lovala: @All: Those channels are paid channels and exist within multichoice bouquet. You know the rest.
@Lovala, for once i disagree with you. this tp was fta in 2010 for a few months and now its free again. as i post this the channels are still there and they are gonna be there for a while. at least until they iron out the issue of the dvbt2 license in the region. this channels are not on BB BOUQUET

olenyi: It's really looking like oromiya tv is now the new heavyweight in FTA matches. (Has the added advantage of being very easy to track with the smallest of dishes). And to think they showed UCL tuesday match yesterday and in ENGLISH !!!

Lets hope they keep it up.

Regards.
Oromia didn't disappoint, they aired the barca match as expected. On a score of 1-10 i would give the pic quality 3 out of 10. it was vcd quality and would freeze occasionally while the sound stream would continue uninterupted. Audio quality i give 6 out of 10 as it was 2seconds ahead of the action.

freshp: Now yours like Us here is one peculiar funny case...we receive virtually all your stations here in nigeria...hmm wait a minute . .i hope its not an inter country conspiracy thing grin grin grin
The rest of Africa has to emulate Tanzania, they have all their channels on 904@64°e. Kenyan channels are scattered from east to west. sayare @75°e, ntv, qtv, citizen @902°e, citizen feed on 68.5°e, k24, kbc @57°e, family tv on amos@17°e and ktn@5°e.

freshp: My brother ,
the situation is so tiresome ..imagine all our west and east african brothers having their stations beaming to them and receivable with as low as 60m dishes....while we here in nigeria have to go the extra mile to receive our own channels...and they even allow third party vendors to sell what should be free to us . .what kind of country are we in. huh huh huh DAMN FRUSTRATING IF I MUST SAY!!!
same case here bro. our kenyan channels are scattered all over and you need 1.8 m dish to get a stable cband signal.

at this point in time, anyone who has been fta for quite sometime knows a trick or two on how to watch scrambled channels, i hacked just pointed the direction on how to watch without internet and dongles. technology is growing by leaps and bounds every day but that is not reason enough to stand on the rooftop and shout. to the wannabes who want to get there, just use your favorite search engine and search in other forums and you wont be disappointed. the information you are looking for is just a click away. happy hunting everyone.

lovala: Very very very simple answer here. Check all the satellites carrying similar programs like BB that extend over our continent and you'll see that they veer clear off our sub region for ONE and only ONE reason. BB!!!! You like it or not, that's how it is and will always be. Yes, AB7 is trying to test the waters, but I can bet my last CFA that tps carrying enjoyable english programs found on MENA will never find themselves on the west african beam. Why, you ask? Because of BB, again.
soon and very soon, bb will be history. will keep you posted.
sophiemore peace all all over. one love

In all villages across Africa we have markets where people come to trade. In every market place in we have the local mad man whom residents have learnt to ignore no matter what they do. Members please ignore our mad man in the forum and continue with the good work.

odilibe:
All the same ses 4/nss14 will replace nss7 at 22deg west, enabling nss7 to move to a new orbital position, it seems like west-africa beam has been extended down to zambia, kenya, congo, tanzania ,this will allow canalsat to extended coverage, however this satellite won't make much difference. undecidedon the other hand it seems like south africa KU beam was ommited on SES 4 unlike NSS7 .
Although the nss14 beam looks promising to our region i don't think there is much to salivate about if their fta content will be in french. What Africa south of the equator needs is fta channels in english.

obnelly:
This is my Locally fabricated multi lnb holder showing 5 in 1 set up.It has the ability to move left or right,up and down ,back and forth and side ways .I will call it universal satellites lnb holder.Presently is aligned to w4/7,astra 28e,w6 21.6,w3c 16e and sirus 4.8 and it can work in any part of Africa.on 50-100cm dish.Note the bigger the better your signal but presently I get up to 73,55 and 60% on most satellites .you too can give it a trial.just think and fabricate .dont wait for anybody to do it for you.If i can yes you too can.
All this on a 90cm antenna, unbelivable but seeing is beliving, more grease to your elbow obnelly, you are truly a trail brazer. This shows that it can be done, its possible without the fancy expensive lnb holders. cheers my bro.

Brite02:
yesterday night when PHCN brought light my srt 699XII power plug was connected to my extension, as soon as plug in my extension cable to d wall socket mehn i heard a funny sound(more like a spark). now my decoder refuses to ON, i guess power section in my decoder is burnt, but i'll be taking it to an electrician. am saying this so that if you are one of those like me who careless when nepa takes light and you refuse to unplug your power cable of your receiver, then you will learn the hard way, thank you.
Hi Brite02, sorry to learn about your srt69xii. please consider investing in surge protection equipment to cover you prescious satellite gear. remember the old adage that says protection is better than cure

Lunsat:
I hear you GeargeD. It boggles my mind why anyone in west, north or East Africa would want to be on the dark side. You have nilesat 201, 101, AB7, Yahsat and a certain astra ABD which only shines on that side. With a big dish you can even get hotbird. But with us further down south of the equarter we only have religious and music channels here. The choice is either BB or the dark side.
lunsat, guys in europe have elavated the dark side of fta into an art and yet they have lots of freebies on multiple satellites which have very strong beams on their continent. With us here in Africa we're just begining to scratch the surface of the dark side and believe you me its going to be the next big thing as more and more of our people learn there is a cheaper alternative to BB's cruel and discriminatory exploitation. i guess we can call everyone in the dark side SINFULL SAINTS as we are not there by choice.
