Being a chairman of a company comes with lots of things including many years of experiences. A chairman is elected by the board of directors of a company to oversee the company and tomorrow he might still be sacked. Being a chairman of a company doesn't mean that you are the owner of the company.

A representative of major shareholders is not necessarily the company owner. Other non executive directors could own larger shares than him but he is the one they choose to represent them
