I've always wanted Jose to replace SAF from day one. Always felt he was the perfect person to shoulder the pressure. At the same time, Inwasnt under any illusion abiut Jose. He would keep us big and competitive but I also expect him to leave behind carnage. He wont have Giggs on the bench with him so just forget about that and truly why would he? If Giggs wants the job let him go and earn it.
On LvG, I really wanted him to win. Always liked LvG from the ajax days so when he came to us, I was so happy. Its not working well though and he can have no complaints about leaving this summer. If Mourinho replaces him fine, For sure it would be a wild ride, I dont subscribe to Potchettino, Giggs. Only other person I would have loved would be Laurent Blanc but I doubt he's available. Good experience winning, managed big players and big egos, young enough to still be hungry and ex man utd player who would command respect from all. |

Decent game between 2 mid table sides. The quality showed both teams are no better than midtable.
I wont mention Memphis, just no point.
LvG should have made the Mata/Herrera sub atleast 15 mins before. Mata became useless when Chelsea had us pinned back for the last 20mins. BJ, did well. Willian had him on toast once or twice in the first half but he was very composed considering. I wont blame him for the goal as that ball was right through the middle. The defenders should have never let it through. Blind in particular continues to show that he's not a central defender. As good a player as he is, he's just not a central defender. Thank God for DDG, the only genuine world class player on that pitch.
On to the next one. |

codedguy1: Even though Morgan has also not exactly covered himself in glorious displays I preffer him to Fellaini.
Why we are even comparing them is because of the impressive showing of Fellaini in our last game. I only pray he replicates that form again.
Normally, a carrick/Fellaini pivot get as e be. Fellaini was not even impressive for me. His use of the ball is so bad or average at best but I think the height outlet is why he's in the team right now over Morgan. |

SHAIBULIAR: we won the match by 3 goals to nil. Maybe Giggs presence on the field contributes to our problems But Giggs hasnt been on the field in over 2 years. Or do you mean on the bench? In that case, he has been on the bench when we've had other big victories. Either way a very weird post. |

SailorXY: Are we supposed to mourn Pep to Man City or what exactly?
From recent interviews LvG will see out his contract perhaps, which means there should be a better succession plan by summer 2017. What makes you think we'll have a succession plan in place by then? You really have faith in the owners and people running the club? |

SailorXY: I don't think Woodward is under any threat whatsoever. His role is clearly defined in the club. He's got no business with the day to day running of the playing staff & has absolutely no tussle with the managers so far. He had improved in his negotiating skills, bringing in players requested by the manager. The club still prosper financially as well. He's hot his angle well covered, what more is he supposed to do?
He's sitting there as the head perhaps inexperienced in actual pitch-related activities, but there are a couple of ex-internationals & managers also involved in choosing team managers & overall footballing decisions. Nobody can blame Ed for LvG's underachievement. He has given his full co-operation so far. I think we both disagree on this point. Ed can share the blame in his failure to land players in Moyes era. Also, LvG was his man. He took LvG to the board and said this is the man. He has also overseen unparalleled expenditure in 2.5 years which has left us with a broken squad. Surely he must take some blame for that too? The Glazers handed him to the keys to the club and said he should manage things and this is where we are now. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 7:37pm On Jan 25, 2016 |
I think the main reason the trigger hasnt been pulled on LvG is Woodward. I think Woody's position is also under threat because he also has a lot to answer for. Transfer and recruitment of the coach who has failed and has to be sacked must also reflect very badly on Woodward. So if LvG is sacked, I imagine Woodward would be atleast moved away from the Chief Exec postion to a different role probably to the commercial side since he's still very important in that role of helping the club make ridiculous amounts of money.
Some journos think they are keeping LvG on as they think top 4 isnt yet out of reach and would rather wait till the summer to make a change. Giggs is an issue, I dont think they know how to handle him because surely he is part of the regime that is failing. Can they trust him with the reins even till the summer? Gill coming out to say Giggs should go and get experience away from the club as a number 1 is very telling.
To me, It seems the Board definitely do NOT want Mourinho as he is an obvious no brainer to replace LvG. Problem is, if they dont go for Mourinho, Pep is by all account agreed City ( Just not signed till either Bayern or City are out of CL) Who else is really available to achieve what is expected? |

He played like Memphis today. it is all expected though, Only so much we can expect from Martial this season and for me he has surpassed my expectations despite been poor today and mostly playing from wide positions since he's arrived. How many 19/20 yr olds show consistently good decisions in their first season? |
