Just tell us in a simple term. We paid the ransom and the owners of Nigeria released them after term and agreement was met. You always want bad news for Nigeria but God is bigger than you lot. Credit where it is due - well done to the Nigerian Police Force. This was no mean feat. |

givedemwotowoto: Even house members have constituency development packages. This doesn’t take away the responsibility of developing their constituencies from the governor. You can’t twist the narrative no matter how much you try.
If governors were in charge of security, Tinubu will not do what he did to Fubara in Rivers.
The President is in charge, and if his IGP and commissioners of police are failing, he knows what to do.
But since he doesn’t know what to do, we Nigerians know what to do. You seem not to understand the constitution. State Governors are firmly in charge of the security of their state. If he fails in upholding this responsibility, and his state becomes ungovernable, the President can declare state of emergency. It is the position of our constitution. |

They quickly deployed their intelligence against a suspect that allegedly doctored the President’s voice (according to them).
The same bandits are online as well. The governor is the number one security officer for his state. That's why he's paid a lot of security vote each month which he doesn't need to explain how it is spent according to the law. Lot of things need to be amended in Nigeria. It's an open secret that most governors are just chopping their state monthly security votes anyhow while blaming the presidency. |

Doesn't it bother you that a criminal who have access to your mobile phone can access your money in Opay through that channel? If you understand Oauth architecture, you will realize what you described is not possible. Oauth is very secured and allows for token revocation. |
Business › Re: GTBank And Firstbank Playing Games With My ₦50,000 by MT: 2:51pm On Jun 02 |
Jef4u: Hello Nairalanders,
I am creating this thread to publicly call out the gross incompetence of GTBank (@gtbank) and First Bank (@FirstBankngr). I am currently completely stranded, out of cash, and cannot even afford transport fare because both banks are holding onto my money and playing games with my life.
On the 25th of May, 2026, I transferred ₦50,000 from my First Bank account to my GTBank account.
First Bank debited me instantly. After a week of crying out to both banks, First Bank customer care on X just sent me a DM confirming the transaction was successful on their end and gave me the official 30-digit NIBSS Session ID: 000016260525212658002065390897.
Here is where the wickedness from GTBank starts: 1. Over the weekend, a GTBank agent checked their deep server logs and confirmed to me on WhatsApp that they saw the transaction sitting on their server gate on a "BLANK STATUS."
2. Because they saw it, they created a formal inward dispute ticket for me with Reference ID: 260601353720618 and promised it would be credited.
3. Shockingly, this morning (Tuesday, June 2nd), another GTBank agent named Eberechi Chukwueke sent me an email (CRM:033400000396) completely contradicting the bank, claiming they have "no evidence" of the transaction and told me to go back to First Bank!
How can a bank issue a tracking reference ID for a stuck transaction on Monday, and then turn around on Tuesday to say "no evidence"?
If GTBank's server gate rejected the "blank status" transaction, it means the ₦50,000 has automatically reversed back into First Bank’s internal suspense ledger, and First Bank is lazily sitting on my money without crediting my app dashboard!
I am stuck at home, starving, and stranded. Both banks need to stop passing the buck. One of you is sitting on my ₦50,000.
Please help me tag @gtbank and @FirstBankngr handles on social media. Moderators, please move this to the Front Page to save an innocent customer from this institutional nightmare! Escalate to the central bank customer protection department |

KiNg0G: I can't help but to think do rich kids born with silver spoons in their hands, knows how lucky they are? That if not luck they could have been one of us bred in the ghetto, staying face me I slap you.. attending public schools and it's almost certain they wouldn't make out of the ghetto
Now this is not a hate topic, I'm just in cloud 9 right now and the thought just hit me. Do otedola kids, adenuga sons..Adelekes.. even our very own seun kids knows how lucky they are.. because I know someone who is 45, never worked in is entire life but since he was a boy he receives salary from 3 of is father companies before month end without sweating. You might see him this afternoon, and the next day he might be out of the country to go see is friend and be back the following day.
My question still remains are this set of people SELF AWARE how lucky they are or they just see it as a normal thing? Rich kids have the highest probablity of turning bad and bring their family name into disrepute. Coming from a rich background could be a curse rather than a blessing |

Michealr3x: Opay is here to take over the banking industry if it's been allowed to. This year so far I've got no need in steeping into any bank for one issue or the other, Opay git me covered.
One advice for Opay, if they can have at least 1 main branch like a building in each state in Nigeria, then it's a total takeover for them because they've got all it takes to lead. Once Opay applies and get licence to be a commercial bank, their performance will drop as their app would be subjected to the same regulations by the CBN like the existing commercial banks. Opay is a fintech company, not a commercial bank. They depend on a lot of enterprise cloud infrastructure which CBN restricts commercial from some services. That explains Opay's lightning performance |
Business › Re: How Opay Is Expanding Financial Access Across Nigeria by MT: 11:55am On Jun 02 |
dante23: You have 2 apps. 1 is secured with passcode/fingerprint. The other isn't.
The other one wants to access the secured one. It tells you to select the app and without any form of unlocking/authenticating on the secured app, voila, transaction can be conducted.
Keep in mind, the other app has no auth set up. Go and read about OAUTH. It's not a new thing, I repeat |
Business › Re: How Opay Is Expanding Financial Access Across Nigeria by MT: 11:51am On Jun 02 |
danietohbadt: Opay leads, others follow.
They have successful set the benchmark for digital banking in Nigeria. The CBN gives them some leeway. There are some requirements that commercial banks must align with which opay and other fintechs are excused from. This slows down the performance of the commercial banks apps. |
