manny4life: For me, I think I have to say my mind on what I think about this thread.

America for the most part is not what it used to be for several reasons which I will address, an immigrant migrating to the U.S., "PERHAPS" does have a better chance of living an "okay" life than if they were in Nigeria, then the true question is "at what cost"? Everyone here paid a price, you have to stay focused and remain steadfast, nonetheless, you still got to think about "HOME".

Education: Please do not believe the false hope that tuition is free and cheap, you will be sadly disappointed when you arrive. On the contrary, education right now in this country is actually being defunded meaning that federal pell grants and what have you will see significant decrease in the upcoming years. Where does that leave you as an immigrant? Not to discourage anyone, you can stay competitive, but at what cost?

Healthcare: Contrary to some have posted on here, illegal immigration is a big debate, MOST STATES do not give healthcare to illegal immigrants because taxpayers are funding it through the medicare/medicaid programs. It's very unlikely that you will get good healthcare as an immigrant.

Housing: This is a serious issue, all fingers aren't equal. Housing is cheap and expensive depending on where you look. On this, it's a 50/50 chance, so either way, you'll be fine.

Status: This is the koko of the matter, without this, YOU'RE NOTHING. I repeat YOU'RE NOTHING. It doesn't matter your degree, if you don't have the right status, you have to toil hard to make it through. Just go the legal way and get your papers. When you get your papers, you can qualify for in-state tuition, healthcare, grants, credit, housing assistance and what have you.

In all, a pauper in Nigeria is likely better to get fresh air tinz when they arrive, but after you have crossed a certain limit, the system begins to hit on you. For me, this is where I'm beefing the system. grin grin grin

I said the same thing, but when shit hits the fan, I had to unstuck myself... I love VA and will like to stay here while I continue my plans, but as it is, spending extra $250 monthly or an income that hasn't seen increase in 3years is not financially wise. Our people say "ejigho akpata etufuo aba ogalanya (you can't be wealthy by throwing away), so it's a tough decision but that's my own decision.

Been lived in VA for a long time, and then, the fukerz jacked up my rent. GOD PUNISH THEM. In 2010, rent increased by $80/month, in 2011 it increased by $60/month, 2012, they increased by $5 to $65/month and in 2013, it went up to $75/month. Haba, na wetin na... My rent for my 2br was becoming expensive, and then electricity was just outrageous. Dominion increased bill by almost 2cent/kw, translate that to about 900kw on average used monthly, that about $18, now add other charges like transmission charges, Right of Way charges, Taxes etc. It was like almost $25 increase on average. Then Cox Cable bill went up, my Advanced TV Package deal ran out, increased by almost $45monthly for both internet and cable. The day I called in after looking @ my bill, I swore for them that.

Sis, VA is not consumer protective at all, this is a fvcking republican state, so I made a decision to move to MD. A friend told me that rent increase is no more than $21/month and it has to be every two years. I can deal with that, although I was doing shakara that I don't want to live there, but seeing how things are taking shape, it's time to readjust.
VA is too expensive, but am so used to the place that I cant move, am stuck here ohhhhhhhh,

I still maintain some hospitals require insurance before they treat you or they request for upfront payment.

INOVA HOSPITAL here in VA WILL NOT treat you unless you have insurance, even in some emergency case.

Religion / Re: If Satan Disappears, Then God Is Useless by nadine07: 11:04pm On Sep 22, 2013
Billyonaire: Even though I am a Pantheist by Self Realization, I am closer to Christianity as a religion of my birth, so let's play the game of the mind!

If Satan Disappears, then God is useless.

To be recognized as Supreme, God had to create an adversary-an opposing force to ITself.

If God made Satan, and expected us to Hate Satan, then the question is, Why dont you God, kill the Satan since you made us believe you are all powerful ?

No, not at all, God can not kill Satan, cos he created Satan as opposite polarity against Itself. One can only know joy after suffering

Without Satan, no one will run to church to seek God.

The lesson in life is, If you are a leader, and you want people to worship you, then you MUST create a superficial enemy against the people, and become the almighty Savior of the people against an enemy you created for them, which in real sense, is your fault.

All of the above are fables, and I used to believe in fairy tales.

Do I hate Satan ? Hell to the No, I do not hate Satan at all, infact, I love him, for he has done me no wrong.

Do I believe there is Satan ? Hell to the No, cos I know that God and Satan are 2 faces of the same coin - One side is called God, and the other is called Satan while the coin itself is ENERGY, the one I chose to call INFINITE ONENESS OR INFINITY.

For Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free - Jesus, the founder of Christianity.
wow u need spiritual deliverance...

First off, good morning fellow Nigerians, Christians and who ever else is dissing or supporting on this blog. I want to state first and foremost that I never used the term “sexual abuse” in this post. I have never been sexually abused my entire life. However, I have been on about researching abuse generally because I started to realize the reason I had been how I was was because I didn’t have confidence in myself as a human being and I struggled with self esteem for as long as I can remember. Abuse is not only sexual and what I refer to here is not sexual abuse but psychological (mental and emotional), manipulation and control. These are forms of abuse and this is what I was referring to.
When I joined COZA, I didn’t know my left from my right. I was finding my way and naturally I was drawn to the word and the fact that I thought this was the one church that would help me grow. As for my then pastor Biodun, I really did see him as a god. I knew nothing about God for myself and I wasn’t reading the bible. I felt he was the one that would help me understand and grow. At the time, I had been attending church for less than three years. I will not deny the fact that I lived my life as I pleased all the while I was in University and even afterwards but like every human being knows, there comes a time when you decide to get it together.
Secondly, I am not hurting or broken anymore. The times I mentioned those in the blog, I was talking about what was happening to me at the time. By God’s grace I crawled out of the self-destructive hole I had entered. This experience drove me to dig deeper and understand grace for myself. Not only that, it made me understand how wrong it is to fear ‘men of God’ and even treat them as God. And I dare say, if I didn’t have this experience, I wouldn’t understand what it means to have a relationship with God.
I have asked God for forgiveness, I hold no grudge against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo or anyone displaying ignorance here or elsewhere. I did what I knew to do as it regards meeting church elders. Not just pastor Flo but others and it seemed no one could talk to Pastor Biodun. As for those saying people will loose their faith, I think that would turn out for their good eventually because when you loose your faith because of man,you would then be able to seek God for yourself and find truth. After all, the bible states that He wishes that ALL men come to the knowledge of truth.
Yes we were both guilty,I have not excused myself from the role I played. I was guilty as sin, however, I have come to know better. If you know anything about low self esteem, you would understand why it went on for as long as it did. Looking back, I think I expected him to know better than me but I know better now. That being said, the whole affair ended because I put my foot down. He made all sorts of propositions to me when I returned to Nigeria but I was looking to heal and move forward.
My aim with this blog is to show other ladies who suffered same fate at his hands both in Illorin and Abuja (some of whom have emailed me but are still trapped in guilt and shame to speak up) that there is nothing to be ashamed of. The clout he has over people can cause them to do thoughtless things but in the end, it’s all out there and I am at peace with myself and with God.
For those calling me a liar, please ask Pastors Biodun Fatoyinbo and Flo if I have lied. I rest my case!!!

For many people who have said that Ese was not abused, we did a little research on the subject of abuse and found this interesting article —> {Soul Stealing} It is insightful

A lot of young people flocked to the church Common Wealth of Zion Assembly {COZA} this morning to see if they would get first hand information on the subject
