I do not think its a special rate. The 1.5% is only their commission and if you add all charges including VAT it comes up to about 2.335-2.5% depending if it's sell or buy.
Still not clear if the portfolio size matters.
I wonder what other Afrinvest customers have experienced.

About the UBA Stockbroking, am still not sold on them even though I use their NRN services. I am now trying to evaluate
Skye global and their PSL subsidiary excellent online tools, fidelity diaspora and fidelity union-again good online account access, Diamond reach and diamond securities( probably not considering people's experiences here) and finally PHB diaspora and their PHB capital.

I am hoping to find a better seamless product than UBA especially stockbroking aspect particularly good online access, online buy/sell orders, online access to CSCS account.

Will update as I find out. It appears having more than one broker is needed to be ahead in the nuances of our NSE.

I've been charged 1.5% since the new June fee schedule even for small purchases. So I think it is the porfolio size but I might be wrong probably better to get confirmation via email with them.

To use the UBA NRN, just use the named beneficiary option online transfer menu and choose the branch of UBA you want the money sent to. The person the goes to the stated branch with ID and transfer details to get the money.

Has any body tried to sent money to their accounts here from a Naija dorm account?. It is always easy to send home but will be interesting if transfer out is as advertised?

This is my first post here but have been reading them regularly. I have the UBA NRN since this year and I use Afrinvest, ARM discovery funds, IBTC funds. So far, UBA is okay but their COT, and other charges na wa!but they seem at the time to be the only place to let me send money to someone without a UBA account online. I have because of their charges not funded the dorm account and savings which they keep bothering me to do. Personally, I wished GTB has a diaspora offering as they seem to be the best customer service bank from experiences my spouse has had banking with them from here (usa). I have transferred funds to all the above without incident. Afrinvest so far alright, always could do with more prompt executions.
The situation might improve with the broker recapitalizations as the bank affiliated ones will hopefully offer a one stop seamless shop for everything. Hope to hear more of other peoples experiences like diamond, oceanic, fidelity, phb all have diaspora products.
