PLASIEC = PLAteau State Independent Electoral Commission. They are responsible for conducting free and fair local government-level elections in Plateau state & so, Jos. 😁 The next elections (for Local Government Chairmen and Councillors) will happen on 9th October 2024. In a recent public notice, the electoral body wrote "...the unauthorised use of our logo can cause confusion, undermine our credibility, and compromise the integrity of the electoral process". Now, that’s a legitimate statement. But should PLASIEC be concerned about typosquatting? "Typosquatting" (domain mimicry, sting sites, or fake URLs) is when someone registers a website address very similar to another organisation’s website address, but with a slight typo to deceive users. Hackers in Nigeria commonly use typosquatting for phishing attacks. Another part of PLASIEC’s public notice says "...PLASIEC has a live website, www.plasiec.ng where payment of nomination forms by Political Parties is ongoing. At the end of all primaries, PLASIEC will upload results from participating political parties for public view and access." The problem: With ₦7,500, anyone can easily register the website address www.plaseic.ng, clone PLASIEC’s website, upload fake results and push the illegitimate website address to the public. Now that is typosquatting that will cause confusion, undermine PLASIEC’s credibility, and compromise the integrity of the electoral process. Cyber threats like this are why restricted domains exist. As a state government agency, PLASIEC should obtain the restricted .gov.ng domain just like its counterpart in Lagos (lasiec.gov.ng) or even use a sub-domain of plateaustate.gov.ng (e.g.: plasiec.plateaustate.gov.ng). Using a restricted domain eliminates typosquatting. But again should PLASIEC bother about typosquatting? Copied from: https://techinjos.com.ng/issue/2 |
Pennywise2:So for the success you're now having with your AdSense monetization, how much do you earn monthly?? |
Richnero99:Hahahaha. Why is he funny though? |
I remember when virtually everyone wanted to own a blog or a website because we had online business gurus preaching everywhere about Google AdSense as a business and website monetization strategy. But for a very long time, I literarily stopped hearing or seeing anyone actively promoting the idea of earning big from Google AdSense until yesterday in a meeting where one "tech-Sis" went on and on about how my organization can earn morning by playing incorporating a blog on our website and start earning big from AdSense. Interestingly, I didn't object but just kept quiet and listened. Now, we'll pay her to make that happen. But I can't help but wonder if Google AdSense is still a big deal for Nigerian bloggers. Is Adsense still a Profitable Monetization Strategy in 2024 for Nigerian Blogs? Do you know anyone earning a reasonable amount from AdSense in 2024? |
You still haven't said anything. Tell me why I shouldn't have sex with any of these group of persons you've mentioned. Give me real and practical reasons not some religious gaslighting please. |

So 2023 is coming to a close and many of us have begun to prepare and make big plans for 2024. While at it, I need your opinions: What business venture can someone start as soon as we begin 2024? Assume your startup capital is 300K. Let's have your top two (2) ideas. |
“Idan doesn’t break. She breaks records. We are rooting for you Hilda” If you believe Tinubu wrote those words himself then you must be a du** a**. Lol. He himself most likely doesn't know anything about any Hilda. |
