Good to see Memphis play a bit better, still was a little wasteful but much improved from him. lingard and those 2 chances he had nearly killed me. He needs to learn to be more lethal with the chances he gets.

The injuries were the biggest issue today it disrupted our control on the game. Just hope they weren't too serious.

With him, we may have ended up with players like big Duncan Fergie or Jan Koller, Lee Cattermole, Distin and Titus Bramble in UTD shirt. We may have been playing "crazy don" style footie, but at the end of the day, you let a manager run his ship the way he knows how to. Isn't that what we are allowing LVG do now!?

For the record, he had a decent first season with Sociedad... Actually took them up from relegation to midtable. How convenient that y'all didn't remember that!

I like Moyes, but he never ran a ship before, he captained a small sail boat so how do you let him bring his own team/style to run a cruise liner when he's never ran one before in his own image?

Anybody else see that clip of Rooney slapping WWE Superstar Wade Barrett on Monday Night Raw? That was epic. It was of course scripted but i couldn't help but think what if Barrett retaliated. I bet Coogar and many others on this thread would have loved to see Wazza power-bombed. A few broken bones and some months on the sidelines would just be okay by them .Well that will just have to wait. .

the frustration is - with the amount of money spent, he could have completed building a title winning team last summer.

we have the best defence in the country, the midfield is very decent but our attack is toothless. with 1 or 2 more signings last transfer window, we should be on top of the table now.

I think the di Maria situation killed the team in attack. In theory, rvp, Falcao and di Maria last season should have meant goals galore. That set the whole attack back as we didn't replace them. Just the right attacker in January and a little luck with injuries and we could still have a great season.

Meanwhile, Neymar already submitting his name for 2016 Ballon dor.

Definitely a lot of positives to take from LvG's United. Obviously, plenty of room for improvement. But I'm convinced if we improve the attack with the right signing we can definitely win the title this season. There's no one looking amazing for the league so it's definitely not beyond us. LvG has won titles everywhere he's been so he knows what it takes.

The main difference i saw in Rooney is that he looked a bit more threatnening, but apart from the goal he was average at the very best. It seems like he lost possession easily and misplaced passes quite a bit. He got the goal though so not complaining. Hopefully, its the start of some goalscoring form for him.
Attacking was decent andslightly better than recently. Lingard made a huge difference, martial had a poor game which i guess was to be expected.
Still not impressed with our quality in the final 3rd. Mata was surprisingly very poor. Badly need a fix this winter window.

Possibly 4-4-2? Seems he just had to shake up the team a little bit. Too many matches coming up.

In defence of LvG.

I’m going to defend LvG here. Please read and feel free to agree or disagree. These are my feelings towards the current situation at Man Utd. I would appreciate it if we don’t resort to any abuse.

My immediate feeling towards watching the team is that the attack is broken. Kind of like when a car’s front tires are completely flat.

I think overall we have a solid team. LvG has addressed most of the weaknesses in defence and midfield that were our biggest issues since he joined the team. Particularly the trauma under the guy who’s name we shall not utter!

I understand people are not happy with the possession based style but its pretty obvious its not only by instruction that the team isn’t creating more chances or having more attempts at goal.

I’m not going to deny, I’ve always liked LvG so I might be a bit biased, I’ve been a huge fan since his Ajax days and looking at his teams, career and track record he doesn’t play a boring style of football. it’s pretty obvious he hasn’t been able to fix the attack like he would want right now, which admittedly is his own fault but I do believe he is trying.

The possession style would work far better if we had a quicker front 3, or Martial + 2 quicker attackers and I think that was obvious in what LvG was trying to do this summer by signing Martial and looking at Pedro, Sadio Mane. Etc.

We had some fantastic attacking performances last season where you could see what he wanted us to play, like at Home to Spurs and City for example. Obviously those performances were few a far between.

I don’t want to point fingers at Rooney ( although, we all know he is finished at the highest level) or Mata, a number 10 that has never been pacey or strong on the ball but he’s been pretty effective with goals and assists despite playing out of position.
Memphis has also been a major issue as he was meant to offer the quick transition from the middle to the attack so we can get more chances with our position but he has been pretty awful since he joined. I actually think we have been playing with atleast one man light in every single game this season when Memphis or Rooney is on the pitch. So while it may be annoying seeing the play passing and passing and holding onto possession seemingly without any aim, it’s mainly because the attack is broken.

The summer recruitment was going pretty until we replaced Adnan, Di Maria, Falcao, Nani and Hernandez, Van Persie, That is 6 attacking players with just 2 attacking players in Memphis and Martial. That’s the first thing I would totally blame LvG for. Apart from that Darmian is a good player which I’m happy with and Schweinsteiger/Schneiderlin are also 2 very good players.

I hope for atleast one attacking player in the Winter transfer window. Any quick attacking player would do.

I also hope he never makes the mistake in the Arsenal game ever again. Carrick and Bastian are essentially one player for us. It should always be Morgan + Carrick or Bastian and Never those 2 together. The premier league is too fast to have 2 over 30 midfielders who are better at passing than anything else.

Anyways, without going into specifics, I agree and understand the buck stops with the manager so he has to take any blame. I am willing to give him a chance to fix the issues with the squad, mainly the attack in January and I truly believe we can still fight for trophies this season and maybe even win one. He’s obviously a great manager. As we can see all great managers go through tough times, They were times under Fergie when we were all unhappy here despite winning regularly.

I still support him and I truly believe he can still bring us success, I know that I’m in the minority.

So that’s my 2 cents! Fire away!

Another poor performance with an ok result. I think when LvG isnt having a brainfart. We're a solid team. Defence and midfield is good. Only issue with Attack which is pretty much non exitent. We really need atleast one attacker in january desperately.

I hope the Depay fans, sorry I mean the chelsea fans are over here watching Depay. No need to worry about Chelsea at all, please keep telling us about Depay.
