Business / Re: Forbes Releases Comprehensive 2023 World Billionaire Rankings As Three Nigerians by Munamoqel: 8:11pm On Apr 05, 2023
GlobalNews2020:
FORBES RELEASES COMPREHENSIVE 2023 WORLD BILLIONAIRE RANKINGS AS THREE NIGERIANS - DANGOTE, RABIU, ADENUGA, MAKE THE LIST

Forbes has released its comprehensive list of world's billionaires for 2023. The list, which came out Tuesday, April 4th, with 2460 individual billionaires globally, has a couple of surprises. This is more so since the last year has been full of falling stocks, wounded unicorns and rising interest rates which translated into a down year for many of the world's richest people. The 25 richest people in the world are worth a collective $2.1 trillion, down a combined $200 billion from $2.3 trillion in 2022.

Luxury goods tycoon Bernard Arnault‘s net worth surged by $53 billion to $211billion dollars since last year, a bigger gain than anyone on the planet, to climb to the number one spot for the first time ever on the rise of share in his company, LVMH. Former world’s richest man, Elon Musk, slipped to second position after his worth reduced by $39billion due to his purchase of social messaging g app, Twitter.

One of the surprises however is the rise of BUA Group chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu. From 7.6Billion Dollars a few months ago, the Billionaire businessman and philanthropist's rating in Forbes billionaires list has again shot up towering many to become the 249th richest person in the world and closing in on overtaking the third richest man in Africa, Nicky Oppenheimer who stands at 8.4billion Dollars. Rabiu's latest worth is put at 8.2billion dollars. From 1.6billion Dollars in 2019, Forbes recorded that by 2022 his net worth was at 6.9billion dollars and from there has jumped to 8.2billion Dollars in April 2023.

62-year old Abdul Samad Rabiu is essentially into cement and sugar as well as real estate and is building sub-saharan Africa’s second largest refinery and petrochemicals plant in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria.

Meanwhile Aliko Dangote has retained his position as the wealthiest person of African descent in th e world. After climbing to 14billion Dollars in 2022, his wealth is estimated to be around 14.2billion Dollars as at the reports released on Tuesday April 4, 2023.

He is presently the 125th richest man in the world and he is easily the largest cement producer in Africa. He also has his hands in other businesses including pastries, sugar and other areas of manufacturing.

For Mike Adenuga, the third Nigerian on the African billionaire's list, business has not been cosy. He dropped from 7.3billion Dollars in 2022 to 6.1billion dollars. The last couple of years have seen him move up and down the wealthiest' scale. He's now the 418th richest in the world at 58.

These are the only three Nigerians that made the list.
One other surprise name on the list however is 90-yr old Nathan Kirsh from tiny African Country of Swaziland. He is said to worth 6.5billion dollars, thus becoming the 6th ranked African billionaire, now above Mike Adenuga. He is believed to be into real estate retail and fashion.

It was the first time he would be featured as an African billionaire.

Methodology: According to Forbes, their 'World’s Billionaires list is a snapshot of wealth using stock prices and exchange rates from March 10, 2023. Some people become richer or poorer within days of publication. We list individuals rather than multigenerational families who share fortunes, though we include wealth belonging to a billionaire’s spouse and children if that person is the founder of the fortune'.

'For non-founders, we previously listed couples and family members together in certain cases; this year, we separated these shared fortunes into individual list members, marked “split family fortune.” For Russian billionaires, fortunes were calculated using ownership structures from February 2022, prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and before many made transfers of assets to managers, friends and others in an effort to protect their holdings from sanctions'.

'We value a variety of assets, including private companies, real estate, art and more. We don’t pretend to know each billionaire’s private balance sheet (though some provide it). When documentation isn’t supplied or available, we discount fortunes'.
list rejected by IPOB .it biased against the people that develop Lagos and Asia without us Lagos will collapse .where is our e money cubana na we get Lagos

There is no doubt the game plan of the north. Tinubu is obviously not in the equation.
The plans are well laid out. Right from the primaries to the campaign proper, the naira-note policy, fuel hike and then the elections . The election and the results manipulations are all geared towards the laid out plans.
We all know those around Tinubu can't do much for him. It has always been about the north and Shettima is the choosing one and if the worst comes to the worst, north will settle for Atiku.

South should ve United behind Obi. This is what Obasanjo and Pa Adebanjo were all fighting against but those southerners mobilizing for Tinubu were either working for the northern plan or are simply political novices.

Politics / Re: Soludo's One Year In Office: Focus On The IGR Sector by Munamoqel: 1:20pm On Apr 02, 2023
TonyRazor:
Soludo's one year in office: focus on the IGR sector

By Chinedu Obigwe

Internally Generated Revenue is the lifeblood of all government operations, if it doesn't work, nothing works. FAAC allocations are unpredictable, but we have an economy with an estimated value of up to 5 trillion naira.
"It is critical to highlight the enormous potentials that exist as well as the appropriate benchmark and targets ".

"If we have a 5 trillion naira estimate and collect 1% that is 60 billion naira per year. If we collect 2% that's 120 billion naira per year, or a minimum of ten billion naira per month on average. If we receive 5% of income, we will have 300 billion naira per year. With Anambra's economy , we barely generate 20billion naira per year - *Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.*

I extracted the above words from Governor Soludo speeches at his 1year in office celebration and the most recent inauguration of the Board of Internal Revenue Service.

I did that for ndi Anambra to get a clear picture of happenings at the IGR sector and for them to know the target of Governor Soludo administration.

If you want Anambra to be like Lagos, you have to support government by paying your tax.

Under Governor Soludo administration, I will say that notwithstanding the blackmail of those that have been cornering our IGR to their personal pocket that the Governor stopped from milking the State IGR, the State IGR sector has been repositioned for transparency, accountability and better performance in the last 1 year.

The best way we can support Governor Soludo administration transformation agenda is by paying our tax.

If our economy is estimated to be 5 trillion naira, we can do better by ensuring that government gets atleast 2 % of it that is about 120 billion naira per year as tax from us.

I decided to bring to the public domain, the challenges being faced by the IGR sector for ndi Anambra to know that those shouting that Governor Soludo is killing the people of the State with heavy taxation are merely blackmailing him without having any justification to do that.

The Governor has high expectation from the IGR sector and as at today, work is still in progress by managers of the IGR sector to enable them meet up with the Governors expectation.

So far so good, below are the giant strides recorded on the IGR sector.

1) provision of hardware servers at AIRS.

2) installation of same servers alongside long lasting UPS to support the power availability

3) Commenced eventual migration of all tax payers data across all MDAs.

4)Provision and laying of internet optical cable for a provider base station.

5) Network all the offices in Revenue house

6) Powered high speed Internet connection with high bandwidth to improve activities.

7) Provision of a framework and model for the collection and management of the informal sector Revenue for the State.

cool Developed and launched a digital biometric enumeration systems for both the Commercial transport and market revenue in the State with an issuance of a system generated biometrics payer ID.

9) Commenced the Digital payment and collections that is designed to run as a subscription/bouquet model with options of payment available to various operators. This has increased.

10) Creation of three Zonal Tax Authorities one covering each Senatorial zone.

11) Classified Tax Stations under each jurisdiction and assign collection budgets based on its coverage area.

12) Appointed Zonal Tax Authorities who manages all Revenue related business in all the locations.

13) Redesigned and developed an intuitive system for tax payers enumeration using valid data from National identification database.

14) Data Scrub that led to the collection of about 500,000 tax payers valid data.

15) Launch of a digital tax payer enumeration system that includes that commercial transport and market traders. This process brought in over 100, 000 tax payers into the tax net.

16) Created avenue for tax payers to check the status of their tax payment and print Electronic Tax Clearance Certificate.

17) introduced and engaged PSSPs that has agency banking network across that States.

18) In addition to the bank branch which was the only payment channels before Governor Soludo administration, they engaged over 3 more bank agency and increased the payment and collection points to over 5, 000 points across the States via POS/Mobile money agencies.

19) Ensured that instant receipts and evidence of payments are issued immediately payment is done at any location.

20) Engaged Anambra State Health insurance Agency to design a free medical health insurance scheme.

21) The scheme takes a contributory sum of N250 per week from all the compliant commercial transport operators as a fee for their health insurance.

22) An enrolment process/structure opened to every compliant driver at the point of payment of their operational permit. Subsequent qualifications is tied to the payment/subscription of the payment.

23) Designed and developed a digital enforcement app that will be used for the confirmation and validation of payment by the operators.

24) Engaged and trained all the Enforcement agencies of the State on how to use the enforcement app.

25) Reduction of transporters tax rates.
Below is the current rates.

KEKE Weekly 2500
Monthly 10,000

TAXI Weekly 3000
Monthly 12, 000

SHUTTLE Weekly 3000
Monthly 12000

OKADA Weekly 1000
Monthly 4000

MINI TRUCK Weekly 3750
Monthly 15000

URBAN BUS Weekly 3750
Monthly 15000

INTER STATE BUS Weekly 5000, Monthly 20,000

26) Suspension of loading and offloading collection from January 1, 2023 to date all over the State.

From the above reeled out achievements, it's evidently clear that Governor Soludo is repositioning the IGR sector to be able to compete with States like Lagos and Rivers.

It's achievable with our support.

Let's not forget that Governor Soludo is truly delivering dividends of good governance in our beloved State and the only way we can support him to do more for us is by paying our tax.

*The Solution to all our problems is undoubtedly here with us.*

what is the IGR now after this reforms

Obidients you’re watching! “Tinibu can’t be sworn in as president, man cries out as he was dragged out of a boarding flight by security.

Tinibu can’t be sworn in as president” a yet to be identified man cries out as he was being dragged out from a Abuja-Lagos boarding flight by security men.

The yet to be identified passenger was on Friday evening removed from an Ibom Air flight after what appeared to be a strange behavior before take off occurred.

The man who was already in the boarding flight, had got up shouting that on no account should the President elect Bola Tinubu be sworn in as Nigerian president.

The man who started creating a scene with his strange behavior had attracted the attention of other passengers who called for the flight crew to act fast before something unexpected occurred.

The flights attendant had called in some security personnel who then forcibly dragged the man out from the plane.

While he struggled with the security men he kept on shouting that Obidients were looking at him as he was being roughed.

“Obidients, you are watching!” I’m naked, He kept shouting

Before he was finally removed from the plane, he was heard shouting he has a doctorate degree in Law to which some of the passengers mockingly advised him to go to court over the outcome of the election which he happened to a problem with.
