You don't need a new permit, get the new admission acceptance and apply for extension explaining your circumstance. My wife had a somewhat similar case but a little different from yours.

So since you wont need a fresh study permit application that cones with 21k living expensees, you wont need to do a new medical.

I need help from people that experienced a situation like mine or know people that did.

I started my 2 yr diploma program in Fall 2023 but in my second choice of study. I had to apply for program change to my preferred program and it was granted to me( my college policy is that an international student must complete at least one semester in the program the study permit was gotten before changing). Unfortunately, the intake to my new program is only in fall, so I had to wait. I returned home after discussing with my school immigration specialist. I was told it would ONLY be a problem if I stay in Canada for 8 months of no study. I had the option of continuing with my old program in January but I didn't , since there will be no certification for just one year in it with all the money.

I have been given a deposit to make for the new program which I am about to pay but my questions are:
1. Do I need to do another medicals since I have stayed out of Canada for Six months and my last medical is over one year?
2. What is the proper way to let IRCC know about my program change?
3. Do I have to apply for a fresh study permit ? OR Apply for Study permit and Visa extension with the explanation that, it is due the change of program.

Please, I need a detailed outline of what to do in conformity with IRCC rules and regulations.

Note: I have written mails to my school but the replies are not straight to the point.

Biometrics Request - 7hrs later.
Biometrics -8th May.
Medicals passed - 9th May
PPR - 9th May
PP Submission - 10th May.

My eligibility read that they were reviewing to see if I met the eligibility requirement. This God broke protocols for me.


My husband is my Sponsor and I applied without him and the children.
All statement of Account submitted were his .
36 documents were submitted supporting all that I wrote in my SOP.

Hi guys. My 2 cents for newbies and people who want to embark on this Canada journey. Please make sure your DLI offers PGWP after graduation. It's so pathetic seeing some folks who just arrived in my province a few days ago, and almost all their DLI(s) don't offer PGWP. See, Changing DLI in Canada is not as simple as many make it out to be because you will have so much to do immediately after you arrive here than start thinking about changing DLI. That school you have been eyeing for months before you commit to them, make sure you check again. Check very well before paying tuition fees, depositing, or submitting your visa application. Click the link below and check. If your school says YES, you are good to go. If it says YES & more details, try and read the details very well because some courses are not eligible for PGWP in some school. Ire oooooh

Please does anyone have idea on IOM medical, I tried booking an upfront appointment on there website after fill all detail, it had an error. I tried booking again, it Said I had booked already.

When I click on my appointment on the website it show I have no appointment.

I think phone calls might not help you real fast. Just send email to the specific location( Abuja or Lagos) telling them about the error you encountered while trying to schedule an upfront medical appointment. Attach your passport data page, and state the visa type. They will reply you with a ticket number saying and that they will get back to you. If it is taking long and you haven't got the confirmation of appointment, keep sending email on daily basis always quoting the ticket number. Their account details are on the web and payment must be made before you enter the facility.
NOTE: 1. Payment is non refundable.
2. Women can proceed for medical exams even on their menstrual periods ( against what is seen on the web) . Same for Qlife too.

You can only be allowed in with your booking confirmation and payment receipt on phone or paper( preferably).

I read that a document check list must be submitted. Though this particular checklist I mentioned has a different family information form , I just want to put it like that since I didn't any other better than it.

Thanks a lot for this. I emailed qlife with the medical request and I was given a date. However, the email state that I should bring along my ATM card on the date to make payment.

If you send email and they schedule you, you go with your card on the appointment day and make the payment. They also accept transfer but you will wait for the alert to show in their system first.

@ people that used 2 pages of family Information form ( IMM 5645).
If you uploaded the 1st one, how did you submit the second one please?

Can both be uploaded after merging them with pdf portfolio.

This is a situation where an applicant has 5 children whereas 4 spaces are provided.

I am not certain what the issue is but:
Make sure you validate the form after checking that you filled out every compulsory area correctly.
Since you are applying online , make sure to put your email address and phone numbers just under the section for mailing details( for people mailing their application to IRCC).
I hope these help.

I looks like I am not using the Adobe distiller right; but was able to compress a file to 9 in stead of the 4 required with another Adobe tool.

Yes. I used Stanbic IBTC mutual fund as part of my proof of funds.

However, I included both the account statement and reference letter.

I also stated in my sop that I have access to the funds there anytime.

Finally, I withdrew my one year tuition out of the mutual fund to my bank account and left only the living expenses (I did this to prove I had access to the money. I can't say for certain if it's compulsory).

Good day everyone, i got my medical request last week, and I tried booking an appointment with IOM lagos, but i was given a date a month from now. Everytime I try to book an appointment with QLife. The message is that there is no slot available. Please what can i do? I would really appreciate the help

My suggestion is that you go to Qlife office if you are in Lagos, they will schedule you with your medical request asap but if you are to make the booking yourself, you have to wait for Mondays - make sure you are already at the booking site by 8am . They open it up between 8and 8:30am and it may not last for 15mins. Note. You must make payment with your card before your booking is completed. If you have tribal mark, be ready to spend extra 7500 on the exam day for Hep B & C tests.

Secondly,you can send email to qlife and they will honour your mail and book you because you have the medical request. As at ending of March, they couldn't book you if it is for upfront medicals no matter how many mails you send.

Thirdly you can send IOM mail. Attach your medical request from IRCC, you passport data page, your IME number and state the visa type. You will reply you with a date and if the date good for you, proceed to make payment and keep your proof. The acct details are on the site.
You can only be allowed in your your booking confirmation and payment receipt.

No payment is refundable please.

Has anyone used mutual funds or money market funds as proof of funds from a sponsor and the application was successful?

Please, let me know how to present this giving that my husband is my sponsor and we think leaving the fund in his account is better than putting it in my own and explaining the lump sum. I am not using my statement of account to apply.

Good day all!
I applied to Seneca college for fall 2023 for 2-yr diploma courses.
1. Does anyone know long an offer is open to be accepted/ confirmed?
2. How long is the duration they give for someone to pay the 1st semester fees after the offer letter has been sent?

I got wait-listed at this time for my 1st choice meaning that this wait list is not for any other intake but got an offer in my 3rd choice 2days. ago and was told that once I have accepted the program, all other program choices will be cancelled and an official Offer of Admission letter and package will be emailed to me within 2 business days.

I don't want to immediately accept this offer since it will cancel out where I am on wait list in case an offer will come from it eventually, most importantly, I wouldn't want to loose out entirely by not knowing how long this offer is open to me to make a wise decision with the 'bird at hand'.
