I remember reading Roberts Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" where he presented the typical American society in the 1950s. Go to school, get good grades, get a good job, get a good life. He pointed out that the educational system did not teach them how to make money. As a result most Americans led a "rat race" kind of life.

Coming back to nigeria
In 2015, we still hear Go to school, get good grades, get good jobs and get a good life. I went to school, got good grades, but no good jobs yet.. Where are the oyel and gash jobs for lord's sake? Am tired mehn!!

Hahaha. I read that book too. In Nigeria, Education and good grades are not feasible enough to get you a good life. I have seen an MSc holder braving the cold as a motorcyclist (okada). Of course, there are jobs, but most graduates are non-employable, being knowledgeable only on what they were taught in Higher Institutions. Employees on the other hand either set unrealistically high standards with low pay, don't know a dime of what they really want or more commonly, are swimming in the Niger and Benue of favoritism and Nepotism.

Believe me bro, I didn't plan going down without a fight. Tried everything in the book. A recovery software would recover files that were deleted or were once there. In my case, the drive is not even accessible. Travelled from stackoverflow to bytes and every other forum out there, yet zilch. Am crying myself a river.

Am mourning!!! My 1TB external hard disk of life just crashed. It contained over 150k worth of resources i had been gathering over the years. All my tutorials, my files, my seminars, the backup of my backups!!! OH LORD! Since external storage devices are failing constantly, where do u get to backup the backup of your backups? Apple icloud? Microsoft Azure? OH NOO!!! I am officially done for. I dont know how else to shed tears. OH LORD. *weeping*

Some Human resource peeps are really funny. I was called up for an interview today and i rushed there, at the thought of its better prospects than my present job. After breezing through my CV, nodding and muttering "impressive", she looked up at me. "You are very qualified.....". I was licking my lips already. "You passed out of service last year ryt?", she continued. "Do you have 5years+ experience working with...?". I laughed.

Im seeing 5 years experience and the sorts. I guess PushCV can do nothing about it. The companies need experience and that's what they would advertise. I was expecting 1-2 years experience and even Internships. I guess we'd wait.

I think 'Overqualified' is an Euphemism, either for 'Underqualified' or 'We just dont want you'. Folks are just trying to be nice.

Tried contacting push cv. But no response from them. The so called interview is slated for wed, 13th. Wat do I do guys? Am just so disappointed at push cv

Oh Lord! This is disheartening. Have pushcv allowed scammers to slip through the net and unleash their menace on the unsuspecting labor market populace? Highly Disturbing! After the gruesome tests with time spent? Are the 1% successful populace not entitled to quintessential treatment from pushcv? Just immediately after Caucasian eulogized them without blemish, their oily flaws have begun to float on water. KKstancy, attempt to call this sorcery to their notice and be charitable enough to reiterate here, their message to you. All ye '4 star generals', thread carefully, for there still exists prowling charlatans, ever ready to fleece the gullible. If the attempted scam was truly from the a disguised company on pushcv, consider yourselves cautioned. I hereby submit.

Im having a queer feeling that the pushcv is keeping a record of 'unsuccessful' interviews associated to each applicant and it is being attached to the respective accounts, for the consumption of potential recruiters. I have thus decided to bid my time and take only interviews i feel are related to my discipline. My accounting friend went to delve into Spy Police interview and was subsequently declined. What do y'all think?

I believe such questions are personal. By personal, I don't mean private but subjective. Some people here already have jobs but eyeing their dream jobs with expectedly higher pay (when compared to the current one). You don't expect them to think alike with someone that's been job hunting for months or years.

Yes. Employers will ideally register on the site and after confirmation & approval, they get to select the category of employees they want.

Their selection will be based on your selected specialization and skills (remember those 5 skills you selected during stage 2?)

All these employers and their reluctance. To even send you a regret email if you didnt make their list is hard for them, talk more of taking the a time out to sign up, and review CVs. Lazy ass employees. I really doubt. Really.
