You can't "out-business" a bad economy.
Even business men are finding it hard because the economy is very poor.
No, you can't, but if you try doing business, you might succeed. And if you succeed, you'll be better off.

Where will they get the capital and knowledge to start the business?
“...to start a bank, a factory, or other big businesses you need capital (millions of naira most times) BUT to start a business on campus as a university student, you do NOT need “capital”, what you need is an idea with small innovation…”

Stop playing.

Which business are you doing?
Your question should be "What business did you do?" because I graduated from uni years ago.
But still, I get to interact with students almost every day because I now lecture.

And before you ask, I did business while I was in uni.

Interestingly, my uni business gave me the lecturing job. If you're interested, you can read about my journey here:

With the way the economy is these days, every Uni student in Nigeria ought to start a business on campus.

Students should do this to make some money to supplement or add to what your parents send to you.

What do you think?

Trump did, and he couldn't do as promised. Now he's making noise.

Let him relocate to Nigeria and enjoy Tinubu's APC that he has refused to "blast".

Karu is not among the 6 LGA councils in the FCT. Karu is Nasarawa, nothing contradictory here. Why does the Nasaraw state electoral commission conduct LG elections in Karu then?
Not arguing with you o. Just need clarification.
While googling is see that AMAC is one of the LGA councils in the FCT. And Karu (From the explanations I have gotten from others here, that should be Karu site) is listed as part of AMAC.
Abi?

Parts of Karu is in FCT just before Jikwoyi.. from Karu, you can link Nasarawa through City College, that one is old Karu .. then you have new Karu inside Nasatawa State after Maraba as if you're heading towards Keffi.

So basically there is Abuja Karu (where you have NUC quarters, Supreme Court quarters, NCS quarters etc.) and there is Nasarawa Karu.
Makes sense now. Thanks a lot

EducationAre You A Broke University Student? by mubarak89(op): 10:41am On Mar 13, 2025
Students from rich homes appear to have no worries; they look 'cleaner', use the latest phones, eat at the best campus eateries and always have money to buy all study materials and textbooks.

On the other hand, as a broke (poor/not financially strong) student, you mostly struggle through the semester; often not having enough cash, & you can only afford to buy study materials for 'life-threatening' courses.

Here’s the Question:

What should a broke Uni student do?

Should you attempt to alter your financial state?

Or should you endure this poverty and struggle until you graduate?

But again, there's no 100 per cent guarantee that you’ll stop being broke after you graduate.

So…

Here’s my candid advice:

"Do something".

Even as a university student, you can change your poverty story and find your way out. I am telling you this from experience.

If you are tired of being broke, you must stop wishing or dreaming of a better financial life that will come in the future while you fold your arms.

Because you can either do something today to initiate change or do nothing and remain the same.

Final Thoughts…

One of the surest ways to 'Do Something" is to start a profitable business on campus.

But you might ask:

What's the profitable business I can start?

With what Capital?

To answer these questions and many more, get this tiny free PDF book titled:
How to “Do Something”: The Starting Point for Broke Nigerian University Students.

Chairman! Run your own companies or build your own "Tesla" let's see.

Only on NL will people with little to no experience starting or running billion-dollar companies boldly advise someone who has been running billion-dollar companies.

Interesting part is, the advise is often full of sh*t.

EducationStudent Entrepreneurship Or "Suffer Head"? by mubarak89(op): 7:38am On Feb 16, 2025
In trying to do business and earn money on campus, I see too many students take up ventures that are nothing but "suffer-head".

For instance, imagine Sarah; a female student that makes puff-puff, puts everything in a transparent plastic bucket and carries the bucket to class and every other place she goes on campus.

With nothing distinct or innovative.

Here’s the truth: that kind of venture is just "suffer-head".

Why are such ventures "suffer-head"?

There are two easy ways to tell if a venture is a “suffer-head”:

First, there’s zero innovation or distinction,

Secondly, the profit margin is too meagre.

On the other hand, student entrepreneurship ought to be quite innovative. It should be a smart venture.

By “innovative” we aren’t referring to a humongous or complex idea.

Something should distinguish the business of selling puff-puff by an educated person from that of an educated person.

For instance, Sarah can do better at packaging and distributing her puff-puff to kiosks, photocopying centres and shops around campus.

She will make more money, and garner viable knowledge/experience.

Which of these sounds better?

#1. "While in the university, I went about selling puff-puff in a plastic bucket".

Or

#2. "While in the university, I ran a business producing and distributing puff-puff to 7 outlets".

Clearly you have never been to Kaduna. Elrufai still remains arguably the best governor Kaduna has ever had in terms of infrastructure, reforms, IGR and attraction of investments. Make una dey sometimes leave social media and go outside to touch grass.

I know it has become a cliché for everyone to mouth off "southern Kaduna" but it is an established fact that Kaduna has always had that issue long before Elrufai ever dreamt of governing it. From the Zangon Kataf, to the Miss World debacle and several other historic skirmishes. Killings still persists on the low in Southern Kaduna today but the media is under-reporting for whatever reason.
Chairman stop telling lies!

I stay in KD. Everyone who's truthful knows that the attacks by fulani herdsmen and their affiliates skyrocketed during El-Rufai's tenure. Saying the killings are now underreported is a blatant lie and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Everybody in KD (you inclusive) knows that the ex-governor hated SK.

Yes he did a lot in infrastructure BUT only in northern KD. There were no such infrastructual projects in SK.

Repent from bigotry.
