Talks this week: Arsenal chasing late transfer swoop for Leicester City star Arsenal are reportedly set to hold discussions over potential midfield signings in the next few days as they continue to chase Leicester City star Youri Tielemans. The Belgium international has been strongly linked with the Gunners recently, and seems to be one of their targets alongside Juventus ace Arthur, though talks over a loan move for the Brazilian seem to have stalled. A report from football.london now suggests Arsenal could try a late move for Tielemans, which follows Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers also recently suggesting he was preparing for the former Monaco man’s departure. https://msport247..com/2022/01/talks-this-week-arsenal-chasing-late.html

Newcastle United submit second offer for Jesse Lingard Newcastle United have reportedly submitted an improved loan offer to Manchester United for midfielder Jesse Lingard. Lingard, 29, is in the final six months of his contract and looks certain to depart Old Trafford either this window or next summer. Despite spending his entire career with the Red Devils after joining their youth academy when he was just a young boy, Lingard has seen his first-team opportunities heavily restricted in recent seasons. Having failed to start a single Premier League match so far this season, the 29-year-old looks set to spend the second half of the campaign out on loan and one club pushing to seal his signature is Eddie Howe’s Magpies. That’s according to a recent report from the Shields Gazette, who claims the newly taken over Geordies have made a second offer for Lingard. Although West Ham United are also understood to be keen to bring the Englishman back to London, following a hugely successful short-term loan last season, the Red Devils do not want the midfielder to strengthen a direct league rival. https://msport247..com/2022/01/newcastle-united-submit-second-offer.html

Former Premier League goalkeeper says Man United star is undroppable Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has been in sensational form in recent weeks and can comfortably be considered ‘untouchable’. That’s the view of ex-Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson, who feels the Portuguese attacking full-back is quickly emerging as one of the Red Devils’ most important players. Dalot, 22, was signed to the club in 2018 by former manager Jose Mourinho, however, the Portuguese tactician’s departure saw the full-back struggle under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However, following Solskjaer’s dismissal last year, Dalot, now managed by interim boss Ralf Rangnick, has seen his career undergo a major U-turn. https://msport247..com/2022/01/former-premier-league-goalkeeper-says.html

Man Utd set to sign 'Colombian Cristiano Ronaldo' ahead of Liverpool after scouting trip Manchester United are threatening to gain the upper hand over Liverpool in the race for a player described as the 'Colombian Cristiano Ronaldo '. Luis Diaz has been on the radar of a number of top clubs thanks to his goals for Porto and his breakout international tournament at last summer's Copa America. The 25-year-old has been described as a "perfect" signing for Liverpool as they aim to address the precarious contract situation affecting their current forward line, but they're not alone in their pursuit of the player. However, they're not the only team keeping tabs on the former Junior de Barranquilla man, and United's scouts have been hard at work ahead of a potential bid for one of European football's most exciting talents. https://msport247..com/2022/01/man-utd-set-to-sign-colombian-cristiano.html

Barcelona can't function without Lionel Messi Many often speculated that once Lionel Messi left Barcelona, the club would go onto a steady decline, and that appears to have been proven correct with the club struggling to function without the Argentine talisman. Not since before Messi began his illustrious senior career at the Camp Nou have the Blaugrana been involved in the Europa League/UEFA Cup, yet in less than six months since he walked away from the club, Barcelona have dropped into Europe's secondary tournament. Whilst there is a clear drop in terms of overall quality within the Barcelona squad, Messi's attacking output has been missing specifically in the Champions League. In the competition where the Argentine shone the brightest, Barcelona have been dim in front of goal, scoring only against Dynamo Kiev in the group stage. Both Bayern Munich and Benfica kept two clean-sheets against the Catalan side, with Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong failing to work as an inspiring forward partnership. for more= https://msport247..com/2022/01/barcelona-cant-function-without-lionel.html

Calls for Messi to return to Barcelona in 2023! Is it a possibility? Leo Messi only parted ways with Barcelona in the summer gone by after an illustrious career with the Blaugrana, a club he had been with since the age of 13, but there are already calls from various circles in and around the Camp Nou outfit to bring the Argentine back. After the club was unable, economically, to extend Messi's contract, there was no other option than for the Argentine and the Catalans to endure a painful breakup, leading their No.10 to join Paris Saint-Germain on a two-year contract, with the possibility of a third. Now, however, calls are gathering for Messi to rejoin Barcelona in 2023, when his PSG contract comes to a close. Victor Font, the presidential candidate who ran in the 2021 elections but came second to Joan Laporta, is already urging the club to plan a way for Messi to return. "His departure deserved to be through the front door," Font stated on RAC-1. "From that moment on, the club should be thinking about how Messi could return to Barcelona in 2023." https://msport247..com/2022/01/calls-for-messi-to-return-to-barcelona.html for more: |

Coach Austin Eguaveon says he is disappointed with the Super Eagles defeat to Tunisia in Africa Cup of Nations. The Super Eagles crashed out of the tournament, after losing 1-0 to Tunisia in the round of 16 clash played at the Ominisports Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua on Sunday. Reacting to the results, Eguaveon refused to blame the players and insisted they gave everything to qualify to win the game. “We came here with vision and we gave it all. In the Round of 16, we all know what it means, when you lose you go home, when you win you remain in the tournament and that is song we have been singing.” “I can’t really blame these boys, because they gave their all, they fought for it and, it just wasn’t to be.” FOR MORE:www.msport247..com
