paramajit: Please gurus , how long does it take UPS Courier to deliver DOCS & PASSPORT after the High Commission has finished review and returned to VFS office. it depends on your location. You might probably get it the next day... But you might have to wait till the following week if you get the notification on Friday. |

abdullahi45: Hello Gurus in the house:
I would like to confirm if the Nigeria embassy in South Africa provide the below services for Nigerians:
1. Authentication of WAEC and BSc certificate.
2. Police report (Nigeria own)
3. Attestation of document (by Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs)?
I need to be sure if I can get all these documents in Nigeria embassy in South Africa without having to go to Nigeria.
Is there any Nigeria embassy in Pretoria? I know of the one in Job'urg.
Thanks Gurus I don't have answers to your questions but I can confirm that there is an embassy at Pretoria |

Manager007: Actually, it's either of the two. But you will never know with Department of Home Affairs, so i would advise you to fulfil all righteousness and have both of you fill and certify that DHA form by a Police officer. Thereafter, you will have a lawyer draft a Notarial contract for Life Partners for you. You both swear and sign to that instrument and you are good to go.
Relative visas are normally always issued for 2 years. I found this on home affairs website: "Proof that applicant has been the spouse of a citizen or permanent resident for five years. A notarial agreement signed by both parties attesting that –(i) the permanent spousal homosexual or heterosexual relationship has existed for at least two years before the date of application for a relevant visa or permanent residence permit and that the relationship still exist to the exclusion of any other person and (ii) neither of the parties is a spouse in an existing marriage or a permanent homosexual or heterosexual relationship" |

Manager007: I can authoritatively inform you that if you submit just that Islamic marriage certificate for your Relative Permit, your application will be automatically rejected. The reasons being muslim marriages are not recognized under SA laws. Muslims in CapeTown are still trying to get this bill passed.
Under SA laws, you are both recognised as Life Partners. Which enjoys the same benefits of a Marriage visas as well
What you should do, is first to both sign an Affidavit before a lawyer or use the DHA form 1712-A , attesting that you are both over 18 and in a cohabitation, and in a relation that exclude other other parties and that you will or are already sharing bills. Sign that form and take to a lawyer or get it certified and signed before a police officer at a Police Station.
Thereafter, include a letter explaining why you married in the Islamic way and submit your application.
I can guarantee you, only then you will be issued a Relative Permit.
Very important to note, on any forms or the VFS, you are NOT applying for a Spousal Visa but a RELATIVE Visa. The are two different things. Spouse visas are for those who are married either in Court or under customary South African marriages e.g paying lobola etc. The issuance of a Marriage certificate in this case gives you full right to apply for Spousal permit.
If you want to work, study or conduct your own business with that Relative Visa, then include relevant documents which will come with conditions to either Work, or Study or Conduct Business
Spousal visas and/or Life Partner Visas are now called “ Visitor’s Visa ( 11(6)- To accompany spouse and work/study etc If you have further questions, please feel to ask
Al the best Wow!!!... Thanks so much for this information. I am really grateful mehn. Unfortunately, I will be going back to Naija on Sunday but I will try and do the form option before I leave. Regarding the DHA form, does it have to be certified by both lawyer and police? Do you have an idea how many years will be issued with the relative visa? I am trying to avoid the stress of applying for a visitor's visa everytimeI want to visit my wife. I just need a visa that will enable me move in and out of SA anytime I want. |

Anyone in Free State here please?
I have questions regarding this flight reservation matter also. I tried booking few minutes ago using south Africa Airlines, my program is starting by Feb 05, so i choose Date of departure: Feb 01, 2018 and my program is supposed to end by December 2018 but the Day of Returning according to the airline calendar didn't pass November 12.
So what can i do? Can i book from that same Feb 01 till Nov 12? I hope there's nothing wrong in this?
Or what do you advise. Please advise me accordingly. I can tell that you are vulnerable from the way you ask questions. And if care is not taken, you are going to screw your application up or get scammed. Answers have been provided to all the questions you asked and you kept asking the same questions all over and spamming the TL. Why not carefully go through this thread and get the information you seek. I believe the answers to your questions are already here. And if you are to ask again, just type all your questions in a single post and take your time to digest the answers that will be provided to you. I did my visa application myself and I got all the information on this forum, so I can tell you that it is possible for you to do it too... The issue of flight reservation is the simplest in this process and I have answered you that if you are applying in February, there is no need making reservations now in December. Its going to be the last thing that you are going to do. You can even make the booking on the day of submission. Also, you need to ask people maybe you need a return ticket for student visa, if not, then you only need to book one way. I wish you the best of luck. P.S: Stop hiting people up in Private, you might get scammed. |

abdullahi45: Directly from the airline? I hope travelstart.com.ng is an example of that?.
Cancelled after 5 days? I want to submit my visa application by January, can i still make the reservation now, i mean today?
Finally while i was filling the reservation on travelstart, i have two first names, which i input but it's joining them together (like DayoAbiola instead of Dayo Abiola), can anyone say something about this?
Also at the last stage before booking there is an option for "i require VAT invoice" should i click on it? When i clicked on it, it brings out some info to fill including company name and company VAT, what do i fill here?
Is it necessary i click on the option "i require VAT invoice"?
What's the essence of VAT invoice?
Your response would be greatly appreciated Gurus.
Thanks Travelstart is not an airline... Example of airlines are South Africa Airways (flysaa), Kenya airways, Rwanda Airways, Ethiopia Airways etc... like I advised, use flysaa...and the process of reservation is very easy. You have to make the booking on the day you want to go and submit your application. its very fast, you should be done under 10mins. And while filling, please ignore the VAT INVOICE option.... You don't need it. |

abdullahi45: Please can you expatiate on the point 3 above. i don't get?
What do you mean by long time, how many days, weeks or months after booking.? I want to use travelstart.com.ng Book directly from the airline. You can use South Africa Airways. Even though the reservation is going to be cancelled after 5 days, its still going to serve its purpose. just make sure you book directly from the airline. Its not going to cost you anything. But I'd advise you use South African Airways. |

My uncle (sponsor) is not in SA, he is in naija please don't get me wrong. I was only asking earlier that can he sponsor as we share no same surname.
Regarding the accommodation i am thinking of school hostel but it hasn't worked out yet as most rooms have been booked already. In case the school accommodation didn't later work out how do i deal with the accommodation? (as it required of me to state where i will be staying or have a verifiable hotel reservation).
Thanks in anticipation. My bad... I didn't read the part that he is in Naija. You have to make a verifiable Hotel reservation... Please don't use third- party... book directly with the hotel |

The few Gurus online should please help. Nah beg i dey beg Hello Abdulai, South Africa embassy doesn't accept third-party hotel booking, you will have to make the booking directly with the hotel. You can state it in your letter that you will be staying with your uncle since he is inviting you. Ask your uncle to state it in his letter to that you will be staying with him. And ask him for all documents like proof of residence |

he came back last two years, so he has his paper.
life over is has tired him.
he has some things to fix in my family.? can he just pay to come back? That's exactly what he just explained to you. Get a one-way ticket for him and he is good to go. You can use any airline of your choice depending on your budget. Since you are on a tight budget, I'd advise you make the move in January because ticket prices are on the high side now |

I also posted links that states clearly that 65% of americans are one paycheck away from living on the street. It is out there for everyone to see but you guys prefer the lies projected by hollywood. Only 15% of americans have $10,000 this very minute yet a fourth class Nigerian slaves working like transformer wants to tell us how rich he is Presently, $200 is equivalent to 72000 naira .. that's the amount 95% of Nigeria graduates earn.... |

timesup234: Your post is for the brainwashed. There are more people suffering in America than Nigeria. America is a country filled with homeless and hopeless people. The net worth of Americans is tied to the value of their home they wont be able to afford till death. College educated Americans at the age of 35yrs are still living with their parents while the females sell their bodies to sugar daddies in europe in order to come up with the monthly $200 student loan debt. America infratructure is in a decaying state and illiteracy is rampant with very high suicide rate. The US. death rate is higher than that of Nigeria in figures, i can go on and on and on. America indeed is one overhyped shithole Lmaoooooo .... This cracked the shit outta me bruh... |

I haven't been to America but I don't know in God's name why someone will be so mad and envious of that opportunity-laden country or other Developed European countries. For instance, I am a freelancer in Naija here and 80% of my income is from America. There is opportunity and hope in such countries. I do love Naija so much but I can't join the bandwagon of people claiming this country is a sane place to live. Do you even know the percentage of people that are suffering in this country? Do you know how many people that stop me on the road and ask for money everyday?
This issue is not even debatable at all. I am making a good money from my freelancing job, high enough to give me a good life in Naija. But do you know what, I am planning to leave this f*cked up county soon. I need to be in a stable environment and start planning for my unborn children... Moving to a place where I can make better use of my skills, make more money and live a good life.
As a freelancer, I am even scared of the police because they will mistaken you for a yahoo boy and victimise you. Its time to stop arguing blindly. I love Naija but I love my life more...
FYI: I am going on a vacation in the next couple of weeks from Money I earned while virtually living in America. I paid my travel expenses in just 2 days without even feeling it... tell me the percentage of legit working class Nigerians that can afford that?? |
