Hello House,

Please pardon my inquisitiveness, I always search for the questions I want to ask thoroughly before posting it. Please my DW and I need a bit of help and clarifications on somethings concerning our intending trip to have our bundle of joy in the USA for the first time. We are first timers and I must say the whole process is a bit overwhelming but i'll try not to bore you lovely people with much details. Below are some of our concerns:

1. DW and I do not have anyone in the USA and this is her first time traveling, would the VO think its better I go with her? could they reject her on grounds that shes pregnant and would be needing assistance and shes going alone? I have also decided to book a hotel accommodation for her for the period of 92 days of her stay, is this advisable? I chose not to apply with her in order to be her strong home ties to return to her husband, is this a valid premise?

2. I intend to deposit a lump sum amount to cover all that my DW would be needing in the USA as summarized in our budget sheet. Would she be asked to prove the origin of the money? The money would actually be coming from 3 different sources: Myself, My Company and My Dad. Is this a good approach or should we just present one person as the sponsor?

3. Finally, my DW is currently employed as an intern and her contract will be expiring before her interview, I hope to give her employment in my company and an immediate maternity leave with resumption immediately after birth. Is this acceptable as a valid body of proof for her return based on B2 Medical visa?

Please family, anyone who has answers to these our questions please help us, you'd be ''Saving a life'' smiley

with love
Our little daughter kiss

I will give a very recent experience. My in law, who doesn't work but has kids and was solely sponsored by hubby who has a good job with an American company here was granted her visa.

It was dicy at first. Filled the form with the husband as the sole sponsor (B/2 Medical Visa by the way). So armed with hotel booking, doctors correspondence, budget sheet, lady's bank account with evidence that the cost of the trip was transferred to he account, her hubby's bank statement showing he can afford to sponsor, and letter of introduction from the American Company stating the whole purpose of trip and even address of doctor for the whole waka (thanks to this forum for all the information).

So Interview date came Aug 21, after plenty questions was asked to bring the hubby for an interview. Mind you he was to stay back and help with the kids, his passport is even expired! So 3 days after hubby attended 2nd interview with his wife (note the VO stated on the white paper given her she didn't need to rebook appointment but must come within 1 month) With much apprehension, the new VO they saw asked abt the hubby's past travel history to America. the kind of trainings he had and all. Long story short, the VO advised the hubby applies for a new visa and go help the wife (wondering how that is their business) and advising her to stay 3 months as against the 2 months she stated in the form (don't knw how that concerns them too)

Morale of the story, have a clear honest plan, be confident, prepared and most importantly, PRAY for favour.

Hope this helps!

Hello House, a colleague of mine needs some clarifications;

He is sponsoring his wife for child birth (who is currently not working) and has the funds for the trip in his account. Planned visa appointment for next Monday, his concerns are;

1) should the funds be transferred to her account (a new account)

2) Husband not going on the trip due to work constraints, is this gonna be problem considering she is yet to resume any work here

3) any other advise to him to increase their chances of visa approval?

Urgent response will be appreciated.

Hello House, the cost of tickets to travel mid august is not smiling at all. The cheapest I am getting is Qatar, and I currently have one booking on hold but need to decide asap. Now my question is how is the travel experience with Qatar Airlines? How true is it that immigration in Doha is harsh esp to preggas? plan is to travel at 34 wks 6 days, is this ok? considering it doesn't fall into 36 weeks as described on their website? Considering the current controversies facing them, anyone that has recently used Qatar airlines can you please help me out.

Greetings House,

I am trying to book my flight for my second missionary trip to Houston. In my scout for tickets, reading through the health and travel section of the emirates airline it is saying one cant travel after the beginning of the 33rd week and I need to travel at 36 weeks. For people that have used emirates airlines (@DrPrincess) is this possible or do I have to look for another airline?

I think they are being fined for NOT disclosing the side effects of Talc, not that the product has talc.

nefertitiram:

The woman used the talc based product where? Is it not "up in there" she was using the talc powder? Since ma and you were born we have been using talcum powder (abi you no use yardley, avon's far away, pears baby powder sef), nothing do us.

Talc is a part of our everyday life, dey should just leave J and J alone. Boots powder has talc, Chicco sef get talc. Dusting powder na talc. Hian! Oyinbo and dia wahala sef.

Anyways, we are nigerians, just like Zika virus, we don jump and pass. So no worry eh! Our children are immune from cancer

Good day all, kindly help me out with the process of getting the DS-3053 (consent form) done. Can I use any lawyer as notary or I have to get to federal high Court. Also am I to scan and send the filled form or am to send it by express mail. I really wanna see my baby before this month end.
. Depends on the state where u are applying for the passport. Some states need the form to be notarized at the American embassy others use any notary public. You have to send the original signed one and not scanned copy. My husband used dhl for abt 13k and I got it here within days.

My dear people, my flight is this weekend. Im just thinking of cancelling my ticket since I'm unable to get PTA, I can't do black market with the little cash I have. I'm am afraid of being deported or getting stranded in the Us. Delta is charging 95k for change and penalty, what do you advise please?

Have u tried travelex at the airport? U might be lucky to get $4000 from them. When I left in Dec I got $3000 after going there for 2 whole days. Afterwards u can have someone send u moneygram or western union. Also I had someone use his card to make part payment ahead of my arrival to cover part of the medical cost and we agreed on a rate btw official and black market.

Problem now is after many attempts to reach the anestelogists they are now saying my bill is over 6k. A beg how do I go abt it cos I have settled all other bills and already have zero balance
Dr 2400 pls lab
Oakbend 2300
Scan 150
NICS 335
Lab 140
Altogether I never even spend the 6k the epidural people are calling.
Abeg gurus how do I sort this out.

Used my stanbic naira mastercard online this week and was charged N260/$1
But When I used it on amazon, I choose the naira option (I.e. at check out select naira not dollars as the payment amount) and stanbic charged about N207/$1
I haven't used it at the ATM or POS yet.
Just tot too share.

How much was finally debited from ur acct cos for gtb u even incur additonal charges for choosing naira payment on Amazon plus the crazy black market rate they charge.

Theres a way Amazon does it, they can bill you direct in Naira, which is way better than bank exchange rate, or they bill you in Usd and the bank changes with ther own rate. Open an account with Amazon and choose Naira as ur currency or when you enter your card detail

So u saying the 208 I got at confirmation is likely to be wht I will be charged eventually? *praying hands*

As in u paid oakbend?? Pls throw more light cos I read they don't accept pre registration !!

Had someone make the deposit with the Dr office to cover, part of the total cost (hospital,Dr etc) then got a letter from the dr office on oakbend letterhead that I had made deposit towards the total medical cost. Note that they didnt even ask me any questions abt hospital or dr at Poe.

Please did oakbend , up front payment from you,

In ma reply from embassy for change of intent , was adviced to hold receipts during "this particular visit" and future visa interviews. So just decided to make some deposit out of the projected cost to the doctor (but total projected cost covers doctor, hospital, pead, labs n prob epidural).

Finally arrived Houston on Dec 26 after ma 24hr flight on Delta. All glory to God cos it could have only been him and thanjs to this wonderful NL family. Travelled at 35 weeks armed with plenty documents.

After abt 1hr pls on the queue and singing of christian songs to myself, was ushered to the electronic machine. Scanned visa, clicked away to the questions, scanned my fingers and got print out. Enter line to see border control officer. Was praying not to fall writhe stern looking elderly man looking over his glasses but I finally landed in front of him instead of the young dudes
Me: hello
Poe officer: hello mam, why are u in the U.S.
Me: on this particular visit, to have my baby
Officer: I didn't hear a word u just said
Me: I said on this particular visit, I am here to have my baby
Officer; where will u be staying
Me: in Houston Texas. So will be catching a connecting flight
Officer: how long will u be staying n when are u due
Me: due end of Jan 27th or early Feb. That week
Officer: how much do u ave on u
Me: just 3000, but av made deposit with the hospital and have .... in ma acct

It's called DS-3053 form.
Check it out on travel.state.gov
Endeavor not to put date in (1) the space after ur hubby's signature and (2) the space after the notary public signature.
You ain't writing letter, just print from their website,

Thanks for the clarification @ozycy This forum has been really helpful God bless u all.

Hello house, I have been a silent follower of this forum. I am due to embark on my first missionary journey on dec25th. Already have a doctor and plan to use oakbend. My question now is, can anyone pls give a format of the notorised letter of consent as DH will not be coming along. From my late night jackings here, I figure I can go along with this to sort out baby's travel documents (as long as its not dated)
