Ekiti state first lady, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has come to the aid of a 105-year-old woman who was abandoned by her relatives and friends who labelled her as a witch after losing her three children. A Facebook user, Zara Onyinye, who posted the story on her timeline said since the unnamed old woman lost her children over 30 years ago, her relatives abandoned her with "no shelter, no food". Onyinye, however, the old woman's story changed on Thursday, August 1, when Ekiti state first lady gave her "succor". Ghanaian woman, who has been married for the past 20 years without a child, has been blessed with five babies (quintuplets). The 45-year-old known as Maame Cynthia welcomed her bundle of joy, two girls and three boys at Sam-J Specialist Hospital at Haatso, Accra in Ghana. The babies were conceived through in-vitro fertilisation. Maame Cynthia revealed how two of her impatient husbands divorced her due to her inability to conceive but that, she stressed, did not deter her from hoping to celebrate the fruit of her womb. This time the sect members demonstrated along Aguyi Ironsi Street in the Maitama District of Abuja. They chanted their usual songs demanding the release of their sheikh Ibrahim Elzakzaky who has been in detention since December 2015. Recall that a similar protest was held yesterday Tuesday in Abuja which turned violent. The protest caused a set back to vehicular traffic while offices in the area shut their gates. Business executive, Tonye Cole narrated an incident he witnessed on a plane between renowned writer Wole Soyinka and a Nigerian man. Tonye Cole said Mr Wole Soyinka got on the plane and took the window seat. When the young man assigned the seat boarded, he insisted Mr Soyinka leaves his seat. Others on the plane, including the crew members, begged the young man to let the Nobel Laureate have his seat. But the man insisted on sitting where he was assigned. Mr Cole said this is an indication that our value system has been eroded and youths no longer have repect for elders.
