Ezemistic: Pardon me everyone (Nairalanders) in the house. To GOD be the Glory, I had my daughter safely in ElPaso Texas, It was fun, because I had it naturally after CS in my first pregnancy. My doctor in Naija told me is not possible, but lo and behold GOD made it possible in Elpaso. My daughter US passport & birth certificate was delivered to my apartment this week. I love you all Awww...congrats on your beautiful princess @ Ezemistic...God will watch over her and your family. Thank God for a safe VBAC...Cheers |

mrsmo: Registered last week Friday. Paid $325 for initial visit, scan and something else. Can't remember now. But is different from his fees. It's after the scan and talking with him that someon will discuss the bill with you. So you pay that fee in addition to v-fees or cs-fees. @mrsmo thanks for your response..really appreciate. one more thing, pls did you get a personalized letter from Dr Fagbohun before travelling? Or is it just the cost breakdown you used at the embassy for ur interview as "letter from doctor" just in case I am asked if I have a doctor. Thanks..awaiting your reply |

belfy: For Dr Fagbohun, you pay 150dollars registration fee,150d for ultra sound for single preg,300d for twins.the initial 300d is not discounted and you pay cash.so his bill is 300+ 1920 (discounted fee if you pay by second visit).I hope this helps @belfy...thanks for your response..it really does help. |

Shawbabe: Hello everyone,
I have read ALL 93 pages of this thread and want to say thanks to everyone who shared their experience in some sort of way! U guys are outstanding, made my research easy pezy!!
All I want to as is are there any April 2015 mums in the house?? I am 6 weeks gone, and wanted to make sure they'll be Nigerians at either MIHS or El Paso during that period (haven't decided which one I'm choosing. Have to lay out presentation and powerpoint of the two for the hubby first LOL).
I want to travel with my mum first and then I want my husband to join us 1st of April because I refuse to have this child or children (might be twins alone! Since I didn't MAKE them alone). Sides it's my first pregnancy and I've always wanted to experience giving birth with my hubs holding my hand for moral support! Anyway I digress, but if any of you ladies are due that period and will be in Phoenix or El Paso, pls just indicate.
Also I hope the accommodations close to these hospitals have Internet access and Tv coz I don't wanna be bored outta my mind! Still want to catch my shows online and skype with the hubby!
Than ks people! Hi shawbabe..have u decided if you are using El Paso? I'm coming to El Paso by God's grace in April..let's hook up if possible to talk more. U can send me an email. |

interview was slated for 7.30am at Abuja. Got through all the check in processes and finally got to sit. Only one young white lady was interviewing initially bt was later joined by a young friendly white guy. Was praying to meet d guy cos the lady approved one person and denied 2peeps before me(tho I think she had reason to). I was the 4th person she interviewed. Went with my MIL.
VO: Goodmorning and how are you today? We: very well, thank you. Goodmorning. VO: she looks at screen- 'So you're going to have a baby?' Me: BABIES, actually (with emphasis on the ies)- make she hear am well VO: OH WOW. pass me ur doctor's correspondence and bank statements. I did that, including my dad's and MIL's statement and a letter from my dad. But ontop of the statements, I put my very bold/eye-catching budget spreadsheet (God bless the person cost? (she scans through the spreadsheet meticulously and makes sure the items correspond to what Dr. fagbohun has in his letter VO: what city are you going to? VO: pick up your visas on Thursday
In all I just thank God cos though I prepared well(thanks to phema's checklist and burden of proof), all that could have come to nothing if God didn't favour me/approve. Be confident, pray seriously and hope for the best. @forevermine..Congrats on ur success at the embassy..God be praised, please I sent you an email..could you please check and reply? I have a few questions for you.pls help a sister.i appreciate your response
Thanks |

damsell: Hi iyawotobe it's only been a week since I had my baby so I only want to get on the county website today to check if his bc is ready or not, it as well as the SSN was filed for at the hospital the day after I put to bed and I was officially told it takes 6-8wreks but from other pple's experiences, the bc should be out in less. So I can only give you that much info about the documentation process but nevertheless, I'm expecting to smooth sail through it as I have garnered the step by step process of what comes after what from previous posts on the forum and other moms I met at Intown suites. Talking bout Intown suites, the accommodation is ok considering the circumstances. I'm here with my mum and hubby just came to join us after I had baby and do far, so good I guess. It's generally a safe living place and really quiet and apart from some guests with really serious smoking habits, I think it's an ok place.plus there are always lots of other NAija mums n dads around so company is almost never in lack. Some of the challenges I have personally encountered will be the transportation system. Luckily there are lots of stores around Intown like Walmart, Burlington, Ross, Payless and food places as well within walking distance but if you have to go to other stores and places in town, it's gotta be a cab and the meter rates are usually not smiling. Good thing the hospital is also close by but when it comes to processing baby's documents, it's mostly downtown which is quite a distance from Intown.
I hear ramada suites are nicer but I chose Intown cos its cheaper than ramada. Hope I've been able to answer all ur questions.m hello damsell..congrats on your baby..i sent you a message before..i dont know if you saw it. .pls and please could you give me your personal email address? i have a few questions to as you please. please help a sis... i'm new here and wish to use El Paso for my baby's delivery awaiting your response..thank you |

uchetobi: I had a girl so no circumcision but be careful with that, if you can get a Naija dr or a Jewish dr to do it better so you dint repeat it in Nigeria.
I paid fagbohoun 1920 then 300 additional for first visit and ultrasound
I paid oakbend 2150, I dint make any arrangement with pediatrician or anesthesiologist, pathology . Fagbohoun has already (confirm with him), I showed up at oakbend for the first time when I was in labor and yet already had all my details.
anesthesiologist was 850 pathology can't remember but less than 200 for my baby and me, pediatrician (nic/) was 606, it would have been 380 of my baby dint go to nicu for jaundice Hello uchetobi...please how do i send you a pm here on Nairaland..i'm new here and ii have a few questions to ask you. thanks |
