I have one ex girlfriend who is an Igbo. We dated for some time while in University of Ibadan before she Japa. I really can't deal with the realities of a long distance relationship, my love languages are physical touch and time 😂 . So I ended it peacefully with conditions tho.

That's not the gist!

There was a time we went to eat at Amala Skye at Bodija in Ibadan. She ate too much and I ended up spending beyond budget😒. I jokingly called her "Gbewiri". Since then, anytime she wants to abuse me in yoruba, she would say Gbewiri even without knowing the meaning.😂

It's 3 years already and she still hasn't forgotten the word 'Gbewiri.' Last weekend, I missed her call and called back, with my phone on loudspeaker because I was busy with mum in the kitchen. When she picked, guess the first thing she said?😂

Gbewiri, where did you put your phone before " 😂. My mum heard and was shocked like Gbewiri? As how?🙄

I told her, “my mum is here and now that you've called me gbewiri in her presence, she's not happy that someone is calling her son such a name”.

She said haa Babe I'm sorry, is it a derogatory word? Wait, what does it mean sef? So I told her it means "Ole as in Thief" 😂😂! She laughed and said haa, mummy, I'm sorry ma, I was joking.

The three of us laughed and my mum jokingly said "tor Michael, kilo ji o" meaning "what did you steal from her". She replied mummy please ask him o, he knows very well what I'm talking about 😂. My mum said "Olorun a bayin yanju e" meaning "God will help both of you settle it "

We just laughed and I moved away from my mum as we continued talking. She said I didn't know your mum was there o 😂 but you know you're a thief right? I asked what I stole and she said you're still asking? She said okay let me sing one song by 2face Idibia to give you some clue. She started singing,

"I am calling you Ole, coz you stole my heart away, coz I gave all my life to you", my laughter cut in and I said ohh 😂😂😂, you mean the keys to the room are still with me? Aren't you kidding? As big as Southy is?

She said look, this isn't why I called initially but I guess it's a good time to tell you I still love you and hoping that you'd come back to mama soon. My head started swelling, so this fine lady is still loving me all the way from South Africa? Am I that nice? 😂

I told her that I still have feelings too, but I can't do LDR. That's my challenge. And if you remember the condition I gave you when I ended things, it was: 'If you come back to Nigeria or I move to South Africa, as long as neither of us is married, I'm open to rekindling this affair.

At this point, her voice suddenly changed, ridden with emotion, and she vulnerably asked, 'So, how do we make this work? I have completed my program and I work full time now, I can support financially so you can move here. She added "please don't say no" baby 😭😭

As a defense, I quickly responded, 'No, it's not even about the money. I have some things I'm working on in Nigeria for now ( Me that doesn't have shishi😂). I just had to protect my masculine ego because what nonsense is my Jero working on in Nigeria? 😂😂

She started saying there are opportunities here, and when we are married, our kids will..she paused and said sorry I'm becoming too forward 🥰! I said it's okay let me renew my passport and we take it from there! So what's your initial reason for calling o lover girl?😂

She said that's true o, I stumbled on your post on IG about the Farm estate in Ido, Ibadan. So I was discussing it with my friends over here yesterday. Would you be available to enlighten us about it better? We could schedule a meeting via google meet at a convenient time. Oh that’s so thoughtful of you baby 😍.
