You never tried to resolve those past issues.... so the list kept piling up.

Both of you shld table your grievences.... and start sorting and resolving them one by one.
Get ready to apologise to each other, yell at each other but you must move on.

There is No victory for any family in battle. Only pain & anguish.

Read to gain insight on exposing companies

Whistleblowers, those individuals who call attention to possible wrongdoing within their organizations, are the subjects of much controversy. Some say that whistleblowers are noble characters, willing to sacrifice personally and professionally to expose organizational practices that are wasteful, fraudulent, or harmful to the public safety. Others suggest that whistleblowers are, by and large, disgruntled employees who maliciously and recklessly accuse individuals they feel have wronged them in order to attain their own selfish goals....

These are examples of unethical conducts & immoral acts committed or allowed to be committed by top managers, owners or whoever is in charge of a business. Its unfortunate that job-seekers and employees have accepted wrong doings as the normal practice in nigeria. IT IS NOT NORMAL!

This forum will help a lot of us Nigerians seek redress.

Keep 'em' coming.

How hard is it!

Post the name of the Company that is contributing to the hardship of this country!
People are getting fired and replaced for daring to REQUEST for raise in pay check or for their hard-earned pay.
People are ill treated at various places of work.
Workers are defenceless! We need to help one another!

Stop writting long pathetic novels here!
Leave my FACE alone & focus at the issue on ground!

If you can read between the lines...
then you can appreciate this forum and help others avoid the emotional trauma.

Nice topic, but am sure it aint gonna make FP as Seun wouldnt want any potential lawsuits despite his disclaimer... wink

@topic, most privately owned companies are guilty of such, but who is to blame? I blame the government, the national assembly, the ministry of labour, and all those officers who do not even know the scope of their jobs

I mean, where are the labour laws? Who makes those laws? Who implements them? Who prosecutes offenders of such laws? Who even protects the defenseless citizens?

Well, who even values the citizens in the first place.

I love your train of thoughts!

OP: Except you are some sort of Employee Rights Activist, I suggest you take off your profile picture. Because you can experience either of the following options:

1) The mentioned companies can sue you for making defamatory statements.

2) Someone in management position in the mentioned companies, may recognize you and use your defamatory comments against you to prospective employers.

3) Prospective employers do not hire candidates who bad mouth previous employers because it tells a lot about your character.

First off - I appreciate your concern for my well being but I'm more concern for my fellow brothers & sisters suffering in silence plus I don't hv to be d president's daughter or Employee Rights Activist to speak my mind.

Second - Its only Defamatory if it is a lie... I can assure you, its not!
Just A few weeks back they ALL refused to work.
Reason - IHG Hotel did not pay its staff & other reasons, they had to involve Big Brother (Labour)

Third - I laugh in Arabic. Recognised me? Destroy my career! I like to see them try to sue me.
There is that word again DEFAMATORY. Watch yourself! You are beginning to sound like such companies...

Finally - Is it ok for companies to slander an employee but employee can not do the same, especially if it is the truth?
When has speaking the truth become a bad trait?
If we can voice our grievences and justice can prevail then I hope it would make companies with bad attitudes & others that plan to copy them - take note & sit up.

As for hiding my profile, is dat not what got us Nigerians into this mess in the first place? Fear of EVERYTHING!!!
If Late FELA had kept quiet... ..we would not know the truth about our government today.

Believe it or not, I am doing the right thing

Have you ever experienced any of these:

1
You got rejected by a prospective company, because your last firm gave you a very bad review.
Especially when the boss has it out for you.

He is a thief - take at your own risk.
She sleeps with clients - take at your own risk.
Incompetent, lazy, violent, fraudulent, disrespects authority - take at your own risk
Companies like - Sheraton Hotel Lagos. Fourpoints by Sheraton Lagos, to mention a few does that a lot.

If you really did ANY of the above at your previous firm... then don't bother adding them on your resume
(I know, the gap right? Well that's very unfortunate)

2
Some companies enjoys terminating contracts or slash salaries without notice, or refuse to pay salaries on time or at all.
Some also breached terms & conditions on contracts and you are helpless to stop the injustice.
E.g Intercontinental Hotel Group Lagos.

3
Some companies treats their staff with contempt, takes away previledges and promotes/hire unqualified or inexperienced people over you.
(Most times, you end up training such people.)

If you can mention names of companies that has done the above & more to you or someone you know, puhlease don't be shy, fire away!

Its therapeutic plus you would be helping job seekers to either plan an exit strategy before they accept any job offer from such firms or they can avoid them completely.
Add the company full names, addresses and states to help better identify them
Also clearly state their offences.

JUST ADDED 9:43pm 17th Oct 2014
NB: If you have no guilty companies to mention please read posts and consider yourself informed!
Don't derail this thread for selfish reasons.

Signed.
Its truely disgusting...

Pls don't get carried away with tribalism. We are all in this together. We are one Nigerian.

Any bill signed and passed as law by any representative of any state in Nigeria is simply an acknowledge that the entire country agrees with that law. They should ALL be held accountable.
What is acceptable in one state can easily spill over to the next.

Truly disgusting...
