Tragedy struck Kogi State yesterday as the convoy of Governor Wada Idris was involved in a fatal auto crash. In the accident, Governor Wada was critically wounded and went into coma, while his Aide de Camp (ADC), Mohammed Idris, died on the spot.

According to an eyewitness account, the governor was returning from the annual Igala education summit, in Ayingba, when the front tyre of his vehicle burst and pulled off at Emi Woro village, between Prime Polytechnic and Salem University, about 12 kilometres to Lokoja, the state capital.

Dbanj-and-Don-JazzyPopular Nigerian musician, Dapo Oyebanjo aka D’banj, has announced the opening of a new night club in Lagos.
D’banj confirmed this in a post on Twitter on Friday.
This is coming after former producer and estranged partner, Don Jazzy tweeted about opening his own night club “PoP” on the 21st December.

D’banj said the club, located on Adetokunbo Ademola Street in Victoria Island, would be known as ‘One Eleven’ and would open yesterday (Dec 14).

Big Brother Africa star and Naija Info FM radio personality, Karen Igho was assaulted after an event last night in Lagos.
The Nigerian celebrity attended the event in support of her close friend, Denrele Edun who was the host of the show.
After she exited the event, Karen was in the carpark where she was approached by a security guard and according to Karen’s narration of the incident on social networking site Twitter, the male security guard asked for money. ”He loaded his gun and put it to my face at the car park, he wanted money and I didn’t have any on me then he slapped me.still in shock and pain“. According to Karen’s tweets “The slap sent me landing on the floor and hitting my head“.

NEWS: Singer Tiwa Banks Stabbed By Landlord's Son

News just reaching us has it that one of Nigeria's promising young female singers, Tiwa Banks was allegedly stabbed by one of her landlord's sons identified as Tobi Obadina, yesterday, Monday, December 10, 2012.

According to a broadcast made by a close friend of the artiste, Tiwa and Tobi reportedly had a misunderstand during the day but the Tobi reportedly chose the night to deal with Tiwa when he allegedly badged into her apartment, which is located around Iyana-Ipaja area of Lagos State, and inflicted some injuries on her with a broken bottle.



It was gathered that after Tobi broke into Tiwa's apartment, he allegedly broke a bottle on her head and then stabbed her, her brother and a neighbor who met him (Tobi) at the scene. This then left Tiwa in a pool of blood before she was rushed to the hospital by some of her neighbors.




It was learnt from a friend of Tiwa that Tobi now boasts around the neighborhood that he cannot be arrested because he is a son of an ex-officer. It was also learnt that Tobi is feared in the neighborhood as he terrorizes them.
