What was/is the reason/s given regarding the illegality of the Universities in TRNC??......if the reason is based on "stolen land"...then, logically all the occupant of land in TRNC including USA embassy, Germany embassy, British embassy, Italian embassy, Denmark embassy and the citizens are ILLEGAL.

My colleague from Cameroon was just issued 2years multiple entry visa to USA (2weeks ago) from US embassy in TRNC and she will be part of research team of a university in Tennessee for 6 months. She left already and she was not returned on arrival in USA that her academic qualification or visa is ILLEGAL.

For me.......am always smiling to the BANKSSSSSSS academically and financially....and if that is what is called ILLEGAL then......I love that!

wip, there are rumours that universities in TRNC are not legal please what do you have to say about this. have read the arguments from both sides and am not convinced. as an alumni of one of these universities, what are your experiences with certificates from university in TRNC.

God bless you. People forget that at the end of the day we are all Nigerians and the president does not lead a section of Nigeria. I remember in 1999 the south west didn't vote Obasanjo, he even lost his own ward, my question is did anyone victimize Yorubas for voting the opposition? Since 1999 igbos have always voted PDP so how did anyone think they will vote otherwise in 2015. Even if igbos don't get senate president or speaker or any ministerial post, that only shows that Nigeria is not ready to develop, because to develop we need a government of national unity not government of ethnic sentiments. Remember APC used to be in opposition.

so what branch of Islam are you? you know Sunnis regard shias as heathen and vice versa. can a sunni muslim pray in an ahmedi mosque? the same way there are sects in Christianity there are numerous sects in Islam. the only difference is Christian observe live and let live while Muslims from one sect believe others should join them or die. hence the wars in the middle east.

some ignorant people have been pointing fingers at the government. they say the government is useless.

first, DSS arrested these brothers and a competent court freed them. remember these guys have Nigerian citizenship and so can't be treated anyhow. they are entitled to a fair hearing. DSS have done their part, it is left for the courts to do their part.

secondly, Nigeria does not have the intelligence capability that the US have. we dont know the source of the US information. The US has intelligence assets all over the world. if the US wants to help Nigeria, what they should have done was to pass info to our DSS agents in order to facilitate their conviction and am guessing they didn't. somebody said the government can influence the judiciary. under our current constitution the judiciary is independent. GEJ is not a despot he always abide by the court rulings even if its detrimental. you can't cherry pick cases. if u want a meddlesome government don't cry foul when the outcome does not favour you.

thirdly, remember these Lebanese brothers and various other families have been living in Nigeria since before independence.

am not absolving the government of any blame. all am saying is fundamental human rights should be observed. the Nigerian government should work hard to find facts linking these brothers to terrorist activities so the courts can jail them with a clean conscience.

A few years back, the shariah police in Kano destroyed truckloads of beer because alcohol is not shara compliant. Am not saying there is an Islamic Agenda but the Muslims have brought this suspicion on themselves. Questions are being asked.

I have always said this Boko Haram menace is bigger that we ever imagined. Chad republic is an ally of both the US and France. France has been known to have designs on African resources. France backed Cameroon during the Bakassi Saga. The oil from the Chadian side of lake chad and northern Cameroon flows through Cameronian ports and mostly operated by French companies. Secondly, during the #bringbackourgirls protests all major western democracy promised to send in troops and intelligence officers to track the missing girls and several months later we haven't heard any news of breakthrough.

My only disappointment is Nigerians have allowed this Boko Haram menace to tear us apart. Instead of closing ranks and unilaterally look for solutions our politicians have made it an election campaign topic. When terrorists attacked WTC Americans from all walks of life came together to face the common enemy. However, this does not absolve the military and their civilian overlords of blame. Nigeria as a country is too big for a country like Chad or Cameroon or even France to mess with. Within west Africa we should be supreme. Teach these guys a lesson that the next person that will try to mess with us will think twice. That's the only way to maintain your territorial integrity and independence.

These SCOAN guys are just having a laugh. In saner climes, the owner of the church would be facing lawsuits worth Billions of Naira. In Nigeria, the reverse is the case, somebody thinks photographing himself carrying 3 bags of rice on his head would make a case of unlawful deaths of dozens of people and negligence go away. Carrying 3 bags of rice and releasing spoof videos will not make the case go away.
