HealthRe: High Blood Pressure: 4 Causes Of Hypertension You Probably Don’t Know. by MummyJackson(f): 3:42pm On Mar 11, 2017

Are You At Risk For High Blood Pressure (Hypertension) – And Don’t Even Know It?

High blood pressure (or hypertension) is a very serious concern that can increase a person’s risk of having stroke, heart attack and heart failure [which might result to sudden death].

If you or someone you love is suffering from high blood pressure, then please don’t skim this article, make sure you read and understand the guidelines below and then prove your love by sharing it with that person.

Science has identified several factors that can increase a person’s risk for high blood pressure; some of these factors are controllable while others are uncontrollable.

The good news is- the uncontrollable factors are few compared to the controllable factors. Therefore, the implication of this is:
Hypertension can be easily managed through proactive actions [lifestyle changes and medications].
What’s High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)?

A normal blood pressure readings is 120/80 mm Hg or below; if a person’s blood pressure is 140/90 or above consistently for a number of weeks, he’s considered to be hypertensive.

I believe the main reason why Hypertension is referred to as “silent killer” is because it could be present in a person for a long time without signs. It symptoms are not unique; in fact, it shares symptoms with other sicknesses like malaria, typhoid, etc.

Needless to say, Hypertension, if ignored can cause a serious damage to your health…
What Are The Causes Of Hypertension?

Anytime hypertension is mentioned, the next thing that comes to people’s mind is- it’s caused by stress and anxiety…

Of course, stress and anxiety can trigger a rise in blood pressure but these are not the only factors that can cause high blood pressure; there are other factors that can increase a person’s risk for high blood pressure, some of these factors are:

• Family history of high blood pressure-if your father or mother has or had high blood pressure, then, you’re at a high risk of being hypertensive.

• Ethnic Origin: Some ethnic groups are at greater risk of having high blood pressure. Africans (and Africa-Americans), South Asians, Caribbeans..., for example have higher likelihood of being hypertensive.

• Age: As you grow older, your blood vessels lose the ability to expand, which can cause your blood pressure to skyrocket.

• Tobacco Smoking: “Smokers are liable to die of hypertension, heart failure or other heart diseases.” Cigarette smoking is a higher risk factor for high blood pressure.

• Obesity or Overweight: An overweight person is a potential candidate for hypertension.

• Excessive Alcohol Consumption: It is said that a little quantity of alcohol is good for the body but too much of it can be detrimental to your health. Too much intake of alcohol can boost your chances of having high blood pressure, stroke and other heart diseases.

However, there are some critical factors that can increase people’s risk for hypertension which are lesser-known, they include:

Excessive Salt Intake: Are you taking too much salt daily than your body needs? If so, I have a bad news for you – you’re a potential candidate for high blood pressure because salt contains sodium [which causes your body to retain excess fluid, which increases blood pressure].

To reduce your risk for hypertension and other heart diseases, I suggest you follow American Heart Association (AHA)’s recommendation – “sodium consumption should be limited to 1,500 milligrams per day,” Which is about ½ teaspoon of salt.

Mothers in the pls I need your input and how to handle this matter pls ...

My new house help have been acting strangely since morning after sometime she came to meet me and start telling me how my eight years old niece do touch her breast at night and sometimes try to jump on her body. I was just surprise. I called her into the room and started asking her questions
- the only time she was sexually molested was when she was one year her devil uncle tried to penetrate her (he is still in jail)
-her mum is a no nonsense woman so she was rightly trained
-I don't allow her to watch adult movies in short I watch all my movies in my room.

So am confuse, is it from school or have she been doing it for long.she swears that she has not been molested by anybody and she doesn't know about her uncle.
how old is she?
