critic of anti-immigrant protests and xenophobic attacks in SA. It repatriated several hundred of its citizens from SA, and on 25 July announced the start of the next phase to evacuate about another 1,000.
It is not now clear when the AU discussion on migration will take place or the scope of it. Last week Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama posted on X that he had “secured a commitment from AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf to place the ongoing xenophobic attacks in South Africa on the agenda of the next AU Summit.”
That was taken to refer to the next ordinary summit in Addis Ababa in February 2027. So Ghana’s proposal at the Executive Council on Wednesday for xenophobic violence in South Africa to be discussed at the mid-term meeting came as a surprise. Only a handful of African leaders are scheduled to attend that meeting.
And in any case, SA’s proposal for a broader discussion seems to require a special summit dedicated to the issue of migration on some date yet to be determined. The idea has been around for many years.
Mahama added in his X post, “Bringing the issue before the AU gives South Africa a fair platform to respond and gives us all a chance to find lasting solutions together.”
Ghana plus nigeria. SA has gone a world ahead. Nigeria a world behind. The issue with Ghana is allowing nigeria to support them with nigerian decimated international reputation. When a country is governed by a know drug dealer and Lords.
givedemwotowoto: The incumbent is always on the ballot due to their performance, just like Tinubu is on the ballot in 2027.
The question you ask yourself to know whether a person will win reelection is, those that voted for this leader in the last election, based on his/her performance, do you think they will go back to the polls to vote for him again?
For you to lose election, you must have performed so badly that people who previously voted for you are willing to reject money or gifts to vote you again (factoring in vote-buying in Nigeria).
This is why it’s easy to predict a defeat for Tinubu in 2027.
Outside the SW, people are ready to reject cash to vote Tinubu out of office, and this is fatality for him because over 60% of his votes in 2023 came from the North, and Buhari is no longer there for him.
Tinubu did not win in 2023. He can only deceive himself?
9jatriot: I only said show me proof if you really have it not where you were told to say from your whatsapp group.
Obi in his usual rambling, went to court in 2023 to ask them to disqualify Tinubu based on this same story story, the court told him there was nothing like that.
The court told obi there was nothing like that in nigeria. Technicality manipulation, trying to say that the incident happened in an area where they lack jurisdiction and cannot act on it. Again, the Chicago court did not involve nigeria in the case. So technicalities is all we had and not the real case. If you are sincerely ignorant of this case which I am sure you are not then go into research for facts
9jatriot: Do you have proof of this? A country like US will catch someone with drug-related funds, and they will just smile and say Take small and give us small? Does this make sense to you? The same country that is known to have abducted presidents of nations on drug-related suspicions will now share proceeds with one man just because his name is Tinubu... Think about it and see if you can make sense out of it.
My ripoff is that tinubu went to court to stop release of the reports on this investigation. What was he hiding. Second proof is that it is everywhere even on the internet. Use it for you have it.
During high-level talks held in Abuja recently, International Relations and Cooperation Minister Ronald Lamola raised concerns with the Nigerian government over the alleged installation of an unrecognised "Igbo King" in the Eastern Cape, as well as the alleged involvement of some Nigerian nationals in organised crime and the occupation of hijacked buildings.
Lamola raised the issues during his diplomatic visit to Nigeria, which came amid recent tensions between the two countries, particularly over immigration.
Nigeria has strongly condemned anti-immigrant violence in South Africa, urging authorities to stop xenophobic attacks and protect lawfully resident foreign nationals.
Lamola, serving as Special Envoy, led the South African delegation during talks in Abuja.
Department of International Relations and Cooperation spokesman Chrispin Phiri said Lamola delivered an official message from President Cyril Ramaphosa to Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said Tinubu designated a high-level Nigerian government delegation to engage in structured talks with the South African delegation led by the Special Envoy.
Phiri said the discussions were candid, constructive and forward-looking, focusing on restoring mutual goodwill and strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
Lamola outlined three specific areas of concern that have heightened recent tensions between South Africa and Nigeria.
These included the purported installation of an unrecognised traditional ruler, titled an "Igbo King", in the Eastern Cape in March 2026, which caused widespread public concern across South Africa.
In mid-March, videos and photos showing a group of people dressed in traditional Igbo attire appointing Chief Solomon Ogbonna Eziko as the 'Igwe Ndigbo' (Igbo king) of KuGompo went viral on social media.
KuGompo was later hit by violent unrest following protests against the alleged installation of the Nigerian king.
However, both South African and Nigerian authorities have confirmed that the king is not a recognised sovereign leader.
"Minister Lamola emphasised that this occurred while South Africa is actively consolidating the constitutional role of traditional leadership in a post-apartheid society."
Lamola also raised concerns about the involvement of certain foreign nationals, including Nigerian citizens, in organised crime, illicit drug trafficking and financial fraud.
"The Special Envoy noted that as of July 7, 2026, more than 500 Nigerian nationals had been processed through the South African criminal justice system for various offences, highlighting the need for enhanced cross-border security cooperation."
Lamola also addressed instances in which law enforcement officers faced violent resistance or obstruction during criminal investigations.
Specific concern was raised over hijacked residential and commercial properties in urban centres such as Hillbrow in Johannesburg and Sunnyside in Pretoria, where unlawful enclaves have compromised public safety for local residents and foreign nationals alike.
NEGATIVE PERCEPTIONS OF NIGERIANS
"Regrettably, these incidents have fueled negative perceptions surrounding Nigerian nationals living in South Africa over the years."
"Addressing these challenges firmly, fairly, and within the bounds of the law is vital for the well-being of both our nations," said Lamola.
According to Phiri, both delegations also reviewed feedback regarding the processing and arrest of more than 500 Nigerian nationals in South Africa.
“Minister Lamola clarified that these law enforcement measures are evidence-based, targeting individual criminal conduct rather than profiling the broader, law-abiding Nigerian diaspora."
Phiri said the Nigerian delegation acknowledged the need to hold lawbreakers accountable while emphasising the importance of guaranteeing constitutional due process, fair trial standards and humane treatment for all detainees.
Both delegations also agreed on the urgent need to de-escalate inflammatory rhetoric in public discourse and prevent hostile actions.
Phiri said Lamola emphasised that the South African government unequivocally condemns all forms of xenophobia, racism, discrimination and related intolerance.
"While crime and lawlessness will be met with the full force of the law, public frustration or criminal activity can never be used to justify vigilante violence, intimidation, or attacks against foreign nationals."
“Law enforcement remains the exclusive prerogative of the state," Lamola said.
"While South Africa will not tolerate criminal activity by any individual regardless of nationality, we equally will not permit vigilante action or xenophobic violence against foreign nationals residing in our country. To this end arrests have taken place and relevant investigations are still underway."
Lamola reiterated that shared migration and public safety challenges are best resolved through formal diplomatic channels, institutional security partnerships and strict adherence to constitutional rights.
"The two governments reaffirmed that bilateral diplomacy and Pan-African solidarity remain the essential frameworks to ensure peaceful coexistence, safeguard human rights, and deepen historical ties between South Africa and Nigeria."
The same envoy reportedly snubbed by tinubu. Lol. Tinubus govt has zero value for libes of citizens and so no one else may value them too except those who naturally have value on humanity.
9jatriot: He may have been successful in other areas but was clearly unsuccessful in running his supermarket. Do you want to entrust a whole nation to such a person. The state that once did that had nothing but insults for him, I think we should listen to them when they were saying the truth.
Do you guys even think over what you want to post online before going ahead to do so? Like this is really everything bereft of coherence.
9jatriot: The same man dash US government $460K as far back as 1993 without shaking, na em you de ask where he get money?
You are irredeemable. A man who was caught with drug proceeds and was force to empty it into govt treasury is your role model. Little wonder una dey the way una dey.
Says the former trade union national leader. These people thougth that Nigerians are daft. I only pray PO and his party would do everything to prevent mi dless rigging. We will do our at the polling units but once it gets to the state level we can't do anything again.
I am sure that with free and faire elscrion PO will win with more than 60% of total vote cast on election day.
wellmax: President Tinubu has shown commendable courage by putting the safety and dignity of Nigerians above diplomatic protocol. His refusal to grant an audience sends a clear message that the lives of Nigerian citizens cannot be treated lightly.
It is a firm reminder that meaningful action and accountability must come before diplomatic gestures. This bold stance reflects leadership that demands respect and justice for Nigerians everywhere.
By just SNUBBING the envoy? I would have arrested them instantly for crime against humanity. Which one is snubbing? On top citizens lives? And they came and went free? I would have matched madness with madness if were to take decisions. The only thing I won't do would be killing them but they will be in jail, nomatter how highly placed they are in SA.
cremedelacreme: Nice one by Tinubu. No be only them sabi madness.
What action has tinubu taken against South Africa apart from JUST SNUBBING, an act carried out after a minister insisted on it. He snubs while his citizens die in SA. South Africa cannot try that madness with me as the president without severe consequences, one that generations won't forget. Tinubu is not anything good. Nigerians lives matter
Axis313: Killing of babies is also fighting terrorism abi?
What about those killed unprovoked by these terrorist right inside Israeli soil on 7th October?
No one is supporting evil but when terrorist are killing people and they retaliate and you choose to call out only the one defending himself it amounts to deafening injustice. That I hate.
Ezewuzie01: Birthday wish that didn't come from his stomach. Peter Obi and eye service. Secretly envious of Soludo because Soludo has surpassed him in every indices of development in Anambra. Peter Obi was a total failure as governor.
Soludo will need 40years to match PO legacy. I have a friend that is working for soludo and he talks trash like you tells the truth whenever he is sober.
Ofunaofu: Did Tinubu, Wike, Soludo, Umahi Take Out Student Loans To Send Children To Universities In UK—Sowore
AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused Nigeria's political elite of neglecting public universities while ensuring that their children receive education from top institutions abroad.
In a post shared on his official X account on Monday, 27 July 2026, Sowore claimed that many former and current public officials, including governors, ministers and lawmakers, failed to use their positions to strengthen Nigeria's higher education system.
FSBoperator: If I recall, it was Gowon that seized the assets of the Catholic church in response to the Vatican supporting Biafra despite all the evil done by Biafrans on minority people.
The move to nationalise those assets like schools was to weaken the Catholic church's strong grip on Ibo populace.
To not make it obvious that he was targeting the Catholic church, Gowon whom himself is a Christian of the Anglican faith, also extended the nationalization beyond the Catholic church.
Subsequent military regimes will then push the responsibility of managing these schools to state govts.
With the return to democracy, most states in the South with Lagos leading , returned these assets back to the respective churches.
Giringori on the other hand, returned these churches so as to reduce the state responsibility in managing them and after offloading them , he refused to invest in existing public schools or to expand on them.
But the greatest fraud was how Giringori on his last few months in office began giving away Anambra public money to only Catholic schools in what cemented his parochial sectarian bigotry and a move most likely to move un budgeted state funds to be laundered through the Catholic diocese in Anambra.
Hundreds of millions were fretted away in the name of giveaway solely to the Catholic diocese in Anambra while other faith based institutions received nada.
Sometimes think about what people may think of you and your personal value. 30k is too small for one rubbish himself in a public space.
malali: Buhari Paid subsidy for oil and forex Buhari had a global Covid crisis Buhari was selling crude oil at 20$-30$ per barrel And yet he didnt borrow in 8 years what Tinubu has borrowed in 3 years.
Tinubu is not paying oil subsidy Tinubu is not paying forex subsidy Tinubu has no Global crisis (Covid) Tinubu Is selling oil at 80$-90$ per barrel
But Tinubu has already borrowed more than Buhari borrowed in 8 years and this is only year 3 for Tinubu.
Tinubu has borrowed more tha all his predecessors combined.
UncleAyo: Please, how many people have been able to register a business name with SMEDAN as promised by the FG to register 250,000 new businesses for free.
I need a testimony of just one or two person and with evidence.
There are many ways of syphoning money and settling errand boys. You just saw one of them.
Tinubus govt is a collosal failure. His economic reforms are economic emasculation of the masses but emancipation of the political class.
Why was fuel subsidy removed? So that the govt would have more money. Then the right question is more money for what? Where are the more money? Who and what uses the money so accrued? The answers may be sitting to supine in bank account of the cronies and the principal of this dubious and fraudulent govt. No single meaning for the average nigeria.
With the removal of subsidy one would have thought by now that all major federal roads in nigeria would have been completed. But guess what? They award white elephant projects like coast highway at a super unreasonable price per kilometer. And the major problem is not even the I'll thought road project but the company handling the contract. So simply put, the monies are being transfered through a company to another place not so publicly mentioned, surely the private pockets of the same principal and cronies of the fraudulent govt.
Now they take pictures one kilometer of any road and share them on the internet in a desperate attempt to claim non existing results.
If I continue to highlight the evils of this govt, the one I remembered impropto the whole of today won't be enough to write them.
Soludo and Wife Join Son Ozonna's Dance Challenge Amid Relationship Rumours
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and his wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo, have joined their son, Ozonna Soludo, in a dance challenge to his latest song, sparking reactions across social media.
Ozonna shared the heartwarming video on TikTok, showing himself dancing alongside his parents as they celebrated his music. In the caption, he described the moment as the Governor and First Lady of Anambra joining him to dance to his song, which he called the "international national anthem."
The video quickly attracted attention, with many social media users praising the family moment, while others linked it to previous online conversations about Ozonna and his father.
Ozonna, who has gained attention for his music, fashion, lifestyle and creative content, has often sparked reactions among Nigerians with his unique personality and public appearances. His activities have sometimes fuelled discussions about his relationship with his father, particularly following online claims that there was tension between them.
However, there has been no confirmed evidence that Governor Soludo and his son have a strained relationship. If anything, the latest video appears to paint a different picture, showing the governor and his wife publicly supporting their son's creative journey.
The family dance challenge has since generated widespread reactions, with many Nigerians describing it as a display of the strong bond between a father, mother and son, despite the speculation that has surrounded Ozonna online.
The video also comes shortly after Governor Soludo and his wife travelled to the United Kingdom to celebrate the graduation of their daughter, Oduko Soludo, who earned a First Class Honours degree in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham. The back-to-back family moments have given the public a rare glimpse into the governor's private life, portraying him not only as a political leader but also as a supportive husband and father.
I have two simple questions: 1. Why was Ozonna not in the graduation picture of his sister? Was that a deliberate act of exclusion and this a deliberate act of damage control? 2. Why did soludo attend his daughters graduation and denies Anambra children their own graduation, claiming their achievement were too low for a graduation?
