Islam Perspective: The Divinity Of The Holy Spirit https://www.nairaland.com/5919990/islam-perspective-divinity-holy-spirit#90570847 |
The Holy Spirit, for Muslims, is a name for the angel Gabriel (PBUH), and a name for Allah’s (S.W) inspiration and His support for his prophets. The Holy Quran calls the angel Gabriel (PBUH) as the Holy Spirit. Allah (S.W) Says, “Say, the Holy Spirit has brought the revelation from thy Lord in Truth” (Holy Quran 16:102), also, Allah (S.W) says, “Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the son of Mary! Recount My favour to thee and to thy mother. Behold! I strengthened thee with the holy spirit.” (Holy Quran 5:110) In addition, the Holy Quran calls Allah’s (S.W) inspiration to his prophets as Spirit. Allah (S.W) says, “And thus have We, by Our Command, sent inspiration to thee.” (Holy Quran 42:52), He also says, “Raised high above ranks (or degrees), (He is) the Lord of the Throne (of Authority): by His Command doth He send the Spirit (of inspiration) to any of His servants he pleases.” (Holy Quran 40:15) It is important to mention, that what the Holy Quran says about the Holy Spirit is not far from what the Bible says, but it does not agree with the Constantinople Council meaning. The Holy Bible mentions that various creatures hold the name ‘Holy Spirit’: 1. The human spirit, which Allah (S.W) creates in his creations, is Allah’s (S.W) Spirit, which He creates in them. “And to the spirits of the righteous made perfect.” (Heb. 12/23), “ when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. When you send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the ground.” (Psalms 104/29-30) Allah (S.W) gave life to Adam by the same spirit. “and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” (Gen. 2/7). This spirit is called ‘the spirit of Allah (S.W)’ because it came from Allah (S.W), and to Him it will return. “And the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Ecc. 12/7). 2. The inspiration that the angels carry to prophets, “David himself, in the Holy Spirit, declared” (Mark 12/36), also “ And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit” (Luke 1/67), Peter said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David.” (Acts 1/16). Allah (S.W) called the prophets and what they bring of this inspiration as the Holy Spirit, as He said scolding the people of Israel, "You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute?” (Acts 7/51-52) 3. The Holy Spirit is also a name for the aid and wisdom, which Allah (S.W) gives to His prophets and others, and the angels or others can deliver it. Jesus said, “But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons.” (Matt. 12:28) and what Pharaoh said to his servants, when he was looking for a wise man. "Can we find a man like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” (Gen. 41/38) “ Now there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.” (Luke 2/25), also, the Holy Spirit supported the disciples on the fiftieth day “ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2/4). This is the same as what the prophet Haggai said, “My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not.” (Haggai 2/5) 4. The strong wind also called the Holy Spirit. Describing the destroying wind, the Torah says, “The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the LORD blows on it.” (Isaiah 40/7), the same is in Genesis, “ And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” (Gen. 1/2), there is a mistranslation in this passage that leads to this confusion. The passage, as the great critic Espinoza said, ‘means a strong wind came from God, and ceased darkness.’ Moreover, relating the spirit to Allah (S.W) in the last two passages is glorification and esteem, not deifying, as it says, “ The mountains of God” (Psalms 36/6) Those who worship the Holy Spirit do not accept all the meanings that I have mentioned. They do not accept the idea that the Holy Spirit is just a power or angel from Allah (S.W). The Holy Spirit, according to the Christian concept is God, is the third hypostasis of the Trinity. What is the Holy Spirit according to their concept? What evidence do they have for considering him as a God? When did that happen? In 381 C.E, by the order of the Emperor Tedious, the Council of Constantinople formed, to discuss Bishop Macedonius’ belief. He denied the divinity of the Holy Spirit; and he believed what the Holy Books mentioned about him. He believed that, “The Holy Spirit is a divine work spread in the world, not a divine person who is different from the Father and the Son”, and, “He is like all the creations”, and he saw him as a servant of the Son just like one of the angels. One hundred and fifty priests attended this council. These priests decided to deprive Macedonius of his office, and they made one important decision never made by the church councils before, which was deifying the Holy Spirit. They considered him as a complement to the Trinity. They said, “We have no other meaning for the Holy Spirit except the Spirit of God, God is nothing except his life, and saying that the Holy Spirit is a creation, is the same as saying that God is a creation.” Priest Yasin Mansor said, “The Holy Spirit is the eternal God, he existed before the creation, and he is the creator of everything, able to do anything. He is present everywhere, and he is the everlasting and the unlimited”. He also said, “The Holy Spirit is the third hypostasis of the Trinity. He is not just a power or characteristic, but a real self, a living person, and a distinct divine being. He is not separate; he is a divine unit different from the Father and the Son, but equal to them in power and position, sharing with them the basic and the same divinity. Christians refer to John’s Gospel when talking about the divinity of the Holy Spirit: “God is spirit” (John 4/24). They also believe that he is the spirit that existed from the beginning of creation, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1/1-2). Many other passages also mention spirit, God spirit, or the Holy Spirit. How To Wash A Dead Muslim https://www.muslimhowto.com/2020/03/how-to-wash-dead-muslim.html |
Washing the dead is an important aspect of Islam. It’s obligatory for Muslims to wash their dead before putting them in the grave . Below are what needs to be done to wash a dead Muslim. 1. Close The Eyes of the Dead When death is confirmed, the eyes of the dead should be closed and jaws should be tied shut. 2. The Awrah Should Be Covered While washing the body, the ‘ Awrah should be covered, body should be slightly raised and stomach is lightly pressed to get the waste out of it. Then the person who washes, wraps his/her hands with a wash cloth or the like, to clean the expelled remains from the dead’s stomach. Then the washer should wash the dead as in Wudhu (ablution) for the Salaat (obligatory prayer). The head and beard is washed with water and Sidr (Lote tree leaves) or soap, and the right side of the body is washed before the left side. The body can be re-washed three times, with the last one requiring plain water. Each time the stomach should be pressed. If there is any excretion, it should be washed and the anus should be covered with cotton or the like. If it does not work then use plain earth or any medical material such as plaster, then wash the dead again as in Wudhu. If the washer feels that three washes are not enough to clean the body properly, then he can wash five or seven times. The body should be dried with a clean cloth and some perfume should be applied to the hidden parts of the body and the sujood parts. It would be better to apply wood perfume (‘oud) to the entire body of the dead and to the coffin. The washer can clip the fingernails, and trim the mustache of the dead, but should not comb the hair. If the dead is a female, then her hair can be groomed in three plaits and placed behind the back. 3. Shroud the body of the dead (Kafn.) It is better to shroud the dead man’s body in three white pieces of cloth without using a shirt or turban. The three pieces should be rolled up together. It doesn’t matter if the dead body is shrouded in a shirt, waist-sheet or a wrap. The woman is shrouded in five pieces of cloth; a loose piece of cloth (dir), a veil, a waist-sheet and two wraps. The body is shrouded in one to three pieces of cloth. A young female is shrouded in a shirt and two wraps. 4. Close Relations are Entitled to Wash the Dead People who are more entitled to wash the dead man and pray for him and bury him are his male guardians e.g. father, the closest kin and so forth. Similarly female guardians are more entitled to wash a dead female i.e. the mother, grandmother, closest female relatives, etc., The husband or wife can wash the dead spouse, in the same way that the dead body of Abu Bakr (r.a.) was washed by his wife. Ali (r.a.) on the other hand, washed the body of his wife Fatima (r.a.) on her death. SOURCE: https://www.muslimhowto.com/2020/03/how-to-wash-dead-muslim.html |
How To Cure Masturbation Addiction In Islam https://www.nairaland.com/5918262/how-cure-masturbation-addiction-islam |
Masturbation is a forbidden act in Islam. Several verses in the Quran, Hadith as well as scholars of knowledge have invalidated such an immoral act. Below are verses from the Quran "And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." Quran 23.5-7. These verses above plainly forbid all unlawful sexual acts (including masturbation) apart from the wives or that their right hand possesses. And whoever goes further than that is the transgressor. Also read: Is Watching Porn/Blue Film Haram in Islam? "And let those who find not the financial means for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah enriches them of His bounty." Quran 24:33 This verse also obviously commands whoever lacks financial means to marry to keep himself pure and be patient in tackling temptations awaiting Allah’s reward. According to an authentic narration of The Prophet (peace be upon him): Narrated 'Alqama: While I was walking with 'Abdullah he said, "We were in the company of the Prophet and he said, 'He who can afford to marry should marry, because it will help him refrain from looking at other women, and save his private parts from looking at other women, and save his private parts from committing illegal sexual relation; and he who cannot afford to marry is advised to fast, as fasting will diminish his sexual power." - Volume 3, Book 31, Number 129 The narration instructs men who are not capable to get married to fast regardless of the difficulty faced in doing so, and desist masturbate despite the comfort with which it can be done. In order to cure masturbation addiction, we at Muslimhowto compiled the following suggestions: 1. The intention to seek the cure of masturbation addiction should be entirely to obey Allah's command and fearing His punishment. 2. An everlasting and rapid cure from masturbation addiction is to marry as previously discussed in the above Hadith. 3. Actively engaging oneself with what is beneficial for this Duniya (world) and the akhira (hereafter) is indispensable in breaking this habit of masturbation before it turns you into something else. 4. Lowering the gaze will aid and kill the want of masturbation before it leads one to commit the sin. It’s obligatory on Muslim to lower their gaze based on the following below verses. "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is all-aware of what they do. And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.)…" Quran 24 vs 30-31 Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: The Prophet said, "Beware! Avoid sitting on he roads (ways)." The people said, "There is no way out of it as these are our sitting places where we have talks." The Prophet said, "If you must sit there, then observe the rights of the way." They asked, "What are the rights of the way?" He said, "They are the lowering of your gazes (on seeing what is illegal to look at), refraining from harming people, returning greetings, advocating good and forbidding evil." - Volume 3, Book 43, Number 645 5. Manage your spare time in worshiping Allaah and increasing religious knowledge. 6. Shun the delusion that some people have that masturbation is allowed in Islam because it stops them from committing unlawful sexual intercourse or fornication. 7. Building one's determination and avoiding being alone most time as advised by the Prophet (Pbuh) when he said "Do not spend the night alone" Ahmad 6919. 8. Abide by the Prophets above-mentioned hadith and fast when possible, because fasting will calm a person sexual wishes and remain under control. Though, one should not exaggerate and swear by Allah not to come back to masturbation because if one does not stick to ones promise, one would be dealing with the penalty of not living up to ones promise to Allah. Moreover, be aware that taken drugs or pills to reduce one's sexual wish is prohibited in Islam since it may possibly or permanently have an effect on one's sexual ability. 9. Try hard to be patient, faithful, and diligence, Insha’Allaah, will guide one to achieving those qualities as second nature, as the Messenger of Allah (Pbuh) clarifies in the following hadith: "Whoever seeks chastity Allaah will make him chaste, and whoever seeks help from none but Allaah, He will help him, and whoever is patient He will make it easy for him, and no one has ever been given anything better than patience." Bukhari:1469. 10. Regret and seek forgiveness from Allaah, doing good deeds, and do not despair of my mercy of Allah are all fundamental to curing masturbation addiction. Be reminded that giving up hope in Allah is a major sin in Allah. 11. Lastly, Allah is the Most Merciful and He always answers to whoever demands anything from Him. Hence, seeking Allah's pardon and pity will be accepted, by His will. Allah knows best. Guidelines On Shaking Hands With Non-Mahram https://www.nairaland.com/5600534/guidelines-shaking-hands-non-mahram |
Shaking hands when meeting and giving ‘Taslim’ (As-Salam ‘Alaykum) is part of the etiquette of Islam and from good morals. It is an expression of love between the two who shake hands, as it dispels sins, hatred, rancor, and grudges among the Muslims. In a tradition, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “there are no two Muslims who meet and shake hands with one another but they will be forgiven before they depart.” (Abu Dawud) Hence shaking hands during meetings Is an established tradition among the companions of the Holy Prophet. It is allowed for Muslims to shake hands with Muslims and non-Muslims of the same gender when greeting, however, prohibited with non-Mahram men and women. The evidence for this is the narration by Ma’gil Ibn Yassar, who reported the Prophet (peace be upon him) to have said: “for one of you to be stabbed in the head with iron needle is better for him than he should touch a woman who is not permissible for him. (Narrated by At-Tabaraani in Al-Kabeer grade as saheeh by Albani). It was narrated that Ummaya the daughter of Raqeeqah said: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “I do not shake hands with women.” (An-nasaa’I and Ibn Majah). When the Prophet (peace be upon him) took a pledge of allegiance, which was originally given by hand, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not shake women’s hands. It was narrated from Urwah that Aisha (RA) told him about women’s oath of allegiance. The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never touched any woman with his hand. He would explain to the women what the oath of allegiance implies and when she accepted, he would say: “go, for you have given your oath of allegiance”. (Muslim) So the prevalent practice of shaking hands with non Mahrams should be avoided by Muslims. It is so painful to see Muslims ignore this ruling and do what they wish. We find Muslims using phrases like “faith (Iman) is in the heart”. It is of great sadness as the Prophet (peace be upon him) never practiced such and has warned the Ummah of its dire consequences. source: https://www.muslimhowto.com/2019/10/guidelines-on-shaking-hands-with-non-Mahram.html |
Terrorism: Between Jihad And Political Violence https://www.nairaland.com/5600523/terrorism-jihad-political-violence#85243520 |
The act of terror or terrorism has its history evident as far back as the early days of man on earth. This was argued by so many scholars of social science especially the social contract theorist ‘Thomas Hobbes’ (1588-1679AD). This was captured in his argument about “the state of Nature” while presenting his social contract theory of the origin of the state. “Man is the state of nature was in perpetual fear, every man was enemy to every man in a war dominated society and men were lawless and anarchical. Life was solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and smart.” (Hobbes 1651) This argument of terror in the early days of man were better revealed to mankind some fourteen hundred years ago in the Qur’an. Allah says: “So the Nafs (soul) of the other encourage him and made fear seeming to him the murder of his brother, he murdered him and became of the losers” Q(5:30) Abdullahi narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “None (no human) is killed or murdered, but a part of the responsibility for the crime is led on the first son of Adam who invented the tradition of killing (unjustly) on the earth. (Sahih Al-Bukhari Vol 9; no 6). Sanctity of Human Life in Islam In condemning the action of the son of Prophet Adam (A.S) (which is murder), Allah says: “Because of that, we ordained for the children of Israel that if anyone kills a person not in retaliation of murder, or to spread mischief in the land – it will be as if he kills all mankind, and if anyone save a life, it will be as if he saved the life of all mankind…” Q(5:22) Anas bin Malik narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “The biggest of Al Kabaa’ir (grievous sin) is Shirk, murder, to be undutiful to ones parent and to make a false statement and to give a false witness” (Bukhari Vol 9, no 10) Empirically, the Islamic religion happens to be the only religion out of the world religions that hold with esteem, the life of a human. A soul in the Islamic creed equivalent to the whole of humanity as revealed by Allah (swt) in the above verse indicating that Islam does not accommodate the killing of a soul exce[t for Shari established reasons. Anas bin Malik educates us further on the magnitude of murder where many scholars of Tafsir ranked in the second highest crime in the sight of Allah after “Shirk” as sighted above. So, How is Terrorism-Related to Islam? Jihad in Islam The word or concept of Jihad was been made popular by the West especially Orientalists and mostly misunderstood by the rest of the world as Muslims’ declaration of war against non-Muslims, especially Christians. “Holy War”, a phrase that is strange to Islam, coined and presented by the West to mean Jihad. The Arabic word ‘Jihad’ literally means ‘struggling’ or ‘striving’. It is applicable to any effort put in place by anyone. A student in University engages in Jihad as he struggles to pass his examinations, the lecturers also strive (jihad) to meet up with their responsibilities as lecturers and the farmer also does jihad on his farm so as to get a good harvest and so on. Allah (swt) says: As for those who strive hard (do jihad) in our cause, we will surely guide them to our paths and verily, Allah is with the Muhsinuun (good doers)” Q(29:69) It was reported that one of the companions of Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) told his army when they returned from military camping that: “We have returned from a minor jihad (war) to the major jihad (self-control and betterment)”. The above verses and many of the likes have shown that jihad is not interpreted as war only, even though it could mean it since it is a form of struggle. Terrorism: Jihad or Political Violence Even though terrorism is an age-old phenomenon or act as argued earlier, it was only made popular when the West held onto it as an instrument of “Islamophobia”. The West through America and their well-oiled media instrument have subliminally conditioned the mind of the World (Muslims and non-Muslims alike) to believe that terrorism is jihad by creating, sponsoring and promoting terrorist groups in Islamic states like al-Qaeda, al-Shabab, Taliban, ISIS, etc. Literally, terrorism is any form of politically motivated violence directed again non-combatant public and designed to instill fear in a target audience (Viotti and Kauppi). Terrorism just like many other concepts has no internationally accepted definition. However in spite of this disparity in opinions, there exist some common elements such as political orientation, attack on civilian population and infrastructure, etc. Who is a Jihadist? The jihad is outrightly struggle for the sake of Allah (swt). A ‘Jihadist’ is that person that strives with the hope of getting a reward from Allah (swt). Allah says: “(Verily the number of months with Allah is twelve (12) months, so was it ordained by Allah on the day when He created the Heaven and the earth. Of them four (4) are sacre. That is the right religion, so wrong not yourselves therein and strive against the Mushrikuun collectively as the strive against you collectively. But know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaquun” Q(9:36) Jihad Is The Last Resort The essence of Jihad is never to kill or eliminate the non-Muslims neither is it aimed at intimidating anybody; unlike the terrorist. This is why the Islamic creed has provided guidelines on the relations between Muslims and non-Muslims, indicating that a Muslim and non-Muslim can live under the same roof or shade. Hence, Jihad is the last resort and the Muslim must not start a war but have the obligation of defending themselves and Islam. Abu Al-Bakhari narrated that an army of the Muslim, whose commander was Salman Al-farisi besieged one of the castles of Persia. They said ‘O Abdullah! Should we charge them? He said: Leave me to call them (to Islam) as I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) called them, so Salman went to call them to Islam or they should keep their religion and pay Jizyah, and that if they resist, we are equally going to resist you. They said: We will not pay but will fight you instead. (Tirmidhi 1548). Lastly, while terrorism is carried out by a mostly small group of people or government, Jihad on the other hand is only called on or declared by the leader of Islamic caliphate (Khilaafah). source: https://www.muslimhowto.com/2019/11/terrorism-between-jihad-and-political-violence.html

The Islamic Perspective On Feminism https://www.nairaland.com/5600474/islamic-perspective-feminism#85242693 |
The whole concept of feminism revolves around the belief that women should have equal rights as men. It is a political movement fighting for the equality of men and women in all aspects of life. Before going further I would like to refer to chapter 4:34 of the Quran which says: “Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) form their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband’s property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.” This means that the responsibility of protecting and maintaining women lies on men as their superiors. Feminists argue that legal and social restrictions on women must be removed in order to bring such equality. This brings us to the question ‘what are those restrictions put on women?’ among these said restrictions is that of inheritance that a male’s portion is equal to that of two females. There is no doubt that Islam fights for the freedom of women. Also Read: Is Camel Hump Hijab Style Haram? Let’s check with history. Before the advent of Islam, women were not values in society. They were treated like slaves and sex slaves. Whoever gave birth to a female child saw it as bad luck and had to bury the child alive. Women were denied their rights and had no right to inherit. They were also properties to be inherited. With the advent of Islam, these practices were wiped away. Women were given the right to inherit; the practice of burying women alive was stopped. Islam raised the status of women and women became valuable and precious in society. On the other hand, Islam did justice by making the share of a male equal the share of two females in inheritance. This is because men are burdened with greater responsibilities than women. Women themselves are among the responsibilities of men. So, the responsibilities of men cannot be compared with that of women. Here Islam did justice, not equality. Another said the restriction is that of dress code and that of limiting women’s movement. Feminists see it as oppression; to make women cover their bodies with the Hijab and to limit their movements. But the fact to be considered is that if something is precious to a person, he protects and safeguards it. The same way Islam protects and safeguards women through the Hijab because women are precious. Regarding the limitation of movement, people don’t take their values everywhere, the same with women; they aren’t supposed to be roaming about anyhow. A study was conducted in a 2013 poll of 585 randomly selected adults from six Nigerian geopolitical zones by NOI polls, 34% answered ‘Who do you think is the most prevalent cause of rape in the society?’ with ‘indecent dressing’. 29% said they personally knew a victim of rape (Wikipedia). Although a woman considered indecently dressed is not an invitation to rape, women are made to cover and stay safe in Islam. Furthermore, regarding women with jobs, the most recommended jobs for women are jobs like nursing, catering, teaching, business, and several others. Stressful jobs like bricklaying, construction work are not recommended for women because a woman is not meant to go through such stress. Time-consuming jobs are also not recommended. This is because a woman who is very committed to work will have no time for her responsibilities as a wife and mother. Islam does not oppress women, rather; fights, provides for and cares for women’s freedom, comfort and wellbeing. source: https://www.muslimhowto.com/2019/10/islamic-perspective-on-feminism.html

What Islam Says About Pre-marital Medical Examination https://www.nairaland.com/5554620/what-islam-says-pre-marital-medical#84450373 |
by Imam Suleiman Alabi Yusuf, Phd. All praise belongs to Allah (swt), May Allah continue to shower his blessings and peace on our Noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) his household, his companions all those who follow them with righteousness till the day of resurrection. Be informed that authentic legal marriage is the basics of establishing a righteous family and building a noble and righteous community. Islam has already guided us to what should be done the moment we intend to marry or get married and how to select a spouse. Based on the fact that every human being is composed of spiritual and physical structures, we are supposed to be concerned about those two components and keep balance in their maintenance at all times in all circumstances. Unfortunately, we find ourselves in a very challenging modern age which compels all of us to be concerned about conducting medical tests in order to verify the status of our blood group, genotype, pregnancy test, and HIV which leads to AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome). People nowadays fear them much more than hellfire prepared by Allah as punishment for His disobedient servants. As a result of this deteriorating health condition of the people, these days, some imams and Muslim leaders have decreed that premedical examinations should be conducted for men and women who intend to get married and the result should be presented before the marriage could be solemnized and supported. Islam as a complete way of life always encourages what is beneficial and discourages what is harmful, and as such as not in any way against the prevention which is always better and cheaper than cure. The major concern should be about the spiritual aspect of life in the first place by following the tradition of our Noble Prophet (peace be upon him). When seeking for marriage the basic condition of marriage should be adhered to, followed by applying the Sunni method of seeking divine guidance on marriage before taking any decision. In addition to that, the sincerity of purpose mutual agreement, paying of dowry and privacy between the would-be couple after contracting the marriage, not before it! Other matters are considered as secondary. Servant of Allah! Indeed, there is no problem in doing medical test for a couple before contracting marriage in line with Allah’s injunctions. Allah (swt) say: “…And do not cast yourselves into destruction…” Q(2:195) And Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) says: “Carefully select for your semen because blood will tell” That means what is bred in the bone will come out in the flesh. Due to the significance of blood in human body, mankind is supposed to be seeking Allah’s protection against shaitan, so that they would not fall into his trap, because he is a clear enemy to mankind. Allah’s Messenger (peace be upon him) says: “Indeed shaitan flows in human body like blood”. However, physical features should not be our area of concentration at the expense of spiritual fitness and well-being. We have seen fellow Muslims on different occasions that were solely after blood tests before marriage without paying much or any attention to spiritual matters like the Sunni method of seeking divine guidance, legitimate prayers on marriage, abstinence from unlawful sexual intercourse before the marriage contract. Some people think once the parents of their would-be brides are aware of their relationship and have no objection to it, they can start having affairs whereas the marriage is still at the state of courtship or introduction. Moreover, to concentrate on the issue of genotype at the expense of other issues is against Islamic teachings according to my view. It is very unfortunate and sorrowful to see people telling lies about their genotypes or HIV/AIDS status because they are desperate about getting married. Some even go to the extent of producing fake results and at the end, the truth will be revealed, the whole exercise will collapse. What a shame on a Muslim to be found in this kind of dubious act! May Allah (swt) save us and overlook our lapses. Servants of Allah! We really need to be educated on genotype and other matters, so that we can avoid what is avoidable. According to the experts, the following results are to be considered concerning genotype: 1. AA versus AA = EXCELLENT 2. AA versus AS = GOOD 3. AS versus AS = BAD 4. AS versus SS = VERY BAD 5. SS versus SS = EXTREMELY BAD, DON’T TRY IT! Concerning blood group/type, O+ is the most common, followed by A+, B+, AB+, O-, A-, B-, AB-. We all need to be educated on blood group compatibility to avoid blood crisis when there is a need for blood transfusion. May Allah protect all of us and grant us success in both worlds. source https://www.muslimhowto.com/2019/11/what-islam-says-about-pre-marital-medical-exam.html

Why Playing Dice Game Is Haram In Islam https://www.nairaland.com/5412967/why-playing-dice-game-haram |

There is no distinction between him and all the other Prophets of God (i.e. Nuh, Abraham, Moses, Muhammad, etc.) Jesus said: "I am indeed a slave of God. He has given me the Book and made me a Prophet; and He has enjoined upon me prayers, and to pay the alms, as long as I live and (He has made me) kind to my mother, and He has not made me insolent, unblessed. And may Peace be upon me the day I was born, and the Day I die, and on the Day I shall be raised to life." (Quran 19:30-33) 2. They said: We desire to eat of it and our hearts be at rest, and that We may know that you have spoken truth to us, and that We may be witnesses thereof. Jesus, son of Mary, said: Jesus, son of Mary, prayed, “O Allaah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread with food as a feast for us—the first and last of us—and as a sign from You. Provide for us! You are indeed the Best Provider.” (Quran 5:112-114) 9. Jesus (AS) Was Not Crucified The Quran rejects the idea that Jesus (AS) was crucified and killed, but rather God had saved him. And for their saying (in boast), "Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allaah ." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. You have to know the reason why you are going to be fasting. Are you fasting for the sake of people or Allah (swt)? If you can be able to specify these reasons, then one can predict how your Ramadan will be. A Muslim should fast for the sake of Allah alone; it is Allah Who would accept your fasting, not your parent, friends or anyone. Are You Medically Capable Most Muslim neglect to know if they are medically fit to fast in the month Ramadan, which can contribute positively or negatively to their health. It is advisable to visit a medical doctor to run a test for you to check whether you are capable to fast or not. There are certain illnesses that are not advisable for someone who has been diagnosed with to fast, such as, ulcer, diabetes, as well as a pregnant and nursing mother. If you are diagnosed with any of the above illness, we advise you to stay away from fasting. But you can continue some other time when you are finally qualified to fast. “…and whoever is sick or upon a journey, then (he shall fast) a (like) number of other days; Allah desire ease for you, and He does not desire for you difficulty...” [Quran: Al-Baqara 2: 185] Frequent Quran Reading Allah revealed the Quran in the holy month of Ramadan, which is why it is important for a Muslim to increase in the habit of frequently reading the Qur’an. “The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month…” [Quran: Al-Baqara 2: 185] Seek For Allah Forgiveness Nobody is perfect. We all made mistakes and commits sins at one point in our life. That is why it is obligatory to seek forgiveness from Allah and seize the month of Ramadan to be more engaging in repentance to Allah and those whom we might have wrong. If you have taken something that does not belong to you, return it. If you have offended someone, go to them and ask for their forgiveness. Be in haste to amend your ways and stop any habits that Allah prohibits us. Say: “O Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [Quran 39:53] Give Charity Zakat (or charity) is the third pillar of Islam which involves providing for the needy. There are countless of Muslim who are poor and starving, use this Ramadan to be of help and provide for them, so, they too, can obtain from the virtues of fasting. No amount is small to give for charity. Below are a few ways of providing charity to receive Allah’s mercy: Provision of a meal at sahur and iftar (breaking fast). Provision of equipment for tafsir (lecture). Distribute free Quran Organize or host Islamic Lectures Help clean the mosque Pray Tahajjud During The Last Ten Days Of Ramadan Tahajjud is a night prayer in Islam which is voluntary. But for someone who seeking Allah’s mercy and bounty should perform it, most especially in the last ten days of Ramadan. One among these last ten nights was the first verses of the Quran were revealed (known as Laytul Qadr – the night of degree) to Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and anyone who witness this night, all their sins will be forgiven, and their duas (supplications) will be accepted. Below are verses from the Quran as well as authentic Hadiths about the importance of waking for tahajjud during the last ten days of Ramadan: The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn. [Quran 97:3-5] Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: “Whoever stands (in the voluntary night of) Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. And whoever spends the night of Lailat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” [Sunan an-Nasa’I 5027] Narrated by Aisha: with the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet (SAW) used to tighten his waist belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers. [Sahih al-Bukhari 2024] Limit Excess Eating, And Stop Food Wasting Due to few hours of hungriness people pass through few hours of fasting, so, when it is time for breaking the fast many Muslim consumed an excess of food, which may lead to weight gaining and often obesity. Do not eat beyond the point of fullness, immediately you know you are full, stop eating. In case the food remains, keep it for other time or give it out to those who need it. Ramadan should not be the time of food wasting but should be a time of food sharing. “And eat and drink but waste not by extravagance, certainly He (Allah) likes not Al-Musrifun (those who waste by extravagance)” The Prophet (SAW) said:”I warn you in relation to eating too much because surely this act poisons the heart by making it hard (no emotional feelings), and makes your body parts lazy and lethargic in relation to obedience of Allah, and it deafens the ears from hearing advice and good counsel. I warn you in relation to looking around with inquisitiveness because surely this act excites your desires and gives birth to negligence.” Source: https://www.muslimhowto.com/2019/04/how-to-have-amazing-ramadan-fasting.html
