HealthRe: Breaking News: OAU Female Ebola Virus Suspect Moved To Lagos by mummyson26(m): 11:27pm On Sep 09, 2014
LilNetty: The authorities of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have said one of its female student is suspected to be a secondary contact of Ebola.
This was contained in a statement by the Public Relations of the university, Mr. Biodun Olarewaju late on Tuesday.
He explained that the suspected student has been evacuated to Lagos for proper attention.
It said, “A female student of the OAU, Ile-Ife who is suspected to be a secondary contact of the Ebola Virus Disease in Port-Harcourt, presented sick at the University Health Centre.
“After a clinical assessment by the Ebola Surveillance Preparedness and Response Committee of the University, the authorities thereafter contacted the State Ministry of Health, the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation(WHO).
“The female suspected secondary Ebola contact has since been evacuated to the appropriate facility in Lagos for further investigations to confirm her status.”
While emphasising that the student illness was not a confirmed Ebola case, Olarewaju said appropriate preventive and protective measures have been taken.
He added, “In the meantime, the National team and the World Health Organisation team on Ebola Control have promptly decontaminated the University Health Centre despite the fact that the case is yet to be confirmed.
“The University authorities wish to emphasise the fact that the case is not a confirmed case of Ebola Virus Disease and therefore request all members of the University Community to remain calm as the situation is fully under control.”

Nairaland GeneralRe: Ebola: Cameroon Quarantines 60 Nigerians by mummyson26(m): 5:31am On Sep 06, 2014
emaculate99: Due to the Ebola crisis that has claimed lives of
seven Nigerians, the Cameroonian government has
quarantined 60 Nigerians in its South-West region
over the fear of the disease spreading to the
country.
A report by a Cameroonian online newspaper,
cameroon-info.net, said the sixty Nigerians were
quarantined in the Ekok, Ekondo, and Titi
communities in the country’s South-West region
close to the border with Nigeria.
The country’s Minister of Health, Dr. Lukong Bay,
said that there would be a restriction of movement
of people from Nigeria and other countries affected
by the disease to Cameroon as from Tuesday,
September 2, 2014.
It was also stated in the report that the Nigerians
would be released after 21 days of surveillance.
The report said, “This is a new delight that perhaps
the minister of health has expected Tuesday
afternoon in this region for a working session with
the persons responsible for the implementation of
the response plan on Ebola disease in the ports of
Limbe and Tiko.
“As part of preventive measures against the
epidemic in West Africa with nearly 1,500 deaths
already recorded, the South-West, which borders
with Nigeria, is considered one of the parts of the
country that require a closer monitoring.”

PoliticsRe: Indian Doctors Forced To Treat Ebola Victims By FG by mummyson26(m): 5:29pm On Aug 12, 2014
XKZ: Did you read the entire report?

Firstly It's the Nigerian branch of an Indian hospital. Also the person defending the actions of the hospital is an Indian from the head office. (This shows It's an Indian run hospital)

Secondly, no Ebola cases (confirmed or suspected) have be reported in Abuja. So the Indian doctors (who are based in Abuja) have not been forced to treat any Ebola patient they are just making a pre-emptive move.

Thirdly, the article says a relative of the doctors claims some of the patients from Lagos are being treated in Abuja. We all know this to be untrue, all suspected and confirmed cases are quarantined in Lagos.

The bottom line is that this has nothing to do with Nigerians, it is a trade dispute between Indian doctors and their Indian employers.
Walahi your head correct
