omoolorire:Just doctors bro! |
Do you know any doctor in the following speciality who is ready to work in a goverment hospital/school? I currently have slots for them and it's free of charge. You wont be required to pay a dime as long as you are qualified. I am just doing this as a good Nigerian. ENT 3 Anaesthesia 2 Opthalmology 4 |
I left a state government Univ as an assistant lecturer 2 to take up a job as a senior lecturer in a private university. The pay was x3 of my salary....besides I jumped 6yrs of normal promotion. 2years after, I was retrenched amongst 100 others. They said "technology replaced us"....Lol....We all knew their was no money due to the pandemic and the student enrolment in the Bowen University was nothing to write home about. The school was only trying to save face.... I felt like dying. My 3rd baby had just been born. I started regretting leaving a stable place. For the 1st time, I saw tears fall from my wife's eyes....we made a mistake of investing all the money coming into a house we were building in Ibadan without knowing the sack would happen...big mistake Those tears inspired me....8months later, I got another job, same position same salary.....2 months after I got another job in Abuja that will be x3 of my current salary.... Decision decision all over again..... Since the two University are private schools, I had to choose the highest paying one...if i need to eat frog, i should just make sure its fattened atleast......Now, I have learnt that I should never invest more than 50% of my savings....emergency fund should always be untouched. 2days ago, another offer came...but the pay is lesser so am staying put here... Keep your head up bro....and pray to God for direction...things will take shape. Now my family have forgotten months of uncertainty. |
jesmond3945:Yes, according to him 74 staff (including academic staff) were recently disengaged due to lack of funds/policy change. |
Abfinest007:No one is forcing their way. We just need advice that's all. |
Bola146:You are right about "Nigeria". Lol He intend starting the process of going back soon. In fact, he doesnt mind returning to his lower position. We just want to know the angle to process from since his resignation was not acknowledged |
Bola146:Thank you so much for your comments. I need advice based on the fact that his resignation was not acknowledged. |

Please help. My brother who worked as a lecturer II in a federal University got a better offer from a private University as a senior Lecturer (3 times the salary). He put in a resignation letter twice with no reply from the registrar (management). First time the letter got missing but the second time he made sure to get a copy that was recieved by the Dean as evidence that he gave proper notice of 3months . After waiting 3-4months without any confirmation/reply from management, my brother left for the new offer since time was going. 2years down the line the clog in my brother's eyes has cleared and he has realized that private University job security is nothing to write home about despite the huge money he is being paid and the very senior role he is playing (jump almost 5years by moving to a private school). You cant make a sincere suggestion that would be adhered to as every thing is geared towards making profit. Now he is regretting why he left the federal school and wish he could go back. What would be your advice considering that his resignation letter was never acknowledged or confirmed when he left. They just stopped paying him salary. What do you think? Please i need your informed stand on this. Thank you as you help. |

He made the biggest wrong choice. Anything public is far better than private.
