At least, six teams have qualified for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, quarter-final stage.

Senegal and Morocco became the latest countries to qualify for the AFCON last-8 on Tuesday.

Senegal had defeated Cape Verde 2-0 in the AFCON round of 16 tie on Tuesday evening, while Morocco defeated Malawi 2-1.

Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has disclosed that he dropped out of University to pursue a career in football.


The Rangers midfielder made the revelation while in a chat with William Troost-Ekong on his YouTube channel.

Aribo was born in England to Nigerian parents and started his football career with Kinetic Academy before joining a non-league side in Staines Town where he moved to Charlton Athletics.



“At 18, I was going to the university, studying Sports science and playing with Staines. Then I got a move to Charlton, then I can stop schooling for now.

Calls for Messi to return to Barcelona in 2023! Is it a possibility?

Coach Austin Eguaveon says he is disappointed with the Super Eagles defeat to Tunisia in Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles crashed out of the tournament, after losing 1-0 to Tunisia in the round of 16 clash played at the Ominisports Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua on Sunday.

Reacting to the results, Eguaveon refused to blame the players and insisted they gave everything to qualify to win the game.

“We came here with vision and we gave it all. In the Round of 16, we all know what it means, when you lose you go home, when you win you remain in the tournament and that is song we have been singing.”


“I can’t really blame these boys, because they gave their all, they fought for it and, it just wasn’t to be.”
