You want to pick on your most consistent player all season to make Zubi feel like his crime is not a big deal?? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Carry on.
Zubi fans ehn. I fear you guys.
For context, our erratic manager removed him las las.
As for Arteta, the fact that this nonsense occurs every April since he arrived this club means the entire blame lies with him. I know some nonsense dead weight exists but that should even make him demand more players. Especially the January window. Man is averse to this window. It makes no sense!! Plus sending Nwaneri out.
Rice has been good for us so far but cherry-picking on Zubi only for bad performances today is pure Agenda to me, Only Viktor can raise his head today... For context Zubi is Arsenal's most nominated player for both EA EPL and Club Player of the Month awards...
That is recognition and a statement of Fact...
We played badly today even Gabi and Saliba were doing "Erekere" most especially in the 2nd half...
iamoyindamola: See kompany that started the same coaching job See attack na very flawless But everything about this man is just too rigid to create chance is war This man started coaching before kompany o
The attack you mean Flawed, even the defence ; Bournemouth should have scored earlier with Raya, Saliba and Gabi doing erekere at the back multiple times...
It's operation avoid Social Media at all cost for me this coming week...
iamoyindamola: I don't want to believe we will bottle this league sha but after this season he should humbly resign, he should leave on a high Enough is fvcking enough he should go to city, Barca or Madrid that want him The favour he gave us is enough he deserve better
Am not sure it even him (Arteta) these days, it's like the team itself is cursed...
Imagine this Sorry-State City side at rebuilding state winning Treble from our grasp?
daveP: Zubi fans are waiting for a terrible KO game before they accept the obvious. This is jot even a top 6 team but Rice, MLS and now Eze are falling to do his job. Smh
Gyokores na fuu for that yellow
Did you see how Rice messed up a simple 20 yards pass which would have been a promising attack to Downman? Oh he is not Zubi 🤣🤣🤣🤣....
Roland17: Right now, Zubi doesn't play as a DM in our system. Whenever we have possession, Zubi pushes higher and occupies the attacking zones Rice previously occupied, particularly last season. It is the reason he is also scoring a lot of goals. Without possession, Rice is sitting and rotates around Zubi's triangle whenever we don't have the ball. Zubi is extremely jittery with the ball under pressure, he struggles with making good decisions and prefers to keep things simple.
Rice being odds favorite for the PFA has nothing to do with Zubi, if anything it shows how much of Zubi's deficiency Rice covers. Rice has shown tremendous progress since he joined Arsenal and he is such a versatile player. Have you watched our positioning in the final 3rds of our attack? Right now, Rice is central to Arteta's tactics. After last season, we all agreed we needed to see Rice in those attacking zones more but that hasn't been the case this season because we have to accomodate Zubi. Zubi can't play the lone 6.
When we got Zubi, I thought we were getting a Deep-Lying (DLP) midfielder who positions at the 6 and helps us build from the back but that hasn't been the case. Zubi can't even receive the ball from the Raya to help us build the attack. Rather, we see players like Odegaard/ Eze come deep to build. In the absence of these players, you will notice Raya uses the width of the backline to restart possession because Zubi isn't reliable. We have seen him lose possession over and over again, some have cost us goals and nearly did again yesterday. My expectation was a player who can be incisive with his passing but we are seeing more lateral, back and safe passes from him.
It's just an agenda, the person that play safe is purportedly leading the team in line& breaking passes and has the team long ball efficiency while at same has more interceptions and second ball win rate (that dwarfs even Rice's even while he is not the DM in your words) all thanks to Rice covering his "Deficiency"? 🤣🤣...
This is the Official PL version of what you wrote ( of Zubi average positioning)... Please watch
daveP: Lol. With Partey, Rice was doing great with Chances created and his Balon d'Or ranking proved that too. You can fly with any other levels but not this "Zubi made Rice a better player" one abeg. It's really Hilarious. We all can see how terrible Zubi is at his job versus big clubs and how it gives Rice EXTRA duties at the back.
Zubi gives the panic jibe when we play top 6.
His duty is he made Rice better but every time he's watched, he's caught ball watching for up to 10 goals from opponents, aside the erroneous passes?
Okay
Then please show me Rice chances created during Partey time compared to now ( I mean the numbers)...
You guys want Zubi to shoulder the responsibility alone when others including Rice, Eze and Saka failed to showed up like against City, United, Forests and Liverpool games...
The play safe agenda has been squashed with the earlier BBC link which shows he plays more line breaking passes than even Rice...
daveP: I tell you. There's nobody that missed Jorg and Partey like Rice right now. Those two imo offered more to his overall fluid multitasking abilities than Zubi. He's now cautious cos e dey fear for zubi.
I laughed when I see people called out Zubi, I remember Rodri faced the same when he came in vis-a-vis Toure... Even with those 2 you mentioned Rice has never had the numbers he is having now with Zubi, 2nd only behind Bruno in chances created in EPL despite Zubi allegedly limiting him 🤣🤣🤣🤣, that he (Rice) is the odd favourite now for PFA Award and 4th in Balloon d'Or power ranking...
When it's comes to his (Zubi) job as a DM, he's leading the League in Interceptions and second ball, he even has more successful long passes than all our midfielders combined despite allegedly playing safe 🤣🤣🤣...
His tactical knowledge is acknowledged and captured better in this link...
Illusioneffect: honestly! the only movie and show I am definitely watching and anticipating for is less than 10 - Dune Part 3, Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Disclosure Day, The Harry Potter series, Spiderman BND, House of the Dragon, finish
Are you not hyped for Dark Matter 2, From 4 and The Punisher: One Last Kill?..
Simon Williams and Trevor Slattery will return for Marvel Television's #WonderMan Season 2, co-created by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, coming to Disney+.
Our 2nd half performance needs to improve going forward, same thing happens Vs Liverpool, Forest, Wolves, Bayer ( 1st leg) etc. that we failed to showed up backing off opponents: surrendering possession seemly uninterested in general play...
This his overtly cautious approach won't get them far...
SOZINN: Yes and all those other movies on the list are billion dollar grossers, just incase there was ever any doubt. Also Spider-Man: No way home with 355M was omitted.
A very poor 1st half by all standard bar the goal... They surrender the possession easily seems interested in general play just hanging on sitting on a goal lead again
Viktor Gyokeres has scored more goals in 2026 across all competitions than any other Premier League player, with eight of his 15 total goals for the Gunners coming this calendar year
Only Robert Pires (seven in 11 appearances) and Emmanuel Adebayor (six in seven) have scored more Premier League goals for Arsenal in North London derbies than Eberechi Eze (five in two) - BBC Sport
BlueRayDick: Gyokeres has really improved in his positioning ; he's also been playing well with ball at his feet than when he just arrived earlier in the season.
Hoping this form will continue and lead us to amassing as much points as possible till final day.
For me, it's not about his positioning but his resolve to stay on his feet and fight using his body well playing to the whistle not falling down with every body-check or touches... He needs to improve going forward, Ref in England rarely awards 50-50 or tussle...
Rice (MOTM for me) bar the mistake really played out his soul today as always and Mosquera pressing forced some errors from Spurs backline especially Spence...
Fkforyou: we don dey let tottenham pressure us again.
Gyokeres can't win duels to save his life.
He should actually concentrate on playing the game rather than complaining to the Ref for every little touches on him... You are not here to do fine boy, always falling for every body-check
BlueRayDick: He's been playing Eze at 10 and he hasn't cover himself in glory at all. Remember the last match Saka played 10 and it was a good outing for the team. So u should understand why Saka was used as a 10 in this match considering we are even playing the lowest ranked team on the league table..
As regards taking Gyokeres off, if u noticed in the first half most of the balls that got to him were either drifting to the right or left and Gyokeres was struggling to dribble his way into the box. I believe the manager subbing him off for Jesus was because Jesus is actually a good dribbler who can move with the ball at his feet. Jesus even scored vs Wolves in the first leg after Gyokeres played rubbish in the same game.
We didn't start the match with the intention of loading aerial balls to our front man, so playing Gyokeres for the full match may seem like putting ourselves at disadvantage as at the team that decision was being made.
I honestly believe we were outdone by weak mentality in this match. The players were just too nervy and didn't get their acts together. All of the players we fielded today are capable of playing in a team that will drub Wolves as much as 4 unreplied goals, it was just the mentality with which they prosecute this match that is very stinking.
You captured it right, he (Gyokeres) couldn't control most of the passes getting to him leading to turnover of possession to Wolves... I would not blame the Manager for his substitution, he was ineffective...
mostob: Comparing Haaland to Gyokeres is like comparing panasonic to LG. I'm talking about fitness because the only reason he got subbed may be due to the spurs match. He could have finished the match yesterday and still play that spurs match.
The players are not really ready to win trophies. They're too relax and they always chicken out. Jover almost entered the field to fight them.
We don't need to be defending slim advantages with the talents we have got, the only reason we are still in the title race is down to our backline as I pointed out the last time the team general play has not improved from last season, it seems to be regressing for me especially with creativity...
People like Nelli, Tro would not start at Villa or Newcastle, we need an elite LW of Bayern's Diaz mold..
E pain me, na just to avoid social media and radio for the next few days :
mostob: His subs today was laughable. Aside Trossard and Saka who had to be subbed, removing Gyokeres that early was diabolical. Haaland do play 90 minutes back to back now. Look at those Liverpool players despite their high energy tactic they do play. Look at Gravenbach. What's the excuse for removing Gyokeres?
I was actually not impressed with the lineup initially. I don't fancy this Saka at #10 stuff. Just play Eze at left 8 and Zubi on the right (at the worst)
Please don't put Haaland in same sentence as Gyokeres who was very ineffective today as always falling like brother Bernard, Saka put him through in the 1st half and he couldn't even execute a cross in with 3 players waiting in the box and even fumbled a simple back-pass back to Saka...There are many times his poor holdup play gifted possession to Wolves today...
I won't blame Arteta for hauling him off but would blame him for negative tactics of sitting off Wolves with only 2-1 advantage, we did same in the 1st leg and it almost burned us then against Sunderland, Liverpool etc... defending slim advantages against less fancy sides with all the talents at his disposal is indictable or an indictment...
iamoyindamola: We will rather blame the players and leave out the special manager because he's our Lord and saviour Trust the process
We sat off Wolves in the 2nd half, one can't blame the likes of Carragher when he says we don't play like champions.... City has been uncharacteristically woeful but it seems we are still going to bottle the League for them...
Before today game, we gathered 12 points from 21 that's woeful for a championship chasing side...
We sat off Wolves; Wolves ooo (20th on the Log) in the 2nd half what kind of negative tactics is that... I was ranting here about our drab uninspiring draw to Forest ; some people here were saying then that am overreacting and some even called me agent of doom, now with City game in hand and a visit to Spurs, Etihad to come, we are truly 4ked ... Perhaps more defensive signings would do
Why are players like Nelli playing 90mins doing nothing even Saka ghosted the 2nd half and is it until Zubi gassed out cos he was clearly tired late on...
Another bottling loading, the pattern is converging again....
mostob: Nah.. I don't think a coach would tell his players to stop shooting. Everything still boils down to decision making. Wenger was asked same question years ago and his reply shed light on this.
We are saying same thing that is what being non-committal means, Arteta said when asked after Sunderland match about shooting outside the D; "if the space is not in one place, it will be somewhere else" that is finding a player in best position to pass to is the 1st and best option for him...
mostob: Madueke can't last 90 minutes bro. He was already tired which is why he was substituted.
I am a big critic of Gyokeres but he played his heart out yesterday. A big improvement from recent showings.
My own na why Rice and Zubi no dey shoot. Frustrating lads
On this, I remembered the last time Zubi scored from outside the box Vs Sunderland and Arteta was asked at press conference afterward if his players now had fredom to shoot more from outside, he was non-committal saying stuff about space and others being in better position to receive passes 🤣🤣🤣🤣....
BlueRayDick: Only Raya and Rice can hold their head high for their commendable performance today.
Every other person was just average and didn't do enough for us to get 3 points.
Even Raya was shaky and couldn't control his area whenever they have set-pieces to defend...his constant changing of position destabilise the defence settings a lot of times today... He did save us late in the1st half when Gyokeres couldn't control a simple pass that led to that fast break
I swear Madueke should have been left on with Saka no show since coming on, Ode failed to do the basics and that led to the equaliser ( simple eye on ball defending) and you only need to see the way Thiago conduct himself today to know that this Gyokeres na confirm Otu ( can't hold up play, to complete simple pass na wahala)...
Only Rice and Gabriel showed up today even Raya couldn't control his area always looking shaky..
We are very lucky getting away with even one point sef....
It's funny how Gyokeres is not being called out here, just look at how a smaller man in Thiago is using his body well... Zero holdup play, his attempted passes looks horrible just giving the ball away every time
